A series of scary books, that I thought were cool. I came up with them in Study Hall.

Book 1: Clogged

Jack's neighborhood is having a problem with the plumbing: Black, murky water comes out of every faucet of every house and store. Jack isn't concerned, until people go missing, including his best friend Ray. And Jack's little brother is saying there's a ghost in the toilets of his house. No Jack's getting spooked, and with the help of Paul McHugh, a plumber, he must stop the dangerous and sacred monsters that lurk in the pipes of his city...

Book 2: My Backyard

Seth is the new kid on the street, and he hates it. He's from Oklahoma, and moved to Pennsylvania. The kids there keep picking on him, saying he will die by 2009, since it it 2008 now. Especially Rick Ruck, a young ghost-story teller, who tells Seth legends, of dead people in his backyard. He tells Seth that every year someone moves there, they die in the next year. Well, it had been 11 months since Seth was told that. but he gets suspicious when his baseball bat and cap get covered with weeds, and, right before him, sink into the ground of his giant yard. After stealing various objects, the yard finally steals his brother, and the ghosts possesing it are trying to bring the whole house under. Now, only with his dad's .22 caliber, and the safety of his trampoline, have to face the 1-acred yard.....or die.....

Book 3: 446

Landon has checked out a very strange book, entitled: 446. It has notes all over it in pink ink, and it is clearly written by a girl. He finds this weird book in the school's library. The book tells of how this girl died, how her boyfriend broke up with her the day she died, and how she was looking for another when she died. She was one of the most poular kids in school, and was looking for a jock to go out with. After reading the whole book filled with mysteries, Landon starts having dreams, of kissing a pretty girl in the school library. The next day he opens 446, he gets sucked into the Ghost Dimension. There, he finds Kelly, the pretty girl in his dreams. She loves him, and wants to marry him. Well, according to a priest's ghost, Carl, if a ghost wishes to love a human, that human must stay a ghost in the ghost world.....and be with the ghost he marries....forever....

Book 4: Hag

14-year-old Tyler Honks is a touble maker at home. He doesn't listen to one word his mother says. He doesn't do one chore his mother asks of him, except for one day where he installed the Borro Theft Alarm, that locks down the house from the time you turn it off, until the next morning. While his mother's gone, Tyler invites all of his friends over. But after having a few Root beers, a strange old lady is knocking on their door, asking if she could at their flesh. After their fattest friend: Arnie, is captured by this old lady, and boiled in her giant pot and eaten, the boys are freaked. Tyler turns on the Borro Theft Alarm, but the Hag is already in the house. Now they are stuck with this witch, with no way for help to come in, and now way to get out....until morning.

Book 5: Deceased

Gary Green jumped out a window, and fell on the cold pavement, for a camera stunt. He is completely shocked to find himself lying on the road, dead. Now, Gary is trapped as a ghost, but is given a deal by God: If he can dig up his grave, while he is transparent, and jump into your body, you can come back to life. But an insane man who calls himself Craig, is a ghost hunter, who is actually a ghost himself. He feels jealous that Gary gets a chance to live, while he doesn't and tries to stop Gary from finding the four objects he needs to become alive: The Cursed Shovel of Daman, The Book of Deceased. the Samilar Medallion, and the Ring of the deceased. Can Gary get to his body before craig hunt him out?

Book 6: (Initially "Joyride" but now) No, You Can't Come Over

Drake Montors' gets the whole house to himself while his mom and dad go to Florida for the weekend! WOO! Drake is going to party! He's gonna ask everybody to come over, and maybe throw the biggest party on the planet!!! But when he waks up Saturday morning, he finds that everything in his house is alive, and is hopping around, talking, and actually trying to kill him. And the constant ringing phone of his friends that want to come over to party is making the objects mad, and now fully attempt to kill Drake. Can he convince the living doors to open for him, before he is crushed by fridges, couches, and TV's? Or maybe burned to death by the awakening heating system downstairs, that could take out the house in one burst of heat.
That's all so far. Whatya think? I think they're pretty cool, but, whatever, sometimes everyone is a critic cool.gif

I'm not meaning to offend you in any way. I'm going to give my opinions on your stories.

Book 1: Clogged

I really like this idea. Why don't you add priet in there somewhere. Because how would a boy and a plumber be able to rid a city of a ghost?

Book 2: My Backyard

Again, good premise. Needs a little work, 'though. Why don't you try having a legend of an old Native American Shaman being buried in the backyard instead of dead people. Or have that the backyard was a sight of bone disposal when the builders disturbed a Native American graveyard to build the house.

