Hi All

I just thought that I would share with you a picture my daughter had taken with her camera phone. My family and me took a visit to Bolsover Castle on the Easter bank holiday 07 as we were looking around my 15yr old daughter took a picture of my 5yr old son standing next to a big fireplace and to everyones surprise we noticed a image of what looks to be a young girl in the fireplace and looks to be reaching out to my son.
we would love to know what this image is and who it could be, as my daughter finds it just so fascinating as this was not the only image that was captured on that same day i captured on video a image that just materialized then disappears, orbs floating across the video screen + strange whispering voices caught on our video phones, My husband took lots of pictures with strange lights and orbs in most of the pics.
please feel free to use & analyze this picture I would be fascinated to see what it actually is, is it ghostly or the light?

WOW That is quite a photo and clearly you can see the woman's face, so I would say it's an apparition. Being in the fireplace makes me sense she died in a fire? Do you know the history of the house or the land. Good shot!!!!

Sorry...I just don't find it as compelling as the rest of you do. It 'looks' like a little girl in the same way clouds look like certain things. Our mind is always searching for patterns in light and dark, and the human shape is one of the most identifiable.

He is adorable. How anyone cannot see her face is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy beyond me LOL..

All i know is that a young servant girl work at the castle in the medieval times and legend goes she supposed to have thrown her baby in the fireplace....maybe its her sprit try to keep by son away from the fire???

if anyone can see what i see then you can see her face it quite clear and her hair looks to be a one long braid down her back she is leaning forward and it looks like her arm is reaching out towards my son,

Ohhh I see, but somehow that is so sad. On the upside she was trying to keep your little one from being burned in the fireplace. GREAT SHOT!!!

I can clearly see the outline of a woman's face....

It is very detailed, you can see her hair, her nose and eyes. She has alot of ectoplasm around her, below her neck but that is one of the best apparitions I have ever seen on here...

Sorry, all I see are stains on the fireplace wall that slightly resemble a person. I am really, really trying to see it!!!! (I promise!)

LOL Now I feel determined to show you. Its worth seeing. See if black and white helps, if not, I give up. You can at least see her eyes in hair on this one.

I kind of see something, but I'm not sure if it's because I want to see it. Looking at the original picture, the form doesn't have any dimension - it's just flat against the wall of the fireplace.

In the original I was amazed, but it takes time to analyze pictures, but this one is just too obvious and clear. The form is not to have any dimension, she is dead. She is in the fireplace and there is a great deal of white ectoplasm below her face, but I had to look twice to see her arm reaching for the boy. Its not because you want to see it, its because you do see it. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA>>LOL..

Most ghost pictures I have seen have dimension - they are not 2-dimensional.

Anyway, I think you are better at seeing these things. Lordy knows, I suck at finding the ghosties!

I think the only problem with this thread is that you clearly stated what you saw, which makes other people more likely to see it even if it is just shadows.

I feel its more effective to post photos without describing anything you might see that way everyone can compare what they see and then draw conclusions from that.

I totally agree! . I really cant make out anything but it seemed like I was looking at the picture, and my mind was looking for a girls face so i saw them in like three different places. (kinda like the cloud theory) dont get me wrong, i am all for a ghost picture. i just dont know if im seeing what everyone else is seeing.

Well, I see her too. I thought to look for a figure first, because I was searching for someone to reach for the cute adorable little boy. But after looking at the original picture and at the subsequent enhanced ones, I see the face. She is looking toward the camera, right? I see her, and I think her face is unmistakingly fully formed. I only see her head though.

I do what I always do when someone posts a photo on here - I don't read the post but look at the photo first (to avoid as much suggestion as possible), then go back and read the text.

I don't see anything paranormal here - just light and shadow on an old fireplace.

Thank Goodness someone else sees it. I always look at the picture first as well, as posts can be long and too descriptive, or are tales of the unkown. All I can see is her head and face as well. I do believe as I said, the white, is a massive amount of ectoplasm. I can sort of make out her arm reaching for the boy, but that is hard to see. Her face IS fully formed for sure, hair, eyes, nose but the rest is white ecto..Her hair is blonde and is either braided or long and curly I cant tell. Good call..

Thanks for all your comments, i do appreciate them , i recommend anyone visit Bolsover castle in Derbyshire UK its a very atmospheric place to be in also very imposing to see.

I live in the US so my chances are slim of going to the UK, however I wanted to say, you captured a great spirit..GOOD JOB!!!
