im tryin to find information on the westside boys (gang)... as said in the movie sleepers.. and i remeber hearing about them.. can anyone tell me about them.. or a reference link. thanks!

i wasnt referin to the movie.. but they were called the WESTIES... a gang in manhattan!

I think the westies were a faction of the irish mob in New York,,led by Gerry Coonan and Micky Featherstone.

The West Side Boys were an armed rebel group led by “Brigadier” Foday Kallay, an ex-army officer and a notorious murderer. Relics of a violent civil war, they paralysed Sierra Leone throughout the 90s, recruiting members by abducting and training children. They had hideouts in remote jungles and funded their arsenal with money from conflict diamonds - diamonds sold in order to fund rebel activities and civil war. These conflict diamonds would also fund the heavy use of alcohol, marijuana and heroin.

thanks msan but not the westside boys i was talkin bout.. i found the anwser myself.. they were called the WESTIES, and they are located in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan... 20s-60' there were a mass murder gang... you can go to wikipedia and type in Westies... and or Hell's Kitchen

"westies" was a name given to this New York gang by the press and police..The original gang dates back to the 19th century, and then taken over again in the 60's.....The infilitrated into what was then known as "Hell's Kitchen", and considered more small-time than the mafia...although still dangerous....

I think these guys are right! If you still want to find more information about them, you should start looking for stuff related with drugs… or drug rehab program… this is something usual in gangs.
