Date of sighting?

Why do I ask this? Because IF this is something real - it would have been on the NEWS and reported by other people, a lot more people! So is there away to confirm the Date and Time of this supposed sighting?

I have never seen this tape before but I know GD well thats not no missile.

Yes, that is definitely not a missile.

Sorry, folks, no UFO hyperdrive here. This an evening rocket launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base. It's very beautiful, and not really that unusual. What you're seeing is the exhaust plume from the booster lit brightly by sunlight as the vehicle climbs out of darkness into the light of the setting sun.

Based on the shape of the plume in the video and the bright white dot in the sky (Venus), I'm just about positive that this is a video of the November 8, 1997 launch of a Delta II carrying five Iridium communications satellites. Check out the still photos of the launch here.

Awww, i thought it was an alien.

Best guess is it's an extremely high-altitude vapor trail (high enough to still be sunlit) generated by a reentry.

Hmmm. Missle? No. UFO? Possibly.

Remember that you're seeing it from afar, Delta II rockets are quite large. If you do a search on Google images you'll see.



So what makes you think it's not missile?

Really is a classic missile test. Vapour trail, shape of the tail, everything. I am afraid there is no mystery here.

It didn'tlook like a missle to me because it was just like a smal circular object just floating along. When I think of Missles, I think of long, thin, pointy front and flared out back. I dunno? I'm new so don't beat me up too much. Thanks.