Book 3: 446

Interesting premise. Kinda reminds me of the Corpse Bride, but better. I like having the main character make a choice between his "one true love" and his friends. But here is my problem with it. A girl would not be looking for a new boyfriend the day he broke up with her. Have the time between the breaking-up and the dying be longer, at least a week or two. Some girls are ready to move on after that time. But never a day. Girls will spend the day they break up crying and eating fattening food. Trust me, I am one and have gone through a few break ups in my time.

Book 4: Hag

Hmm hmm.gif This is an interesting one. Still needs work. Such as maybe have the little old lady be disguised as a neighbor and then come in and cook the flesh of children.

Book 5: Deceased

Good job, again. The only thing I am struggling with is the Cursed Shovel of Dante. WTF? It really doesn't sound like something out of a horror flick. And maybe used Daman instead of Dante. Dante was just a poet, not a demon.

Book 6: Joyride

This is the one I think could use the most work. I don't know where to head on this premise. Instead of having the boy driving the car, have the driverless, haunted car chasing the 13-year-old boy down deserted highways. Something like that, I don't know.

Good luck with your writing!! I wanna see how this turns out.

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!

These sounds like they would be humorous and horrific - and perfect for the 'young adult' or older kids. I really like "Clogged" and "My Backyard."

Wow! You guys rock! Thanks for the encouragement. Rosenrot, I really hate the idea for Joyride, and no, no Shamans or Indians that are dead in My Bakcyard. The dead people are as followed: A little boy named Victor, A priest named Judiah, a farmer named Ethan, a wealthy woman named Esther, and if Seth doesn't hurry, his kid brother joins them, and must haunt the yard forever.

And, I cnnot believe you guessed this, but in Clogged priest IS in this book, but he has retired. I can't tell you, because I'm still writing it. If it doesn't get published, which I think it will, I'll just post it on UM forums. Kay?

Book 1: Clogged

Sounds very Goosebumps-ish. And I loved Goosebumps. Cool idea original.gif

Book 2: My Backyard

My favorite one. It reminds me of Cujo in a way. This would actually make a pretty cool tv movie.

Book 3: 446

Corpse Bride: Rated R

Other than that one little flaw of the girl looking for a mate again, its a cool story original.gif

Book 4: Hag

Maybe if you just explained to us how they allow her in the house if she says she will eat their flesh, I would like this one better? original.gif

Book 5: Deceased

Not a big fan of this one. sorry sad.gif

Book 6: Joyride

Kind of odd, I agree with Rosenrot. Having him not in the car would be better, and just having it follow him around. I think there was a movie based off of that sort of plot a while ago?

Don't worry, I didn't really even like my idea for "Joyride." I was half asleep by the time I got to that part sleepy.gif But my only suggestion is to make the boy 16; some of the things would sound more plausible if he were 16 as opposed to 13. Have him be under punishment and to get back at his dad, steal his car. Or something like that, I don't know. You don't hear of many 13-year-olds knowing how to drive well.

And I have one other question, why are all the dead people in the backyard in "My Backyard"? Just curious.

And defiantly work to get this published. (But we still wanna see it here yes.gif ) It may be hard (I had one teacher who tried to get her poetry published, but they kept turning her down. Then again, she sucked at life.), but don't give up!! I haven't and never will!!

Made the cover to "Clogged". It's horrible, but who cares?

"Now, only with his dad's .22 caliber, and the safety of his trampoline, have to face the 1-acred yard.....or die....."

HAHA, that sounds pretty cool, jumping on a trampoline and shooting a .22 into the back yard... LOL

Sneak Peek at: My Backyard! This is the climax of the story, please enjoy it!

