quite a list there, peacelover!

It must have taken you a long time to compose. you even bothered to use quotations on each title.
I saw The crow. Too bad Brandon died in that. Just to watch the scene where he gets shot is chilling
hmmm. communion scared the pants off of me. It wasnt the aliens tho. It was Chris Walken. That is one scary fellow.
aliens is one of my all time favs.

What about the superior original version of The Ring? And British horror movie Dead of Night. And Alien. And TV movies Ghostwatch, and The Woman in Black.

Yes I agree with you both. I've only seen the originals and thought them both excellent.
I saw Suspiria again recently and liked it much better than the first time. (Think it's in line for a re-make too.)
From the original list Black Christmas doesn't get mentioned much. It's pretty good like most of the others.

Thanks everyone for responding. It was fun to hear what everyone liked or didn't like.
Graham Stroker. Sorry about that, I made a mistake. It is Bram Strokers Dracula. (With my luck I probably, still have spelled the name wrong.)
I did see Shocker. I never liked the Death Penalty before and I sure as heck don't like it now.
Has anyone seen Cold Water Creek? It has been out now, I think for a few months. Was it scary?
Thanks gang!!

The only decent horror movie ive seen recently was "wrong turn". Not that i found it particularly scary, it was just hilarious watching how terrified my girlfriend was. Classic.

Say it isn't so!!! That was the WORST horror movie i've ever seen! I've seen a bunch of the movies listed and isn't it
Bram STOKER'S Dracula?
Scary movies to me aren't the kind of movies where stupid idiots run around screaming and doing a horrible job of trying to look terrified. Wrong Turn, Last House (stinker!), and Poltergeist 3 would have to be my biggest dissapoinments.

Scream 1 was EXCELLENT when it first came out, but then everyone tried to copy it, and then we were all subjected to Jennifer Love Hewitt's cleavage as she screamed woefully, "what are you waiting for HUH?!" in "I know what you did last Summer."
I wanted to just smack her.
I know what you did last summer jennifer, and it
WASN'T acting!!!

She was totally terrified she actually wanted to leave halfway through because she was that scared. It was so funny.
I was goin to watch the shining with her but i thought it might out her into a coma.

Then i'm sorry your girlfriend has a weak backbone, wun. No offense. The Shining is one of my favorite scary movies. Because it's more psychological then anything else. If you haven't seen it yet on your own, i suggest it. It goes to show why Jack Nicholoson is the God in acting that he is.....

Dec 20 2003, 11:21 AM
Yeah i have seen it. It really is a great movie but the wench hasn't seen it yet and i really do believe it would send her over the edge. Your right though she has no back-bone.

sorry, the shining was absolute crap!
the remake however is far better as it actually is a really good interpritation of the book.
the jack nicolson version unfortunately surrounds his character whereas the actual story is the story of his son, the one who has the shining, and dont even get me started on his pathetic wife, cos if i was jack id have tried to kill the pathetic cow as well, a mother trying to protect her child would be stronger than she was portraid.
watch the remake or read the book, you will never look at topiary the same way again!

Scared me silly

Sorry, the Shining rocked (the first movie that is)!
Although I do take umbrage that they killed off Scatman Crothers!
In the movie, you're not sure if Jack was going insane, being driven insane, or has been possessed by the hotel.
In the book, in a typical King move, it is all revealed at the drop of a hat! Other than that let down, the book was good.
The movie did it justice, I'd say.
