Scariest dream I ever had was of a man killing my family with a knife. I kept on
shooting him with a 12Guage shotgun, but he just wouldn't die. I've actually hadthat particular dream several times.

this all depends on your definition of a bad dream...i had a "bad dream" and it was this guy with a mask on, killing everybody at my school, and then he came after me...there was nowhere to run. He raised his knife and i snatched his mask off. and it was me...

Krow-
that dream was much more significant than mere fantasy! You met your shadow self!! Your shadow is your dark side. Everything you are , but dare not be. Your personal unconsious is trying to tell you something very important.
of course it all depends upon the emotional content of the dream. How did the killings make you feel in the dream?
Your friend thefirstman also had a dream about his shadow self. I tried to steer him in the correct direction for interpretation as I am trying to do with you.
Just keep in mind that Moe is also of the belief that sometimes a dream is just a dream. Dont fuss over it.

About every other dream i have is an alternate reality where I live in the future about 2,000,000,000,000 years .
I could say alot about it , they are really good dreams . Humans all have white hair and we live in a space station 20 times larger then earth ( which is gone , along withe the entire milky way it has been destroyed . I am older in those dreams ( oy ... 467 but I look no older and feel no older , actually stronger ) And my job is an assasin . Its interesting how many alien races we have encountered , on top of that we no longer all ourselfes humans but everyone is a psion with pretty interesting ability .
could go on forever since its like my other life and all, so I will stop ranting .

I hd dreams well they dont really come true, but I sometimes find my self in the same position as the dream it's really weird. Like in this one ream I dreamed my best friend almost got ina fight with this one kid and in the dream he did, BUT the next day he almost got in a fight with the same kid it's really strange.

The only nightmare that I ever remeber having was on Christmas Eve last year.
At first the dream was going fine, I was at my friends house and we were lookin at flip books(I have no idea). She grabbed this one and I started to flip through it. The flipbook was of a forest or a backyard. A figure in the background got closer on every page. On the last page the figure was clear. It was a girl with no eyes, just sockets and decayed flesh and matted hair. Very typical, but it scared the pee out of me.

I had a rather peculiar dream that all my friends were trying to capture me
There was a large mob of them chasing me and only a few of them were really significant, like my friend Kerr, chasing me with a sledgehammer and Marianne hittnig me as i was about to escape through a door.It wasnt a scary dream in general, but it was peculiar if nothing else.I had a good laughwith my mates when i woke up though.

Here's one of the many dreams i've had, this one being a nightmare.
A celebration at my house, which i think was Christmas (or was it New Year's? iunno.). Anyways, i entered into the kitchen from my parents bedroom and when I had looked into the oven i had noticed a rabbit. MY PET RABBIT! I think i woke up after i had seen it or i think i went on sleeping anyhow, when i had woken up after this insane dream i felt a sudden urge of sadness fall over me as i had remembered the oven and the burnt flesh of my pet.
My parents had given this rabbit to the Humane Society a year ago or two. And i'm not sure when this dream had been dreamt, possibly a couple months later after he (the rabbit) had been given away.
Maybe the Humane Society had uethanized him, and then incinerated his body, when no one was willing to adopt him.

I surely hope someone adopted him.
Oh well i'm sure i'll see him in the after-life.

I had a recurring nightmare for years. It would start out on a playground. My best friend and my cousins would be playing games, then it would quickly get dark and we would start to walk home.
Cutting through an alleyway, we would be bathed in the headlights of the same semi-truck. It would chase us down, one by one as we would hop fences and run through houses to escape it.
Near the end it would always be M'Kesha (best friend) and I in a house with a bay window draped in lace curtains. We would be scrabbling at the floorboards, trying to pry up the trapdoor to the basement. Then the headlights would come on, glaring through the window. Everything would go black as the glass shattered inward.
In the dream, I would wake up in the back seat of my grandmothers old plymouth. My mother would be in the passenger seat, up front. We would pull into the parking lot of some fast food restaurant.
The semi, with tinted windows, gleaming white, and glittering chrome would pull in and park next to us. The same man-tall, dressed in white, tanned, vividly blue eyes, curling blonde hair-would climb out of his truck. He would stand there and the worst, most evil-knowing grin would spread across his face, and I would know that it had been him. Then I'd wake up.
I must have had this dream at least once a week for years. Maybe this is why I (generally) have an aversion to blonde men? ( there have been very few exceptions )

