Night vision goggles also need light to work, they amplify low levels of light to a level that the human eye can detect.

If there is sufficient light for the night vision goggles to work then you will see a reflection as normal. However if it really is dark (i.e. is no light at all rather than just insufficient for the eye to work) then you won't see anything because:
  1. there is no light to reflect off the mirror
  2. there is no light for the night vision goggles to work.
