In the last 24 hours an amzing series of events has occured and because of the improbability of it all i thought i would share this with you all here at UM.
Last night at 8pm i layed down on the couch and relaxed while listening to music. The lights were off and i was slowly falling asleep. Then i saw some colorful lights on the wall by my living room window and i figured it was just the cops doing something outside my building. I live in an appartment building downtown and there's lots of traffic outside my living room window. It's no surprise to see cops in the area i live in because i live in the heart of the city. Anyway, there were more cop car lights outside then usual and the sounds of lots of police sirens so i decided to get up and look out the window. I was surprised to see about six cop cars and a cop van outside with thier lights flashing and a bunch of cops were walking around the alleyways near my building. I have no idea what they were looking for and i watched them until they all eventualy got back into thier cars and were leaving. I then went back to lay down on the couch. Only five minutes passed when a sound as loud as a 747 crash landing on the street in front of me shook my building. It scared the bejeesus out of me and my cats and when i looked out the window there was nothing there except two cop cars that were still there that havent left yet. I saw four cops get out of thier cars and run down the street and then disapear from my view.
Theres an appartment building and a japanese restaurant across the street from me and soon many people were outside wondering what the heck happened. Then, just as i was about to go outside myself i saw a white semi-with two trailors attached backing up on a busy street and cars were swerving and honking like crazy wondering what this this guy was doing. Now because i live high up i clued in to what happened when i saw the roof of one of the semi's trailors. It's roof was almost completely torn off and was rolled up like an opened tin of sardines. I couldn't see the underpass from my window but i knew there was one there so i clued in to what must have happened. Im sure you can guess. When the truck finally came to a stop they guy was checked out and he must have been drunk or something because he was handcuffed, arrested, and put into the back of a police van.
I watched for sometime until the trailors and trucks were about to be towed when there was the truck driver again set free and he took his semi and left. Now a police helicopter was buzzing overhead and the cops now swarmed to another building down the block and talked with the doorman there about something.
I thought ok that's that and so went back to the couch and thought ok, now i can relax. Thats what i thought when suddenly i heard a commotion in the hallway in my building. I heard cops talking and there radios talking. They were knocking loudly on some door and then i heard a scuffle and heard a cop say 'your under arrest'. My next door neighbor was arrested from something and he was taken away to jail. I saw him being put into the cop car outside after him being searched and handcuffed.
After that things were quite and i dared not lay down again. I wasn't going to take any chances.
The next day as i walked back from the store to pick up groceries i was dumbfounded to see cops,police cars, railway cops, city trucks, and barrackades around that same underpass that was damaged in the previous nights mishap with the semi truck and trailors. I walked up as close i as could get to the scene and saw yet another semi-truck and it's one trailor jamed right under the underpass with it's roof torn off and there was debris everywere from the bridge and the damaged trailor.
