Another Superhero Movie! "Thor" is Coming!

Posted by Scott Weinberg on Thursday, Jun. 14, 2007, 06:36 AM

Scott Weinberg writes: "He's a Norse god with a giant hammer. Bring on the bad guys!

According to the L.A. Times, the script for "Thor" has been written by Mark Protosevich, the writer of "The Cell," "Poseidon," and this winter's "I Am Legend."

Early word indicates that Matthew Vaughn is being courted to direct. You'll remember Vaughn as the guy who was about to direct "X-Men: The Last Stand," but bailed and headed off to do "Stardust" instead. (He also directed "Layer Cake.")

More word on this Marvel project when it becomes available. Because if there's one thing we can't have enough of, it's superhero movies.

According to IMDB it will be coming out in 2009 and does not have a cast yet.

The plot line: Partially disabled medical student Dr. Donald Blake discovers his heretofore unknown alter ego, the Norse warrior, Thor.

I hope it is done well , and follows the comic book story line. Some movies are ruined by Writers "Creative Imput". An example, The Super Girl Movie. Great special effect, lame story line.

And the casting will have to be spot on. They need someone who is rather tall and bulky as well as talented. I wonder if that guy from X-Men, the one with body armour would fit the character? Just dye his hair blond?

Edit: his name is: Daniel Cudmore and he is 6'8"

If they cast this wrong, I will walk to Hollywood and punch someone in the mouth with my own Uru Hammer. It's what ruined Daredevil.

LOL! I know, there have been many, many, many movies where I was wondering who was eating funny brownies when they cast the actors. It is usually not because of acting ability but the bankability. All about $$$$, not really about the art anymore. no.gif

Make a special actor just for this part. Start pumping him with steriods and Human grouth hormons.
Oh wait. Just get a Pro Wresler! laugh.gif

Gads, No! Ugh! No more wrestlers turn actors. This is the guy I think would fit the part: linked-image
