Hello. I would not consider myself a religious person but... a few months ago one night when I was lying in bed trying to fall asleep I saw the image of Jesus appear before me ( i know he wouldnt really look as he is often depicted in the media but its the only way I'd realize what im looking at i suppose) but I saw him. draped in white ropes clear to my eyes in the dark of night. I could have been my imagination but even if it was the sight of this made me feel over come with powerful feelings of warmth, happiness and joy where as it seemed that any sort of negative emotion were non-existant.... I found this expierence to be a wonderful thing... I tired to tell my friends abuot it. but none of my friends believe in jesus or anything religious... they dont understand.. So i share these things on forums. I do believe in God and Jesus but i do not look at it in a religious aspect.... any thoughts on my experience..?

how can you belive in god and his son jesus.... but not religiously.. perhaps im missing something here.
why ELSE would you "believe" in them?
HOW else can you "believe" in them?
what about the poor holy spirit?
for without him you can not have the others

I agree with the stupid/confusing quote, but do you have to be so confrontational to the newb? Everybody likes a good debate around here, but getting in peoples' faces certainly doesn't win you any friends.

Perhaps because he had a vision.
Faith and visions just like everyone else.
The holy spirit is not a separate being but the representation of God presence on earth. So God is the Holy spirit. So the Holy spirit is there.
Why dont you believe? Are you one of those whinny types who hold a grudge against "something they dont believe in" or are you one of those who doesnt believe simply because you dont like the idea of having something more in your life such as faith and spiritual belief?

Hey Marco!!
I believe you had a vision, IMO. Experiences such as these can turn a person around, change their entire outlook on spirituality. It's a remarkable experience, and one you won't likely forget about too soon.
Btw, ignore Zombie brains, he wouldn't nor couldn't understand apparently. :} bless his heart.

Yes because unless we were there or can read this guys mind we dont know. Speculation can be made that is not who he seen. But the same speculation can be made that it was God that he saw. Your personal attack is a feeble attempt to get your rock off at a believer of God. If you dont believe, fine but not believing doesnt give you the right to bash him for believing what he saw. The topic is asking if anyone has had a similar experience. I dont think he was asking for anyone to attack his beliefs.

You got that straight, your attitude sucks.
This "kid" isn't saying Jesus himself appeared. He is saying he experienced a vision of something that to him, was Jesus. Whether you believe it or not, Zombie, people do have these experiences more than you realize and they are spiritually intended..

Lookie here, my granny had a NDE. She died literally, and these people she called angels lifted her up and took her up into another realm... To her, these beings were angels.. She apparently got this impression b/c that is what first came to her mind.. that is what made sense by what appeared, from what she personally experienced.. the same for Marco here I would imagine.

how much of it is all in your head..expectations from when you WERE living.. what was forced fed into you... and i mean as for the whole bright light thing.. well there are certain drugs which i wont mention which can almost perfectly simulate the experiences that NDE people report.. bright light... and all..

no no one has seen 'christ' before. but I believe plenty may have seen what they have been taught to imagine god is. real or not is another matter.
I when putting my portfolio together in a week for my entrance into art school ( yes I had put it off till the last week! it was crap) had a dream I was in the playground of my elementary school with my nephew as I walked him to school there ( which indeed I did) and out of the sky came this small glowing gold light and in the center I could tell was a figure. I knew it was JC himself. Of course I was ecstatic ( actually happier than I had ever been or ever have been since ) and I had a ton of questions . when fully there all I could stumble out was like Mayor Ed Koch " how am I doing?" which in retrospect was probably the best question I could have asked. He answered "good" and the strange part was he didn't verbally say it , but thought it. ( I didn't think it strange until waking).
Now of course I dreamt of 'god' as I understood god. If I had been Buddhist it would have been Buddha instead of some Caucasian version of Jesus like I had dreamt of. Since I had never thought of the ethnicity of 'jesus' I dreamt of a white one like me. blond hair ect ................. that's not how jesus looked.
if indeed he existed , he would have looked like this

Just goes to show you , God takes the form we are taught , not as it is.

I believe LT. that dream was remarkable in itself.
& I can agree. In our own mind is who we see, these images, or vision, dreams, (NDEs) etc,. go along with our own beliefs.. That is the reason why I'm so convicted that the importance is spiritual, to become aware of that. That it's spirit that is so important, and NOT religion itself. When we die, there is no religion.
