I can't exactly remember the first movie, but I recently started buying the DVDs for my sci-fi collection, and I am completely hooked on the X-Files. I am buying the 2nd season on DVD this weekend.
There has been numerous confirmation on the second X-Files movie. According to the information that I've gathered, all of the cast are signed on; Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, etc...
http://digg.com/movies/Producer_confirm_X_...el_In_the_WorksThis is going to be exciting.

Oh God...I hope not.
The series really stumbled at the end, and with the finale, died an ignoble death.

I really miss the X-files. The early ones, with Duchovny and Anderson, when there was a new story every week (with some interwoven threads of a continuous story) were always the best. The show did get very disappointing at the end.
I enjoyed the movie and would love to see Part II. I wonder how the stars are holding up?

I think the series was at its best around seasons four and five.

I'm moving this from the Paranormal Books, TV & Media forum to the Movies, Music, Books & Television Shows forum.
Although the title can be a bit ambiguous, the Paranormal Books, TV & Media forum is intended for discussion about factual films, programmes, etc. on the paranormal. Fictional movies are better suited to the second of the forums.

I own all the X-Files seasons and I'm currently about to watch Season 4. The first movie was sweet and I had no idea they were planning to make a second. I'm glad they kept the cast and it should be exciting!

Been hearing talk of a second X-Files movie....starting to wonder if its actually going to happen. The earlier seasons were interesting and fun to watch, various topics - mysteries.

Scully: It obviously wasn't a vampire.
Mulder: Why not?
Scully: Because they don't exist.

So far it is just a rumour whether this movie gets made or not. Chris Carter sold the rights, so it is up to Fox movies to give the go ahead.

I heard about the movie on the radio-- it was nice synchronicity, because I had just started watching through the series again with a friend, who had found the DVDs. I missed seasons 4 and 5 completely when I moved overseas. Anyway, I heard that the movie will not involve the "conspiracy" side of the show. Rather, it will involve a "monster of the week" kind of storyline.

Well, I hope the second movie has Scully doing lots of gratuitious nudity.
What?
What ... ?
Why are all the women in this post glaring at me?
Sheesh ... I only said what all the other guys are wishing ... heh
