I grew up in Kingwood, Texas, which is about 5 miles from Humble, Texas, both suburbs of Houston, Texas. I have a few points to add, however I haven't read the whole thread so some items may already have been covered:

1. In May 2008, 3 Kingwood teenagers dug up the body of Willie Simms, to smoke pot from the skull. (disgusting, I know). His body came from the cemetery located at 1960@59N. Here are the additional links to confirm such data:

http://www.click2houston.com/news/16207127/detail.html

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~usgenweb...is/humble-n.htm

2. There is a nightclub called "Kickdawgs" in Atascocita on 1960. It used to be called "Flashback". It is a DIVE. However, the owner, approximately 7-8 years ago, his name was "Al" committed suicide in the back, outside the store behind, and was found by bartenders. I believe it was from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The bartenders have had several disturbances from the ghost of "Al". I was given a first-hand account by the bartenders.

One occurance was from a bartender that was closing for the night. She turned off the black lights and said, "Al, now you don't turn these off". She walked to the front of the club to exit, and turned and looked back at the bar, and the lights flipped back on. She walked back to the bar, freaked out, turned the lights off, and "Al" turned the lights back on immediately. She left them alone and ran out quickly and exited.

Another occurance was from 2 bartenders closing for the night. Christmas lights line the front outside sign, and the bartenders are responsible for unplugging the lights every night. As both bartenders walked out (they were also telling stories about "Al" at the time of this incident), they realized that the Christmas lights were still on. One bartender (1) stayed outside watching the lights and one bartender(2) unlocked the door and re-entered the club to unplug the lights. Bartender (2) came back outside to exit, and bartender (1) said the lights did not go off. Bartender (2) went inside, and grabbed the end of the extension cord to prove that the Christmas lights were unplugged and were not connected to electricity. The lights on the sign outside were still lit, and were not plugged in. Both bartenders locked up in a hurry, were very scared, and left as quickly as possible.

I am quite a skeptic when it comes to supernatural activity, but these kinds of things really freak me out!!!

Really interesting as I never heard of this and I know where this place is at. I live about one mile from this place in Atascocita. This is the first time I heard about this and I will now check it out. Let me know when you decide to visit this place.

A friend of mine, who also went along on our Negro Cemetary excursion, worked at Flashback during the time the poster is talking about and she has never mentioned anything about ghosts or "Al". I'll have to ask her about it.

Humble - Old Golf and Games - This area is now a church but was abandon for years only a haven to cults and ghosts. The ghosts here are the result of being disturbed by man moving their graves. About 97 percent of every sighting in this area the ghost appear as a rotting corpse. There?s a bench just outside the building where every night there a white figure that sits on the far side of the bench. The figure is that of a human. The corpse like ghosts can also be seen in the woods across from the building wandering through the turned over gravestones and fallen church. IF YOU ATEMPT TO GO TO THIS AREA PLEASE USE EXTREAME CAUTION, THERE HAVE BEEN MURDERS AND BODIES UNCOVERED IN THE WOODS.

Humble - Old Dollar Theater - This Theater is located along a area believed to be haunted by demons and demonic forces. It is part of the 1960 overpass haunting. The workers of the theater would be attacked by the evil entity. It would throw things at them and corner them with shadows. The theater was once blessed with holy water and a cross was put in the projection booth, but everyday the cross was moved from on booth to another unexplained. Some mornings the person who was opening would hear voices from the projection rooms, and footsteps outside the hall. There was one morning when the projectionist went in and found the word "SATIN" carved in the wall of projection booth 2, this booth was where most of the bang and violent attacks occurred.

I am not sure if this topic is still going strong or not but I found this site because my friend bought a business an called to tell me he bought a haunted business. I researched online to see if he was pulling my leg. ( he's a joker) I found this site. I thought it was great because I believe in ghosts. He does not. Anyway it's on the 1960 bypass. It's called hoots.

He has the place being redone and planning on opening the first week of Aug/08. I plan on going there before hand since he said I can have access while no one is there to "ghost hunt." If I find anything I will definitely post pics or whatever I see, hear or find. I have to admit, I am kinda skeerd. Cuz I have to do this alone at night. blink.gif

So if any of you really want to visit a haunted place come over after the beginning of Aug. Oh yeah you must be over 21 to do so this place is a bar. So if you are of the legal ghost hunting age at this place come by you never know. I do know I am going to keep in touch with the staff to see if they see anything too!

