depending on your point of view but the whole thing about the bridge collapsing was forseen by the mothman who tried to warn people. But in th ebook (i think) and on a documentary it is mentioned that several eyewitnesses saw a mothman like creature on the bridge several days before the event. this isnt shown in the movie. So some suggest the mothman actually planned the whoole thing. i think the movie is showing more about concidence and stuff. if you want to go deeper into it the richard gere charcater is there to save the life of the police woman who had a dream about herself dying. SO if richards characters wife had never had died, if his car never had broken down, If he never went to thed oor of a couple who accuse him of stalking, if he never met everyone or if he had never doen the things he does in the movie then he would have never saved that ladies life.
Mothman is about concidence and connection its about the supernatural and spirit worlds and everything else in between. Whether you believe in the mothman or in concidence or in richard geres acting skills i think the movie is still pretty good
I agree

Most people saw it too superficially >> creature comes, sh** happens, people die = horror.
I saw it as something a lot bigger, to do with "coincidence", connections, fate... From the moment the leading character's wife sees the mothman-like appearances to the finale with the bridge.
I like the movie better than the book actually, in this case I find the book is much more the 'sensation seeker', as I saw the movie as much more open for personal interpretation, and the inexplicable.
I really like how they did that
