people have been claiming the end is near since jesus. none of them have been right. no one will ever be. although bush is trying real hard to make it come true.

fact of the matter is Jesus told his disciples he would return during THEIR lifetime.

he never did. that is in the bible.

for the longest time his return wasn't an issue in christianity. someone had just posted that if I can find it I'll drop off the link.

Hey pimpappa, Jesus said very clearly that no one, not even the angels in heaven knew the time of the end... there are no exceptions.. original.gif

Yea, i think a lot of folks forget it.. But, his word made it very clear. The disciples asked him that very question.. and he responded with that.
I think we have a while to go too.. Despite how bad it is, I believe it still could be much much worse..

*edit*
and I forgot to say earlier, remember he said to beware there would be a lot of people claiming thngs like that.. but to ignore them. The NT gives us a lot of clues.. we just don't know the time.

Of course if it does happen, at least we won't have to listen to the guy say "I told you so". tongue.gif

LOL, true, true.

Perhaps he did return, to another place under another name and situation. Perhaps the Holy Prophet Mani is one example. Anyway, Christ is supposed to be made continually manifest by his followers. Now, I call that a challenege!

All this talk about when the world will come to an end brought to mind the Mayan calendar, which ends in 2012. It ends it 2012 because that's when they predicted the world will come to an end. I'm not sure how much I believe that but, at the same time, I find it interesting. I'm not sure if this post has any relevance to the discussion on this thread, but I thought I would share it.

RW is just another end-time nutter who sees the fulfillment of prophecy in every news headline. As mentioned above, these people are deluding themselves if they believe a dead Jewish man is coming back to life to judge the world so forth and so on. This was supposed to have happened within the lifetime of the disciples. Paul, especially, believed this to be true--warning people not to marry etc. Never happened ... never will.

Yes, that's just what I was thinking. I am not one for quoting Bible verses, but that no-one but The Father should know the exact time is quoted a few times:

Mark Chapter 13 Verse 32: But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

It really will be as a Thief in the night.

Brava!

On the other hand, many predictors did finally see their end.

As long as there are saints and "good" people in this world, God will never destroy it, I really believe this.

It does say noone will know.Until the time of the two witnesses when they will announce who they are and preach the word of God for 1266 days until they are finally killed in Israel.I read up on it.this guy could be who he says guys.I read most of his book .I dunno anymore!Religion is sooo confusing!
