What is it with women and the goddess complex?

Do women have hard time connecting to religion with the monotheists concept of 'God the Father'?

Here are a few sites to give you some background.

I've always been in favor of worshiping women.

I never could understand physical abuse towards women.

Sure I like to make women shake and quiver - but not from beating them.

If someone pisses me off that bad, then for the sake of inner peace...if it doesn't fit I must acquit.

I always thought that without women, life would be very, very, very hard to live.

They say that to be happy you need:

Something to do

Something to look forward to

Someone to love

Someone to love you

Women help fill the void for the love category of this equation.

Sexual cults are becoming more popular now where devotees (usually men) get dominated by women and the men take the abuse from 'the goddess.'

Guess it is nothing new, more of a modern twist on bondage.

But the idea of goddess and devotee used in such sexual relationships is more of a modern development. As the ancient goddesses were in the form of statues and not in the flesh.

What are your views on modern women and the goddess complex?

Why do you call it a Goddes COMPLEX? That infers a pejorative connotation. Do men that pray to a "Father God" have a God complex?

I think you already answered the question yourself. I think yes, many women have a hard time connecting with the concept of "God the Father".

Goddess-based religions have been suppressed through the rise of Christianity & Islam for many centuries. I'm sure you cannot deny that almost all global cultures have been living in a patriarchal society for a very long time, and women have been discriminated against for an equally long time. The resurrection of the "Goddess" is a rediscovery and celebration of the female aspect in life and creation.

With regards to the spiritual/religious aspect of God v. Goddess, well, nobody knows what God is, at the end of the day. The Divine is abstract, unfathomable. The human need for an anthropomorphic image of the Divine is as old as humanity itself. Each individual should have the freedom to relate to the divine as they wish.

I myself believe in a divine higher force that creates and permeates all existence in the universe, but I also believe that through the limitations & polarity of our human nature, we are not capable of forming even a remotely adequate picture of the abstract divine and that it is male as well as female,.... or something else entirely...who knows.

But when I pray, I still pray to the Goddess, or universal mother, most of the time, because being a female, I just relate better to the female aspects of creation & I connect better this way. To me, our Earth is essentially female, as well as our human physical nature, which is, as all life, embedded in the repeating cycle of fertility, birth, growth, maturity, infertility, death and rebirth.

But I wouldn' expect from a man to pray to a Goddess. I can perfectly accept that he feels more connected to a male God. As long as we accept and respect the opposite principle, I don't see a problem.