Wish me luck. I will take my camera an sit my butt down, alone at the bar, at night, in a notoriously haunted place. SOBER I must be crazy!!!! w00t.gif

I've been to the 1960 Overpass on several occasions, and I don't see how it's as bad as people say. I've never seen nor felt anything that has made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end or gotten goose bumps. I went about two years ago, when I first found the site and a friend of mine from Switzerland was staying w/ me and wanted to go ghost hunting. We made the trip on several occasions and got nada. I'll e-mail him and ask for the pics or see if he still has them.

I know the Old Golf and Games became a church is now a storage unit and the guy who ran it said he never heard/saw anything. When we made our trips this was before it was a big place of interest and we were able to roam about without any interference from others or the law. What makes me wonder the most was, where the theater is, the only place still open in the strip mall area was a Ponchos Mexican Restaurant. How is everything around the place haunted, but not Ponchos?

First of all, I just wanted to fill you guys in on a place I went to. I'm not asking for opinions nor am I trying to prove anything...this is just what I know happend. If you want to jump into the topic..Here's the link about the area : but read below to find exactly where story is located.
Scroll past all the cities til you see Houston, after that, scroll a few lines past that and the city is called Humble, Texas : 1960 Overpass...you will realized the next few stories following it are different buildings, but at the same location.
http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/texas.htm

Ok, after I left work (where I mostly post from) I went home to gather a few things to go on an investigation. I don't have much equipment exept the general requirements such as Digital Camera, Digital Voice Recorder, and LED Flashlite with Red lense (which I preferred just brite light because I was spooked out.) I figured white light is purest for this occassion because Red look too eeirefor my current mood. HAha What a wus I am. The other members I usually asked to go with me were tied up do to family and wife reasons. (wife did not let him go play)

Anyways, I drove around 45 minutes to a supposedly extremely haunted place. This area is outside Houston, Texas. From what I have heard, everything around the area is active. All the buildings are said to be closed down due to this activity. So, as I drove there, I exited the off ramp and it does a u-turn underneath where there are railroad tracks. So when I spotted the Tracks, I looked around and i drove dead smack into it and didn't even realize this. The freakiest thing I saw was a church, because it has been abondoned from what I saw because the chains on the front door and from what i have read about it. They did not mentioned that there would be a giant white cross in front of the church doors. It looked more like it was there to deter evil spirits instead of a cross that symbolizes a church. Also, the Movie theater, miniture golf and wharhouse are all shut down due to enexplained events. Now to see a church scared enough to shut down is spooky.

Interesting part is, I had a sense of chest pains, like a stress or anxiety attack. Might be a vibe frim all the negative energy, might not. Who knows. N-E ways, it was a overwhelming feeling, you know that feeling when your nervous, and as much as i tried to hold my composure, evry hair on my body stood straight up. The area was built over a confederate cemetery and some of the bodies were unearth during the cinstuction prcess and no took the extra effert in cautiosly and consideratly bury the bodies back carefully. instead, they wrecklessly relocated in to the woods surrounding area. It is said that walking Corpses can be seen walikng around. I tried to snap some photo of the area for you guys, but my batteries in my Digital Camera went dead. This is strange because I spent all day charging them. Everyone knows if you use regular batteris in a digital does not last long, so i am always prepared. I use High Powered Energizer Rechargable Nickel-metal Hydride. Those give me at least 70 pictures on my memory card or about 8 three minute video clips. anyways, i powered the camera on, and it died. Tried it again, battery died, so I switched batteries to the other ones i charged also just hours earlier. They died also. Maybe this is dure to some Electro manetic field. i would not know what else to explain...don't say I didn't charge them correctly, because I have the Indicater light that tells me they're charged. That's not the case because I'm home now, and checking to see if moisture or humidty made it doe this....it turns on...no problem now. Batteries are find.........

I will try to go back, but I'm taking a few friends...anyone else from Houston Area interested in going next time I go....regardless I'll post update.

Here's the link about the area : but read below to find exactly where story is located.

ActuallyI'll just copy and paste the info, but the link is to at least varify it does exist since I failed to provide photos, Which I will try to do again...

