Five-year-old Buster found the cache and bomb making-equipment in buildings in Safwan.
The haul included AK47 assault rifles, a pistol, six grenades, ammunition and cash, drugs and propaganda material.
Following the find, all attacks stopped and troops were able to replace their helmets with berets.
Buster is considered responsible for saving the lives of countless civilians and service personnel.
For his bravery and heroism he will be presented with the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals Dickin Medal by Princess Alexandra in the presence of war correspondent Kate Adie at the Imperial War Museum in London.
Buster will be accompanied by his handler, Sergeant Danny Morgan.
Buster will be the 60th animal to receive the prestigious medal. It has already been awarded to 32 pigeons, 23 dogs, three horses and a cat since 1943.