DCSHOECOUUSA:
On Saturday morning, I had a dream before I woke up in my dream I was going down a water slide you know those ones that are covered and they are sometimes go in windy directions anyway. In my dream I was in it- actualy in my dream I was near the end- I falled out of the covered slide and drop at least a hundred feet- into the large pool below. I go down to the bottom of the pool. I kind of feel it- not the kind that you believe it's a exprience, it's kinda hard to explain though. I'm sure this is my second time having this dream. It's not a bad or nighmarish. I kinda don't remember my nightmares, luckily.

one of my dreams are of me wanting to go down this dark hall, but then all of a sudden something appears and then some "ghosts" and they start to drag and pull me into the dark hall, and its like a falling filling feeling I get but then I wake up...
The other one was of something big, like a werewolf, chasing me down the street and it trips and attacks me and then all of a sudden I'm falling down a cliff side...and the last thing I hear is a howling sound and I wake up panting...

This isn't a nightmare, it's just wierd.
I dreamt I was standing on a beach, facing a full length mirror. As I watched, I aged. From baby, to Senior. the weird thing is, it has been acurate so far!
Anyway, I can only remember having two nightmares, but they were very frightening

They usually involve either dark, supernatural forces, or wicked humans.
Usually, I'm either running (From the supernatural) or fighting (The people)

has anyone ever had a dream where your teeth become loose and start falling out? myself and many of my friends have had this same dream. I've also dreamt that I'm running away from a man with a gun. I hear shooting and feel a weird hot sensation in my back. I realise I've been shot twice and fall to the ground. Then, just as I feel I'm drifting off into unconscience, I wake up.
Scared the bejeezus outta me!!

In my opinion i think we need bad dreams.
I think it shows us how bad things could be an keeps us level headed.
I have (dont laugh) have had dreams where i have killed someone and woken up completley relieved that it wasnt true.
I think this is just a way of humanity coming through. i mean i dont want to feel that bad do so ill never do it. lol
Just my opinion.

I had a dream not to long ago, where I had been shot (I'm not exactly sure who did, can't remember, or either it wasn't shown in my dream) and I was actaully able to feel the effects of being shot, not the pain, but the feeling of a hole in my chest, I was also able to feel the blood drip from the top of this hole-shot to the bottom. All I can say, is that it felt really different and yet it was naturally wet.
========+=====+=========+======
I recently had a dream where I was ice-skating, or technically speaking, figure skating. I felt as if I was actually in control of my dream and was able to direct myself on where to skate. I didn't want to leave this dream, because i've never skated in my life and it seemed like a good dream to start practicing
I ended up being interrupted by my alarm-clock.

And after a minute or so, after I had awoken, I just realized I was having the time of my life dreaming.
The skating rink looked like those skating rinks with only the ends of the semi-circles having baracades, those plastic windows. Thus leaving the sides of the rink free to walk out of the rink. It was dark with only a few blue and white spotlights around the edges where the judges desk were, or so it seems to have been.
Also the ice rink and the ice shavings was so vivid and real that I felt i was on a real ice rink.
Anyways, while I was in the dream, I was trying to do those moves in those olympic skating contests, but was unable to try it, because of my dumb alarm-clock. Oh well, maybe i'll be able to do this once I have this dream again

Constant nightmares since I was about four. My oldest memory is actually a nightmare. Since then they've never stopped. When I was a little kid there was a constant theme I had to go through every night for about eight years. Since I became a teenager they tend to be more random but still there.
Because of it I'm an Insomniac and even when I lay down to sleep it takes me at least an hour to relax enough to actually go to sleep.

