Tidal Waves

tidal waves come crashing down
on the shore-side little towns
washing out their villages
that dare be built on the ground's edge

coming from so far away
you spot it out across the bay
getting bigger as it gains
no surfer rides upon this wave

water gathers as it builds
the oceans floor creates these thrills
water is infinity
watch it now wash over me

i walk along the sandy beach
where the oceans water meets
i feel it wash over my feet
the ocean sways to its own beat

now sometimes water must get mad
when it gathers then it slams
upon the earth with such a force
and makes its people feel remorse

i never wonder why it does
it makes a fist and throws a punch
at those of us who drink from it
water's awe inspiring fits

now water come encompass me
swallow me into your sea
then allow me birth again
tidal waves devour men

RIPTIDES

Roaming the beach in my swimsuit of red,
I strutted, then picked up a shell,
Perhaps bending over was why the guys fled,
To the water I dove in like hell,
I crested a wave in my billowing skirt,
Damn, folks, then I like to died!
Evidently my "payback" for trying to flirt...
Seems I was sucked out to sea in a riptide!!
