Ok, I was lieing in bed and couldn't get to sleep (had too much caffine). Anyways I look at my cell and it says 3:30 AM. Its still pitch black out. I close my eyes and roll over to try to get to sleep but of course my Cell phone rings. I open my eyes and its extremely bright out. I talk to my mom for about 5 minutes and hang up. I look at the phone and it says 5:32 AM! I skipped a whole 2 hours of my life. I know I wasnt asleep cus I was still extremely tired, plus when I wake up I always have crusties on my eyes and a sore throat. anyways, yeah. wats happened? any oppinions?
Aztec Warrior
Sounds like missing time. That usually accompanies alien abduction. My hunch is, however, that you fell asleep.

You should get allergy medication and see a doctor about that post nasal drip...that is what is probably causing the sore throat.
The most likely cause of your "loss of time" is a loss of consciousness. Go to bed earlier, and don't drink coffee so late in the day...you will notice that your sleep will be deeper and not be so "blink of the eye" like. That happens when your brain doesn't go into deep enough sleep because of body abuse (like alcohol, drugs, caffeine).

thats for the tip on alergy medicine. That sore throat really bugs me. Anyways, I cant help gonin to bed earlier cus I sleep in so its still same amount of sleep. I go to bed at 2 and wake up at 12. And I dont drink coffee just Diet Coke. and I dont do drugs or alchohol, I'm only 13. its not like I drink a six pack and smoke a pack a day.

HA! Ok, well, maybe if it happens too often you should see the doctor about it. It could mean you have sleep apnea or some other condition that is interfering with your sleep quality. Good for you for not doing drugs! Keep it up, and you will go far in life. You seem really smart for your age.
inkblot
You mistook the 5 for a 3. Either that, or you fell asleep and didn't notice. I suggest consulting a doctor if you still have trouble sleeping.
boorite
This morning I slept through my alarm and got to work at noon. I am possessed by sloth devils.

But seriously, you either read the time wrong or fell asleep without realizing it.

PS: Uh, what inkblot just said.

lol, thnx. Anyways, I used to have some sleep disorder that induced night terrors. They're like nightmares except worse because they feel so real that it affects me physical and makes me move around in my sleep and do w/e it is I'm doing in the dream. For example, say I'm dreaming of a giant spider and I kick it, I may get out of bed and start running around kicking things and breaking stuff without knowing it. and btw, I did NOT mistake a 3 for a 5. I may be a little slow but I'm not that slow.
boorite
Come on, you wouldn't have to be "slow," just mistaken.

Night terrors are horrible.
DarkCaptain
tell me about it. I
DarkCaptain
oops, my bad. anyways, tell me about it. I had em for years. wasnt till about 3 years ago when the finally stopped. anyways, the doctor had some fancy diagnosis but I cant remember right now.

All I can say is that you're going to have a deja vu, since this incident occured. Reason being, missing time for the present. You jumped in future and jumped back to present. Watch, you'll see.

if u say so. I hate the feeling of deja vu. I have it so often though I am used to it

The same thing happens to me. I hear the alarm clock: time 7.10a. I decide I can roll back over for another 10 minutes. I close my eyes for a second and next thing I know the clock says 7.50a, and I'm late for school. It usually happens when I have stayed up late doing schoolwork (or playing on the Internet). My advice, get to bed earlier. Sometimes it helps taking a sleep-aid like Tylenol PM.
Worbat
This has happened to mew a few times, but ive found that i have fallen asleep in a blink of an eye and then drempt of staying awake looking at my clock seeing the time it should of been if i was awake athen woken up and saw the real time, it can feel quite real but is realy nothing to be extreamly worried about.
inkubus
"I know I wasnt asleep cus I was still extremely tired" you misread the cellphone bro. It's an easy mistake to make regularly. At 3 am after a long day it's definetly a high possibility.
ufo guy
ive had that happen
Kwarantyne
I used to love it when that happened! I hate going to sleep, just because of the fact the you pretty much are immobile and can't do anything. I know, wierd. But anyway, I used to go to sleep at about 6 on X-mas Eve and woke up in the blink of an eye. Instant goodies!
F-16 Falcon
Yeah, I, too, have had that happen. I hate it when I drift off to sleep during a show I'm watching, and I don't even remember falling asleep. That makes me so mad.

Deja vu is natural. We all have it. There will come a time where you won't have the feeling, but you'll know it's a deja vu.
