I've got a genuine '90 sunburst Fender Strat in mint condition sitting around collecting dust. I brought it years ago in the hope that one day i could play it like SRV. rolleyes.gif Right now i'm lucky if i can even play a single note. hmm.gif

Two Texan cool cats... SRV & Johnny Copeland R.I.P Boys.

Thanks man.
Yeah i have the resonator tuned to open G for the blues.
Funny thing is, the resonator is a b**** to photograph it acts like a mirror so you get the reflection of what ever is behind you on the guitar.lol.

I just started playing electric guitar like 3 months ago, I can play a few songs but I'm nothing great. Some guitarists I dig are SRV, Jimi, Synister Gates, and some guy from youtube lol (search canon d electric guitar).
distortedpandy
I've tried playing guitar. I'm pathetic. laugh.gif

I'd rather beat on things. yes.gif But I have many many guitar favs, Allan Holdsworth, Richie Blackmore, Jason Becker, uhh Clapton...I can't think right now. laugh.gif
MissMelsWell
I don't play guitar, but I can play sax and clarinet *cringe*, I'm just not very good at it anymore.

As far as guitarists go... I'm fond of SRV, Steve Stevens (Billy Idol's long time guitarist), Tom Petty, BB King, Neil Schoen, there are probably lots of other ones too

I can play the guitar. It's all I really did when I was younger.. I didnt like high school much and mainly played guitar.. like I went through a stage where I did the Steve Vai thing(his practise thing)... I would practice different things for an hour each time.. So an hour on stretching.. alternate picking.. scales.. tapping..stuff like that.. then maybe an hour just playing to the radio and improvisation. So I would at least do a seven hour day during the weekdays and usually finish with a few hours at night just casually playing along to the tv ads. I did that for ages... almost 2yrs maybe. I almost slept with my guitar when I was younger lol. So I first started playing Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden riffs and stuff like that.. then I moved onto Metallica and the solos cause it was faster, and then onto Vai and Satriani.... and now I just play along to whatever. So I dont practise like I used to.. but have a go every now and then, so I keep an Ibanez and a Boss ME-50 around just for fun.

I went out yesterday and bought a brand new Dean Vendetta XM electric.

I couldn't believe the price, talk about getting your money's worth!

Beautiful guitar

TooFarGone
I've been playing for about 4 years. Got this nice Segovia acoustic, and a piece of crap Peavey Raptor tongue.gif. I also play mandolin.

There isn't really anything specific that I play, nor do I have any certain guitarists that I idolize much. That being said, I love Jonny Greenwood and Ed O'Brian from Radiohead.

Besides you of course, you know that tongue.gif

And you rocked that Floyd song!

I'm trying to learn to play. Most of what I do as of now is experimentation with sound.

All I've got at the moment is a red off-brand Strat. Not a particularly good one either, but it serves its purpose well enough.

I am actually in the process of recording a song, though. (a reworking of sorts of George Harrison's "Within You Without You" from Sgt. Pepper's. A surprisingly simple song to play, actually: it's almost entirely on one string)

EDIT: Oh, uh, favorite guitarists? Uh, well, Clapton and Hendrix and Harrison, of course. Mark Knopfler and, uh, damn, whoever played for the Clash (Strummer and someone else...) are high up in my eyes as well.

GUITAR IS HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!! lmao. No really, if a man played classical guitar for me I'd melt. Anyone know Karl Wolff (NOT the Nazi dude; the guitarist). Well anyway, I love him.

Here's a little u-tube of a guy I think is cool too:

I dunno, nothing aligns with the vibrations of one's soul quite like the tambura and sitar. At least in my view.
Teej
I started off playing bass at around 6 and I'm much better at it, but lately I've been much more interested in guitar. It's much easier to jam by yourself on guitar than on bass.
MadMachine
I have a cheap imitation Strat with zebra stripes. I can't really play anything, but I practice.
Also, my high E string broke a couple months back and I haven't bought replacements yet... I'm pretty much limited to practicing Power Chords and alternate picking. laugh.gif

As for my guitar idols:
HIZAKI (Hizaki Grace Project/Versailles/Solo stuff)
Teru (Hizaki Grace Project/??)
Yngwie Malmsteen (??)
Herman Li (DragonForce)

No particular order.
TooFarGone
Ohhhh, ambitions to be a shredder? I was never really big into listening to shredders, but I still like to watch it occasionally.

Certainly pushes me to get on top of my game!
Cradle of Fish
I might be the only person in the world who likes Harmonica and Sax more than guitars.

My favourite guitarist would probably be Angus Young. Hendrix is the greatest, but Angus Young is the most energetic musician I think I've ever seen.
TooFarGone
I love harmonica........nothing beats sitting down with an acoustic, struming some chords and blowing the harp.
She-ra
Don't get me wrong...I love guitar but there's room for all musical instuments in my heart...LOL. The only diference is play classical guitar and I become jellllllllllloooooooo...lmao

xo, She-ra

I can't spell worth crap today!! I'm tired...lol...I just mispelled crap to be carp...lmao

God, I screwed up big. Completely forgot to mention Neil Young earlier....

Had a bit of good luck yesterday. Found a Yamaha acoustic guitar in the room my church's youth group uses, asked around a bit, found out no one knew who's it was. So, I ended up getting a replacement for the one that got smashed. Sounds pretty good, too.
