Ok, if five street lights turn off in a five minute walk, do you think that rules out coincidence? This happened last night as I walked past or looked at a street light. There's something strange going on.

Did it happen around twilight? That's when they usually turn on. And is there any possibility they could be motion sensative?

I think it may of been a coincedence, i mean since they link up to same power supply, maybe they was a jolt, or the power went from them, by chance when you walked past, lol, maybe, maybe not....

There's actually a thread on this somewhere.
Some people believe their chemical make-up or something causes them to put out street lights, make their watches quit working, and batteries drain.
Stuff like that.
I can't remember if there's a name for it or not. It's around here somewhere.

I think about this everyday.
There is a street light that ALWAYS turn off if its on and turn on if its off when I pass right below it. Is this a great coincidence or there is a chance to some kind of interference force creates event?
Ps. I can take a picture of the place if anybody wants.

It was not twilight, it was the middle of the night.
If there was a jolt in the electricity supply, they would all go out at the same time.
These were all seperate street lights and they were all different kinds of lights...one was a high standing street light, one was a small standing streetlight, one was a wall mounted light, and the others were attached to trees/telephone pylons. None of them were motion sensitive lights. Motion sensor lights are for security to protect people's homes - these were all street lights and everyone knows that street lights aren't turned off seperately at the flick of a switch, which is the idea of having motion sensitive lights - to give the impression that someone is there turning the light on or off.
Maybe it's all coincidence...but if it is, it's a pretty big coincidence. Or maybe I'm just crazy. who knows?

If the problem was at the electrical source, then it wouldn't be isolated to just a single streetlight.

exactly, it would be a whole line of streetlights. These are all different lights in different places going off at different times.

Oh I'm sorry, did anyone read what I said?

Yeah I read what you said, but I already knew there was other threads, I just thought I'd get more replies if I started a new one... I'm not convinced by the chemical make-up or magnetic field explanations though. If that were the case it would happen with every street light, but this is not the case.

Maybe the force of your feet on the ground (as minute as it may be) jigles just the right things in the lights and on comes the power supply. I don't know. I'm just spouting off ideas. Don't listen to me. I'm a biologist not an electrician.

I just meant that you might get some info from those threads. You obviously think it's something paranormal or your thread wouldn't be in this section.
What do you think it is?

The same thing happens to me, kind of. There is a street light right outside of my window, and when ever me or my dad look ot the window at it, it turns off. It won't turn off if my mom looks at it though. Just me and my dad.