Bouncing was making him queasy, so he had to stop. The constant tugging motion was scaring him to the bone. He felt like he was being sucked into a whirlpool. And the shaking fires and booms of the gun were making his hand turn into Jell-O.
But the more the weeds snatched the bottom rails of the trampoline, he was convinced to try and end it. But there were just too many, and he couldn’t just shoot them all. He hated using guns anyway, no matter how much his dad loved hunting.
He looked at the net of the trampoline in horror, his mouh making a perfect “O”. A couple of 5-foot-long weeds were slithering on the ends of Seth’s only hiding place, squirming like fish, looking for a leg to tug down and under.
Seth shot one, but his aim was shaken by his hands. The shot missed, and made a hole in the trampoline. His mind racing, he boosted a jump up into the air, and leaped onto one of the long weeds.
Biting, thrashing, pulling, and tugging, the two 5-foot-long weeds were severed, and in his hands, motionless.
The sounds of grass and plants snatching at the trampoline, and the big booms of the tree’s movement screamed into Seth’s ears, until he thought he was going to pass out.
But then, the sounds stopped. The yard stopped tugging, the trees stopped moving, and the trampoline was still and calm.
Seth looked up to see a power line helicopter flying through his yard.
He started jumping higher, and higher, waving his arm.
“HEY!” he called. “Down here! I’m DOWN HERE!”
The copter lowered, and Seth felt a rush of happiness flow through his veins. He was going to finally get out of here.
The two men in the helicopter looked so strangely at Seth, it embarrassed him. He forgot that he was covered in grass stains, and his face drenched with blood. He must’ve looked like a 14-year-old savage.
“You okay, kid?” one man, with a green cap on backwards, and a long beard asked.
All of a sudden, Seth’s happiness turned to fear. He nodded okay, and said he could take care of himself. He hopped off the trampoline.
“Hey,” the other pilot, who was bald, asked. ‘Are you okay, kid? You need a ride?”
“No,” Seth mumbled. “No, I’m just gonna go down the block. Uhhh…..that’s where my mom is.”
Well what would you do in a conflict like this? Tell the pilot your yard is a total bloodfest of pain and destruction? No, they would think Seth is a lunatic.
The two men hopped into the copter. It sprung into the air slowly.
That’s when it happened. Seth jumped backed, as two huge weeds the size of building plunked out of the ground, and grabbed the copter. It tugged down.
Seth heard the blood curdling screams of the pilots, as the giant weeds brought them and their plane down to land. The copter hit the ground with a BOOM, and Seth covered his ears. But he looked. The two men were both covered in blood, dead, in the yard.
Seth watched in horror, as the two men were sucked down into the earth by the grass and plants, never to be seen again.

He hated using guns anyway, no matter how much his dad loved hunting.

That's my favorite line. You don't find too many young boys who don't like to play with guns. I think that makes a very respectable and unique individual. I also like that Seth seems to be disturbed by what is going on. It makes him seem more human and not like some superhero god thing.

And this is shaping up to be a good story. About how long (in terms of typed pages) is this story?
ThaddO
Ummm...I'm really not sure yet. Typing "Clogged" is such a drag, because I need to go through alot of kidnappings trhoughout the town, before you can actually see the monster, and its really pissing me off.
My Backyard is what I love typing, because of the constant action, from a baseball bat sinking under the ground, to the battle on the trampoline. It's really more fun then writing Clogged,as you can see why.
I started "443" and made a kick ass prolouge, of how the girl was escaping a bunch of punks, and she was stabbed and raped to death. It's really intense, and I'm going to post it here! w00t.gif

I wrote a couple chapters on HAG, because it was initially a movie script, and had to convert it, which annoyed me, because it's hard to use describing words for a simple script.
Deceased outline is nearly finished. I really like this idea. Some people judge it by what it says above, but when you read the outline or even the story, you will love the thrilling adventures, when the main character finds out that he cannot touch anything, as he is a ghost. But a ghost can touch another ghost, and that's why he's running from Craig.
I haven't done anything with Joyride, because it's never coming out! tongue.gif Please see first post, for more imformation.

she was stabbed and raped to death.

Why don't you have her raped and then murdured (because nobody likes a necrophilac). Oh and have her body never found. That would give a good explaination of why her ghost is still running around. Ya know, body never laid to rest, spirit roams aimlessly.

Uhhh.. they aren't necrophiliacs, they rapes her, then killed her.

Uhhh.. they aren't necrophiliacs, they rape her, then killed her.

Thank you for clearing that up. The way you had originally phrased it sounded like they were raping her to death which is something even too grusome for me.

rosenrot
Well, sence you have bumped this thread, how are the stories comming?
ThaddO
Not bad! It's all goin' good! And I MIGHT actually make a short, 20-minute movie out of "Clogged", because I love making movies.

Man, wouldn't it be cool if, like, My Backyard got like New York Time's Bestseller or something? that'd be so kickass.

"Bone Chillers" by Betsy Hayes, and Goosebumps. I hope to be at the top kid's scary books with them, even though Hayes' books are much more entertaining. I really hope to be a good writer, director, or animator when I'm an adult. I have the best imagination in my school, maybe even state.
