I don't think it's a blue shark. 10 meters long, estimated at 5 tons in weight.
From the pictures it looks enormous, do y'all think its a blue shark?

I don't think that's a blue shark. It says
here that they grow between 60kg and 80kg. I don't think it's a blue shark if it truely weighs 5 tons. To me this sounds like what some people in the cryptozoology forum would call proof of the cryptid megaladon. Share it with them there. Oh and I'd really like to see pictures of its teeth. It would be easier to identifiy if we had pictures of the teeth.

I agree with the notion that it's a basking shark. No way is that a blue shark. I've seen enough blue sharks in person to know.

Due to the smiliarities between the Chinese one and the photos in this story, I think it's a basking shark.

What about a Greenland shark?

Yup I have to go with the majority on this one and say basking shark. Calling it a blue shark must have been a mix up in the translation or someone really doesn't know there sharks very well. Maybe frogfish will stop by and confirm this.

Yea I was thinking basking shark as well, I like the photos from the Portuguese link Schnaffler posted, looking at the first photo and switching from the shark to the people, well it just makes me go wow.

As blue sharks are one of the smaller species of shark, I seriously doubt that it is a blue in any way or form. I couldn't get the original posts story up (believe it has been removed at the other end) so could not see for definate.
