Who has seen this new show called Destination Truth. It comes on Wednesdays at 8 on the Sci Fi channel. it is about a team of explorers traveling the globe looking for mysterious creatures. So far, they have encountered:
a living iguanodon
a mermaid
Naga
ghosts
Ropen
Chupacabra
They captured very little on video, but I think it is a good show.

Hmm. I watched the show on the living Iguanadon. I had never actually heard of the story. But the show really didn't offer any difinative proof either; all they claimed to see was some rustling in the bush. So I'm still on the fence about the iguanadon. Now this is only coming from watching one show, but like most paranormal reality shows, I think this one is more for entertainment than cryptid enlightenment.
And I would be curious to know what this show "dug up" on the Ropen.

Sounds entertaining at the very least, hopefully this will come to Sci-Fi Australia.

As a matter of fact, I have a tape playing on the 'Ropen' as I type. They did capture the lights in the sky related to it's bio-luminescense. But that's all. I'm not sure I put alot of trust in the Sci-Fi channel. They have to get weekly ratings. It's very entertaining though. Maybe they'll be the ones to get the proof we're looking for. Richie.

I've watched the show now, each episode.
The host is a bit much for me. First, he seems very demeaning to the 'locals' of whatever area they are in...secondly, his smugness is palpitable.
But, the premise of the show is interesting....its enjoyable, if you can get past Mr. Full of Himself as the host.

Agreed about the host, but this stupid show sucked me in, like Springer's new show on NBC. Here's the upcoming air dates and topics:
4. Big Foot ad Nahuelito 6/27/2007 Reviews 0.00
Josh and his crew visit Buenos Aires to investigate claims of a serpentine monster. Meanwhile, a Bigfoot-like creature is investigated in Malaysia.
5. Mamlambo and Tokeloshe 7/11/2007 Reviews 0.00

6. Lobizon and Pombero 7/18/2007 Reviews 0.00

Its in the same vain as last seasons show for me with Rob from Survivor, lol I ve already forgotten the name. More entertainment than true research. However I was one of the VERY few people who liked the show with Rob as I think he's somewhat funny. I know, I know, but still...

I'd just like to reiterate what I said about this new SciFi Channel show in the "Ropen" thread:
QUOTE
I fully expect the show to be a piece-o-crap, especially beacuse they use the word "truth" in the title.
I think that sums it up quite nicely for me, anything created by The SciFi Channel is destined to suck mightily and they're track record speaks fot itself. The only program that they show that dosen't have me shaking my head saying "who possibly looks at these shows and decides that they DON'T suck?", would be Ghost Hunters.

Ya, I agree with Lycan. If you haven't seen it, go find it and make a decesion for yourself. (Note: I didn't find any episodes on YouTube or Google Video) I don't think it's the greatest nor will it turn up any real proof. But watch it and make a decision for yourself. However, I would like to see the one this Wednsday on the sea serpent. I do love anything on water beasties.
Interesting side note: "Destination Truth" is also a song by Siam Shade, a Japanese rock group. So if you find a song in Japanese when you look up the show, don't worry. You're not crazy (much).

Anything is better than the endless abyss of Star Trek and Stargate that the Australian Sci-Fi channel is.

I have found the program entertaining. I agree with a few here that the host does seem to be a bit full of himself, and somewhat pushy. Pushy does have it's place sometimes, when you want to get things done. The guy doesn't seem to lack in the guts dept, although some of his stunts do boarder on being a bit crazy. Going into a unstable cave, with limited access and at night comes to mind (Ropen episode). The only real flaws I can see in the shows investigative techniques is that the time they spend investigating is only a few days at most. More time might lead to better results, especially considering the type of gear their using. Who knows? Maybe they will catch something. Anything is possible, we will just have to wait and see.

Who caught last nights new episode? They were tracking down some bigfoot in malaysia and Nessie's Argentinian cousin. They actually found some bigfoot prints and a strange growling noise on tape. I thought it was really good. But they didn't do so well on the lake monster segment. Just some unidentified splashing. The next show won't come on for another two weeks.

Yes, the host is quite full of himself and does not treats the locals well.
It was interesting to me but of course I take all of these shows with a grain of salt, so to speak.

Destination Truth is simply ANOTHER SCI-FI blunder that tries to "investigate" paranormal activity. But, like many reality paranormal shows it is more about drama. Also, the main guy on the show is an actor, not a researcher. Overall, the show is nothing more than a disgrace to true researchers in the field.

I started watchin it too but like many others, the rude and obnoxious host drove me away from the show.
