11-Year-Old Carjack Suspect Charged Fri Jun 15, 7:04 PM ET

An 11-year-old Detroit boy was charged Friday with carjacking and a felonious assault in Dearborn Heights.

Prosecutors say the boy approached an adult male in the Farmer Jack parking lot in Dearborn on June 14.

The boy was wielding a hammer at the victim and demanded his keys.

The man refused and called the police. The Dearborn Heights Police quickly responded and arrested the 11-year-old suspect.

The judge at the Juvenile Detention Facility in Detroit would not allow the 11-year-old boy out on bond and set the next court date for June 26.

The child's attorney believes the wrong boy is being held.

"The alleged victim said he saw a 16 year-old, this child is 11 years old," said Attorney Sarah Robinson.

some 11 year olds don't look 11
Xackek
I'm 15 but I look 17 according to other people o.o. Eitherway, the 11 year old should know better than not to use a hammer when attempting to carjack a person -_-

Geez. What a idiot.

I'm an adult. But I look younger. x.x

March him down to the same parking lot.
Force him to publicly apologize to the man he accosted, with a large crowd of witnesses to see it.
Then have him drop his trousers and give him 10 whacks across the butt with a ping pong paddle.
And hard whacks at that.
And if the man he accosted wants to wield the paddle, let him.
It'd straighten that youngster out in a hurry.
At the least, he'd think twice about the consequences of his actions.
Public humiliation is a good deterrent.
Want to restore discipline and safety to American schools? Bring back the ol' hack paddle.
It striaightened me out when I was in junior high. I started getting wild, hanging with a group of ne'er do wells. Normally, I was a good kid.
Well, one day after I got six hard swats on the butt, and my parents were notified, I realized I was headed down a bad path. The "friends" I hung with were causing all kinds of mischief, and setting me up as the fall guy. Some friends. They never got a swat but I sure did.
Sometimes, a child needs a quick swat to set him thinking, or to get his attention.

The attorney I had at age 6 had better angles than that to get me outta my bad situations. He needs to find a new guy.

You are right in all manners except in using a ping pong paddle here are a few tools of the trade:3 whacks with a bull whip,a real paddle 3 inches thick,a cane"like they use in Japan " across his back,or a coat hanger like in the movie"Mommy Dearest",or Electrical shock"not enough to kill him but enough to let him know car jacking isn't a good idea. grin2.gif

Yeah, ages can be very misleading. I carry my passport with me at all times because I get carded often...I'm 26 by the way wink2.gif

I could imagine the younger kids(and I'm 17) are crazy now a days. I work at a grocery store we had 13year olds the other day stealing a 30pack of beer. The younger they are the worst they act now it seems.

Ya i know right? Kids are way to impressionable nowadays. I don't know if it's the parents not beating their kids enough, or if theres something in the air.

wow... his future's looking really bright... great start kid thumbsup.gif

in regards to age, there was a young mum on a current affairs program awhile ago, and every time the reporter said the girl was eleven, I had to keep turning the volume up in case I was mishearing, cause she looked at least 16 to me dontgetit.gif kids that look older tend to take advantage of that... kinda like being underage and having your older looking friend purchase your cigarettes cause they're less likely to be asked for i.d innocent.gif

Yeah. I know. They're getting to unruly right now. And they think it's "cool" to act rebelious. I find it annoying as hack.
