show the video on here you!!!

Someone asked about those press videos released by the Space Telescope Science group, like the deep sky surveys.

There may be lots of others on the internet, but SCTI provides the essential larger format. Anyway...

First, though, YouTube-

A General Fly-Out Animation (powers of ten, etc.)

The Hubble Telescope videos tend to be publicity releases. Although, the 3-D models may reflect efforts on using broadband colors to better establish distance. Some clips are just zoom, though. They have to omit a lot of detail, and clean up noise and defects. The end result is about 10% of the original data, probably.

HST was involved in the GEMS survey (deep), the GOODS survey (deeper), and the Ultra Deep Field survey (Z~7, high redshift, 750 million years after the Big Bang). There were also various telescopes involved.

The general press releases did involve one IMAX clip. Here are some listed chronologically.

These require R-Click and Save-

1. 1995- Hubble Deep Field, more than 2,000 galaxies placed in 3-D space, by redshift (light stretched via expansion of the universe).

2. 2004- GOODS survey. Hubble IMAX Film, 3-D, 30,000 galaxies and a prelimary image (230 megapixels), IMAX film (23 megapixels per frame). The final GOODS image (650 megapixels) was transformed into more than 4,000 IMAX resolution digital frames, creating about 100 billion pixels for a three-minute film.
