My sister had a couple experience I would like to share:

1)My sister is currently 22. Approximately 2 years ago she was sleeping at her boyfriend's apartment. He left for work around 6am. My sister went back to sleep after he left. Something woke her from her slumber and she opened her eyes. The room was still fairly dark and she immediately noticed a dark, small creature (floating) at the top of the doorway. She stated that the creature was about 3 feet tall. She could see the creature's face (at this time cannot recall the features) and it was not cloaked in darkness. The creature slowly began to descend toward my sister who was laying in bed. She stated that she only had her eyes open for maybe 1 sec when she noticed it's descent. My sister immediately closed her eyes, put her head under the covers and began to pray. She was scared but pulled the covers off her face several minutes later to find the room empty. My sister said that she was freaked out during the incident. I don't blame her. I wish she could recall finer details such as the creatures features, but she cannot...only of its ominous presence.

2)My sister opened the door to the house where I used to live; my parents house. She rushed inside to turn off the alarm, in which she walked past my bedroom door. The door was open as it usually is. My sister saw a dark figure out of the corner of her eye standing next to my bed. My sister said that she jumped and looked full view into the room. Nothing was in the room. She said that the room was semi-dark and as she passed the room she noticed a dark shadow/figure next to the bed. When she re-examined the room, no natural shadows were at the location. My mom was behind my sister, walking in the front door when this happened. She states that she remembers my sister jumping as she walked past my bedroom door.

3)My sister and my mom have noticed a strange sound in their home. My sister has been woken up several times to the sound of "people talking". She said she has woken up in the middle of the night on several occasions and heard what sounded like 2 or more people talking. The speech was very low and muffled so of course you couln't hear what they were saying. She said that is sounded like it was coming from the other end of the house. I asked her why she doesn't get up to investigate....she laughs at me! My mother also has woken several times to what sounds like "a radio or tv is on". She hears what sounds like a raido turned down very low or a TV with low volume. It sounds like people are talking. Also, she cannot make out what the speech is. She has searched the house before to make sure she didnt leave the radio or tv on...but as soon as she gets up and starts to investigate, the voices stop. She has woken my dad on occasions also.

Kind of weird happenings. I lived in the house for over 10 years and did not have any experiences...not that I want to. Maybe some of you have had the same things happen. If so, please share.

How recent was event #3? And does it happen often?

#3 happened again recently to my mother. They have both heard voices (radio/tv) several times in the past few yaers. The other night, my mother heard it, she strained to hear better but still could not make it out. She when woke my dad, who made a lot of noise waking up. After he awoke, my mother did not hear it anymore.

Thanks for the welcome! I might as well air out my personal experiences that I've had while living in my current house:

1) We just moved into the house, it's 2-230 am and the wife and I are sleeping on the floor. She wakes me up and whispers, "Someone's in the house." This is something you don't want to wake up to. I listen intently and here the motion detector go off. The only pet I own (at the time) is sleeping at my feet. The motion detectors are located at the front door and garage door leading to the house. It activates when a door is opened. We're in the living room, so the front door is out. I wait to hear something else, some other movement. BUt I don't hear anything, just the motion detector going off again. I finally get up and check the house. It's empty. Then the phone rang an hour later. Nobody left a message. great.....

2) My mother in law is sleeping downstairs. I am upstairs using the computer at about 2 or 3 am. I hear what sounds like cat food being poured into a bowl (or ceral as it turns out). She's a cat nut and I guess she wanted to feed the cat. Until I realised what time it was and the fact that it is completey black downstairs. She doesn't walk around in the dark. I wait to hear something else. Nothing. In the morning she finds a bowl of ceral on the table and asks if I poured it. Hmmmm.....

3) On the pc again, late at night (Hey I play games you know!), I'm in my office downstairs, with the door closed. At some point the door knob moves, like someone is thinking of opening it. Like they have their hand on it. I wait, thinking it's one of my kids. Nothing happens. I open the door and no ones there. That one sucked.

4) Guess what? Playing WoW again late at night. I hear the bathroom cabinet door open slightly, then close. It happens about 3 times before i get up. I'm guessing the cat got in there and wants out. The cat is not in there. I know what I heard, but what I find doesn't seem logical.

5) we have a troubled kid over to spend the night. Poor guy used to be half drowned by his parents, very disturbing. Anyway, since I'm a christian guy, I pray for him. I ask that God would show me exactly what I need to pray for regarding the boy. Something specific instead of just "Please help him". I wake up with a "something" standing next to my bed. Description of "something" as follows:
about 5 ft, covered in black robes. Looks very solid, not transparent. face is obscured by cowl or hood, but I can tell it's looking down at me. Here's the kicker. On it's chest is scrawled in what appears to be white chalk, a symbol. A circle with a cross through it. The movie called "Zodiac" had this same symbol on it's logo. Very disturbing image and I jump up in fright as cued. It dissapears. haven't seen this thing since and I doubt there's any corralation between the movie and this kid. As far as what or why it was wearing this? Anyone's guess.

