If mirrors need light to work, what happens if you put night vision goggles on in the dark and look at a mirror?
i would realy like to know the answer to this but unfortunitly i havent got a pair of night vision goggles to try it so could some out their please tell me
Night vision goggles also need light to work, they amplify low levels of light to a level that the human eye can detect.
If there is sufficient light for the night vision goggles to work then you will see a reflection as normal. However if it really is dark (i.e. is no light at all rather than just insufficient for the eye to work) then you won't see anything because:
- there is no light to reflect off the mirror
- there is no light for the night vision goggles to work.