Worst nightmare I had wa after september 11th; I was like riding a skytrain, saw lots of people screaming, wailing waving for help out of the tower windows. I can only see orange flame and the people in black shadows, there was no sky and nothing, everything else was pitchblack. I hope they are in peace now.

I've had nightmares, but as of now I am too lazy to share them, I've also have had "bad" dreams, where bad things happen, but I make it turn out okay, which is awesome becasue I'm the hero and I saved the hippopotomas person's babies! I might tell that dream later, too lazy now, yes, too lazy.

Quite often, but it rarely has anything to do with movies. Often monsters like the "demon horse", and dreams where a psyco wants to kill me.

i hardly dream anymore to be honest

its kinda sad

but when i do dream its usually about weird things
My worst nightmare. I think about 3 years ago. I had many second thoughts before posting this but what the hell...if you believe me it's ok , if not , the same. I don't really think this nightmare had any meaning.
I was in my grandparents yard feeling scared, I looked up and saw a wall of water up to the clouds, then I heard a very low voice laughing three times, I turned to my left and I saw Jesus on His knees, praying (He looked like He is shown in icons, I mean the beard, long brown hair) , when Isaw him I felt like fainting, like a thunderbolt struck me in the back of my head(I was terrorised), I fell on my knees and after that the wall of water just crumbled upon me. I was feeling like I was drowning. I woke up screaming and tears ran down my face.
I still remember the dream like it happened today. That was the weirdest dream I've ever had and my worst nightmare. I get shivers just thinking of it.
Edit : I am not a religious type of guy.

I can't remember any of my truly vivid bad dreams right now, except for one strange one I had when thinking about the books I write. Sometimes I place myself into my characters when I go to sleep, seeing if I can dream what they would dream, think and feel what they would feel, etc. It's been successful, but none more so than one in particular:
I was a girl, around my age, running like crazy. I couldn't get my legs to move fast enough. My heart was pounding in my ears to the point where I could barely hear, and my chest ached from the exertion. I glanced behind me and saw that something was after me. My clothes were torn like someone had ripped them, possibly tearing them off or using them to get a hold of me. I'm running through what starts out as a wooded park, slowly morphing into a cemetary, the scenery passing so quickly that I barely notice other than now having to dodge around headstones. The figure is still after me. I know I can't run any longer. My legs twitch as I practically leap into an open crypt with nothing but a stone sarcophagus in the center. I block the door as well as I can and stare at it, terrified, holding my breath, backing away.
I back into something, practically jumping out of my skin as I do, screaming as I turn. It's the dark figure. I can't make out anything about it. It wears a mask and what I can see of the face is blurred. I try to pull away to run but it grabs me, throwing me onto the sarcophagus, climbing on top of me, pinning me down. I struggle, unable to get away. However, I am able to rip the mask from my attackers face. It's another character from my books: One I definitely wouldn't have expected. I (being the character) look at him, terrified and startled.
"You?" I say (in the voice of the character)
he merely smirks, laughing. "Who were you expecting?" Then his hands wrapped around my neck and I heard a snap, feeling my neck break.
*********
The creepiest thing? This male character is one of her closest friends, yet in the dream, she was terrified of him. It was weird.

I have alwys had poor sleeping habits. Night terrors, sleepwalking and nightmares.
My nightmare was always the same: something unseen, just beyond my vision in the shadows or under the bed or in the closet. I could always hear it but never see it. It still scares the crap out of me

The only 'nightmare' I have had in the past couple of years was when I used to sleep on the floor in my room (I ws going through a wierd phase when I didn't like my bed

).
I was in a cabin in a huge forest and I hear a noise outside. I run out into the forest and something starts chasing me. I then trip and hit my head on a tree, and I see the creature. It is human shaped but has no face and attacks me with an axe. I then see a rabbit
