We get together and talk,” coordinator Dave Albright said Monday. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month, which would be at 7:30 p.m. today at the Aztec Community Center. The guest speaker is author Mark Kimmel, who will focus on visits from extraterrestrials and celestial beings.Kimmel said he was dragged into the realm of the paranormal “kicking and screaming” but soon learned there was more to this world than what science can explain.“There’s a mystery to unravel,” Kimmel said in a telephone interview. The author of the book, “Trillion,” said he thought he was writing a science fiction novel, when he began the endeavor in 1997. But by 2001, Kimmel’s thoughts and life began to change. “I realized the book was not really fiction.” It begins in a remote area of the Navajo Nation near Kayenta, Ariz., where an entrepreneur meets some extraterrestrials. The action moves to Boulder, Colo., and then to Chicago, Kimmel said of the book.

After it’s release in 2001, Kimmel said he began receiving telephone calls and letters from people who claimed to have lived through the main character’s experiences. “I reluctantly have to conclude the book is more true than fiction,” he said. The book is what led Albright to contact Kimmel about the Free Thinkers Forum. “It’s a fun read with some real good messages,” Albright said, adding Kimmel has a positive approach to extraterrestrial and human contact. Kimmel said he will share some of these messages along with a Power Point presentation during today’s talk. He will also discuss “extraterrestrial events around the world and the messages they have been giving us.”While this month the open forum will be focusing on UFOs and ETs, Albright said there will be other topics in the future.
