Do any of you other guitarists remember your first guitar or the first time you ever played for a member of the opposite sex?

My first electric was an SG copy that my aunt bought me at a pawn shop when I was like 14 or so. It was black and red and I thought I was Angus Young except not as skinny!

But the thing weighed a ton!

My first amp was given to me by a guy that went to my aunt's church, it didn't have any knobs or an on/off switch. You just plugged it in and jumped back and tried not to get electrocuted.

The first girl that I ever played for was named Tange' and it rhymed with Angie and she gave me the biggest smile and said...

"so... what song was that supposed to be?"

yup

Yep GV That's the way a lot of girls feel. Brings out something that soothes them; who knows; it's an aphrodisiac to see the creative part of a man I guess. LMAO... wink2.gif

My first guitar was a really cheap acoustic when I was 13. I learned 3 chords and it went into the closet. My first electric was a white Fender Telecaster...my roommate pawned it while I was at work. Never got it back.
My next electric was a really heavy cheap red thing from JC Penny catalogue.

I don't remember the first time I played for the opposite sex.

That was pleasant, thanks! wub.gif
Did y'all improvise?
TooFarGone
We were just jamming around the song Today by Smashing Pumpkins......he's playing the verse chords, and I am just improvising around the main melody of the song.

Give the song a listen, and you can easily tell which parts I am talking about.

Well, guitarists, here's a question:

I'm looking to upgrade from my no-brand knock-off Strat Tele fusion piece of junk I have now (it's not really as bad as I make it out to be, but the fact it's borrowed is also an issue. I do plan on keeping it for slide work, it's got a high action on it. But, I digress). I've narrowed it down to two main choices, with plans to buy an electric sitar at some later date. My primary inspiration at the moment is the 60s psychadelic music with a good dose of Hindustani (sitars and all that), thoughI like and am open to playing pretty much any style of rock aside from the harder metal and country. Thus, I'd need some level of versatility. I'm also looking for something relatively distinctive, which is why I'm not going for a strat or a Les Paul or an SG.

So, with that in mind, what would I be better off with?

Fender Esquire (telecaster variant with unique sound circuts)

(a telecaster could be converted into one, so I may take that route.)

Epiphone Casino (full hollowbody, used by Beatles, principally Lennon)

Feel free to reccomend any other model in that same price range or cheaper, though. I'm still open to others, and have been scanning the local pawn shops for anything else of interest.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