Humble - 1960 Over Pass Area/Train Track - The East 1960 overpass is now built over what was once a cemetery. The overpass was built to cross a set of train tracks. Workers dug up the cemetery and moved it to the woods beside it. Now It is a extremely evil area. Several business?s along the tracks have reported violent disturbances. There was a Putt Putt course along the tracks in the area that became a church, when the church would be closed in the night demonic screams could be heard from inside. The woods are very active as well, There are images seen floating through the woods as well as red lights, which are believed to be a gateway into pure evil.

Hey Xmortis,

I went with a friend of mine about a year ago and took some interesting photos. Here it is

My other photos were removed by photobucket for some unknown reason. I later noticed the single red dot in the right of my friend.

Into the Woods...

Our brave group:

Heads down the dark tracks…

Brett said he’d call if the popo came. Several minutes later, someone says the glowy stick is being waved (I’d thrown it down as a marker), so we trudged back thinking “damn, we’ve already been spotted?” :-/

linked-image

But we hadn't been spotted. One of the folks who'd stayed behind with the bikes was bored and decided madly waving our glowy-marker-stick was entertaining. rofl.gif

So we head back and made a more concerted search for pathways entering the woods. We finally found a well trampled (pun intended grin2.gif) entrance to Bum-Town.
linked-image

At first the rolled up tarps and such were spooky because of all the reports about bodies dumped in the area. Soon, though, we grew used to 'em.
linked-image

linked-image

I found the abandoned shoes…creepy.
linked-image

Despite the heat, some elected to wear their gear. grin2.gif
linked-image

It wasn’t exactly the Blair Witch project recreated, but sort of. rofl.gif

linked-image

sbfuller
Justine scopes out paths.
linked-image

This is what an abandoned (or perhaps the city condemned it for not meeting code?) bum-town looks like.
linked-image

At one point, I finally had to text Brett and say rev and engine or something, we're sorta lost. rofl.gif His goofy horn saved us.

So we head back to the original entrace because the brush is too thick to push thru. We entered a few of the "bum towns" from different directions. This time I'm at the back of the pack and I found something interesting.

The scene looks a lil' suspicious to me because of the pillow and bucket. I notice a fire in the center. Was someone out here making S'mores?
linked-image

Not looking like S'more material to me! I yell to everyone that I think I found a bag of drugzzzz. What do they do? Someone yell's "druglords" and the group runs like hell. rofl.gif
linked-image

Naturally, I stayed behind to document. Miranda, kind soul that she is, stuck with me. I wasn't quite brave enough to test the contents, but I did give it a good kick. grin2.gif
linked-image

Right next to it was an aluminum pan with burned residue along the sides. Sorry pics all fuzzy.

linked-image

Miranda and I catch up with the group, and they’re waiting at the edge of the treeline for the train to pass.

linked-image

Hey Stacy, did I startle ya? :keke:
linked-image

We return to the bikes and it’s a sympony of snicking lighters.
linked-image

We decide to head to a nearby IHOP…not so much for camaraderie as for the air conditioning. grin2.gif Can anyone say swamp ***?

Cody’s Speechless?!

How’s that tooth feelin’ Cody? :er:

linked-image

linked-image

linked-image
linked-image

Cody asks the waitress what she’d do if she found a bag of coke in a hobo camp.

linked-image

The waitress dubbed Brett The Camel; can anyone guess why?

linked-image

A yanni? A hooha? A cooter? What? Oh and that was mean! Stacy tricked me into thinking she had a jingly chain piercing in her hoohoo. :-/

After paying, we noticed a Harris Co. Constable in one of the booths. Brett, Justine and I decided we should go ahead and tell him about what we found in the woods even though we weren't supposed to be there. I was banking on the whole "good faith" bit.

He, uh, couldn't have cared less. rofl.gif We explained where we were. I showed him the pics. His suggestions ran along the lines of "you can report it or not...whatever." Once he even suggested we trot back out there and use it. It was a joke...I think. :eek3:

I was paranoid about being pulled over by an officer with a canine sniffer dog, and when I asked him if I'd get in trouble because I kicked the bag, I think he though I was nuts. :er: I was serious. I'll never wear those sneakers to the airport; that's for damn sure!

