Full Version: Strang Noise In The Middle Of The Night

So, basically yeah, ...I was asleep when I woke up in the middle of the night and I heard what sounded like a very heavy breathing noise in my room. It sounded a lot like Darth Vader breathing to be more precise.

It only lasted for a short time after I woke up. Maybe it knew that I sensed it? Maybe not...

About 10 minutes later the air conditioner came on, so I don't think that could've been it...

Any suggestions?

Maybe it was Darth Vadar, or another person. It defintily wasn't a ghost. Ghosts do not have bodys, and therefor they can not breathe.

Yeah, my first initial response was that it indeed was someone else and not a ghost.

I did however check all the doors to the rooms of the rest of the people who were in the house because I thought it might of been one of them, but they were all closed. So unless they were breathing THAT hard, then I don't really have any explaination for it.

Not trying to be insulting here, but I have on a couple of occassions had my 'mind' wake up, but not my body....and I could hear myself snoring. It seemed like I was awake, but I was snoring. Could you have heard yourself?

No offense taken.

No, I'm sure it couldn't of been one of those out of body experiences because I woke up in the middle of the night to go use the restroom. I came back to my room and got in my bed, and that's when I heard the noise.

Creepy!

How about the hot water heater filling up, or doing its thing? Could you have been hearing that? I can hear mine at night, and its two rooms away.

The only way to tell is the next time your air conditioning comes on see if beforehand it makes that strange noise. If not, then I would linger more to dreaming still even though you were awake. If it happens again and it's not your air conditioning... well.

I have had it before when I was in my parents house; I used to hear creepy breathing but found out when I followed it that is was coming THROUGH the wall though it sounded like it was inside.

It was my mother snoring ;D

Hmm, maybe.

But I don't know for sure, because this is the first time I've ever heard a noise like this.

Yeah, I'm thinking it was just the air conditioner but not so sure yet. I mean the noise was only for a short time and then my air conditioner started up 10 minutes later. You can tell when the AC starts up in my house because of the same familiar noise it always makes. This noise wasn't familiar at all.

Who knows... maybe somethings wrong with it? I might check it out when I get some time.

I'm usually the type of person to debunk it with logical explaination before I claim it to be anything else, anyways. thumbsup.gif

I'll see if it happens again, tonight.

Ok, cool!

also possibly a waking dream, but that seems a slightly long shot compared to what you described

I'd say you were breathing and didn't realize. If you breathe through your nose when it's congested, it sounds like that. thumbsup.gif

That could've been true if I WAS congested. But I wasn't that night.

Also, I never really breath heavy or deep to where you can hear it coming out of my nostrils. I'm pretty sure I would've known if it was me breathing THAT hard or not.

***Update***

Okay, no joke. I got kinda spooked out like RIGHT NOW and the night before.

Yesterday night, I was at home alone just chillen on the computer going to the sites I usually visit. I'd say around 11 o'clock. Anyways, the computer is in the office and it has two doors. For some reason, I felt a presence or as if someone was watching me. I look behind my right shoulder and I see the door slowly opening halfway for about 2 seconds and then suddenly stop. It wasn't the air conditioner because it wasn't on at the time. It wasn't my dog either because she was locked inside my room.

Needless to say, this really creeped me out. I was going to post about it the night it happened, but I didn't want to because I sort of just forgot about it and passed on it. I just thought it could've been anything at the time so I didn't really give it too much thought until right now.

Okay, so I'm home alone again right now except for me and my dog. She was sitting by me the whole time this occured by the way. Anyways, the air conditioner hadn't turned on again and I heard one of the doors in my house close. It sounded like it came from my room. I went to go check it out but nothing. So I'm walking back to the office and then I hear scratching on the door of my room. Now that's what really got under my skin and bugged me. Once again, couldn't of been my dog because she just remained laying(sp?) down in the office. I went to go check my room one more time, and again nothing...

I don't really have any explaination at the time, but if you don't want to believe me about what I just said then that's cool with me. But, I really am not making one bit of this up just to get some attention. In the past, I've had doors unlocking with no one there to unlock them, doors being banged on, lights being turned on and off, and doors being opened after I've shut them. I don't really know what this means, but it's really sort of starting to bother me now. It seems as if someone or something is trying to mess with me. I really might be angered if it tries to mess with me while I'm asleep or in my room at all because I like my privacy. I don't really know how to describe how I feel. I have very mixed emotions at the moment.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yes, I believe you, I can tell by your words you are shaken still by the incident..
Confront it, and command it to leave (I would command in the name of Jesus Christ, but that's me).

Thanks for believing. I've sort of calmed at the moment and am not as bothered.

I really feel as if it's trying to just communicate with me and only me. The rest of my family have said nothing or had any experiences at all. I've always had an interest in unexplained things or paranormal things, so if it's a good spirit, then it can stay as that's fine with me. But if it's not, well then I hope I can get rid of it.