The END

linked-image

. . .Unless one of the group is out there tromping around in the woods trying to find that bag.

this is chads story he told me after emailing........(he gave permission to post it)

Hello Well there is this man that has a grave at that place named jeff mcknight, one night when i was with a couple of my friends we were just looking around and looking for "ghosts" because we didnt really believe this place was haunted.Anyways I would always get this strange vibe from this jeff mcknight. so we were just around his grave looking around talking it was strange because when i lifted up my flash light to talk what i thought was my friend james there was this man standing there but i flashed over there agian it was gone.I know that sounds very unlikely that i saw a ghost there but i still believe it was this Jeff mcknight. Then that night or a couple of nights later [i cant really recall what night it was] Me and my friend abe were looking at his footage from the place back in February 2006.It was my friends abe and james just searching the area of the cemetary and my friend james calls abe and he like turns the camera without pointing anywhere and if you stop the camera it is directly on Jeff mcknight. creepy right?

after looking it up i found this on Jeff.........

Jeff D. McKnight, PPC1346 Base Unit AAP. The World War II veteran was born in 1908 and died May 11, 1958.

Hello Everyone,

My name is NME_Locus. I am the original poster of this thread. It's been so long since I have been on UM. I just wanted to check up on how everything is. I see that a lot of you guys have gone there. That's good to go do your own research, but since this place has gotten a little more attention, I would just like for you guys to remember to respect the site and don't litter. ( No pun intended..I know you guys already know ). Happy Hunting and talk to ya'll soon.

I wanted to comment on this haunted site. In Houston there is a sizable satanic population. The majority are deluded goths who tamper with forces they don't understand and would have a hard time controlling. Many of the worst haunted sites in Houston are due to failed (or successful) rituals. This area is reported to be the cause of the combined moving of graves and the tampering of satanists and punk kids. It seems that "ghost hunting" has become a popular hobby. I would recommend that anyone who is looking to visit sites like this one prepare themselves with at least some basic knowledge of banishing and protection. The last thing you want is to go out to do some drinking and fooling around with a video camera and be followed home by some obsession, poltergeist, or demonic entity. I have never been to this site but I am planning on going when I actually have time. I am the most interested in the places where it is said the veil of reality is the most pulled back. I have even heard of ominous red portals forming in the woods around this spot.

Wow... neat. May we have the link on where are getting your information please. Sometimes, presenting this in advance causes people believe in something that they have not even researched on.

An example would be telling ssomeone that a house is haunted and having them stay the night there. Then of course they are going to start hearing things.

Yo!

I'm a Spring local and I'm vaguely familiar of where this site is. I lived in Humble before, but I've never heard of this haunted overpass. I came across this forum a little whlie ago and ever since I've been curious to set up a little 'investigation' to see if some friends and I can experience a ghostly encounter. Really, we just want to take a look around - I'm quite skeptical about anything paranormal so I'm not expecting much is going to happen when we get there. But I figure what better way to celebrate Labor Day weekend than to visit a local haunted hotspot? Anyways, we're planning to take the trip tomorrow night, Sunday, August 31, 2008. I'm bringing a camera and digital camcorder to record the things we see. I haven't done any ghost hunting in the past so I don't know what to look for - for the most part, I'll just be shooting random pics here and there. We'll try and pick around the areas where people have said they've seen things, like the theatre, railroad tracks, and church. Apparently, they've revamped a nearby building previously deemed haunted to a bar, named 'Hoots', so we'll go in and ask if they've had any paranormal happenings. In general, I think I'll be asking the locals if they've seen anything. I'll make sure to take a ton of pics and video to post here when I'm done.

If anyone here would be interested in coming along, or if you have any suggestions, feel free to PM me or email me at: tell_frijoles_whatzup@msn.com.

Thanks!

HI im new here to this site and i was looking around on this topic, pretty neat that it has so much attention. What i wanted to say is that i went to a school that had alot of those goth people that liked doing all that stuff, well they performed a ritual in the school in the middle of the night....or so they say......well the school hasnt been the same since every student found out. Things started happening like in school dances there was a man spotted in the corner of the school gym or auditorium, and no one knew who that person was. Someone tried to talk to this man but the guy just walked into a thin hallway with no doors just to disappear. I personally saw something in the restroom when i was doing my business, i never went to that restroom again. well anywho the point is cuz of the freaky people the school wasnt never right after them, too much weird stuff in there.