6) Other things I hear like someone jumping in the room next to mine, someone wallking along my upsatirs hallway and hitting all the creaky parts (sitting up in bed listening to this was just ...oh!). That's about it!

Well, I found these ones interesting and am commenting them in a number corresponding with the stories

1. Did anyone die in your house at any point before you got it? Do you have caller ID?

2. Funny, kind of. Cereal doesn't pour itself, but if you didn't do it, then who... or what... did? Spirits do strange things sometimes, it might be a residual spirit reliving something of the past.

4. Did any other strange happenings happen in the connecting room(s)? There is mostlikely a connection there.

In my home, I hear that a lot coming from the hallway cabinets (they are VERY LOUDLY SQUEEKY) outside my room. I have my door closed at night usually, so I wouldn't see what it is but I could hear no footsteps approaching or walking away from (which I can hear if there is someone there). I honestly think its the dark, malicious figure in the hallway floor. He can't try any more attepts to kill me with large heavy objects so he just goes about to keep me awake. And he is connected to the hallway through the master bedroom. (see what I mean?)

5. That description is interesting. It may have been a bad dream but sometimes I know its hard to describe things (very much including symbols) without quoting something else. About the figure its self, did the eyes glow? I might be able to help you recognize what it is. The black robes, were they stained by anything or not? What color was its chest near the symbol?

You see, that kind of figure may very well be an illusion, or it may be a sign. I don't mean in a frightening way, but "dark cloaked figures that appear solidly" are something I'm used to. Though they frighten they do not always mean to.

Did you mean that the child's parents tried to drown him? How long ago/how old was the child when it occured? Is the child "troubled" as in sad/sulky or destructive and causing trouble?

I have no idea, but I'm asking what is 'Zodiac' about?

1) No. We bought the house from the original owners. We did not have caller ID at the time and whats more disturbing is the original owners home number was disconnected and we had not yet forwared our number.

2) I agree it was unusual. I mean to hear this sound of ceral being poured without the accompanying sounds of cabinets or movement was very unusual.

3) No. None of the other bedrooms haven't had unusual incidents.

4) really don't think it was a bad dream. No glowing eyes, the face was obscured by its hood. No stains on the robe, completely black. Dont' these spirits have something in a chartruese or sky blue? The symbol on it's chest resembled white chalk or white paint.

As a punishment, the parents would hold him under water. Quite evil. He's doing much better now, typical childish behavior. At the time of that aprticualr incident he was suicidal.

Zodiac killer remains, sort of, unsolved. He murdered about 6-32 people in the San Fransisco area during the late 60's. He wore a disguise wich included this weird cross/circle symbol on his chest. Personally, I don't see a connection with the killer and what I saw, but rather the connection is with the symbol. Strange.

Maybe you should first exclude the possibilities of optical illusion or audial illusion.

These experiences are interesting... cool stuff.

iv heard the sound of people talking just before i go to sleep , its not the tv either, i think maybe its just the sound of the tv echoing in my ears somehow i dont know.

ive had similar experiences. i labeled it "poltergiest activity" cause it was a lot at once. i always hear voices in my head as im falling asleep, but this was different. i heard low murmuring in the kitchen. and i heard footsteps, and the door opening and shutting and the refridgerator opening and closing and i heard everything inside rattle. it was very scary. anyway. i basically just purified my house and banished what it was. it never came back. it was heavily shielded, but im stronger ^.^ anyway. its usually a moronic poltergiest. but the shadows are dark spirits. i saw one rise up from the floor one time in my doorway. i use a visualization technique which helps me purify my house. just imagine everything is a field at noon with green grass, multicolored flowers, sunflowers, and wind, and bright blue skies, and imagine its sunny. then imagine the sun behind you, and "shine" its light into the house, that helps me with focus on positive energy and radiate it throughout the house. its very effective. sent chills down my spine with excitement. anyway. i dont think illusions on that level are shared by many people. and cereal doesnt pour itself :\ the things are bad and are just trying to get your attention. they do this because the fear in a human causes hightened energy levels which they feed off of. its like psychic vampirism. just get a sage smudge and burn it and let the smoke drift throughout your house. trust me, you dont want to investigate these things. you just want to get rid of it ASAP. only harm can come from these types. i used to deal with them all the time, then i learned some techniques and i got rid of them. love and light to you all.

Interesting stories
Feel compelled to add my own (with appologies to the thread starter), with intention on showing you how to remove unwanted entities from your home.

A few years ago, i moved back to the city from a sojourn in the north.
I rented a rather large one bedroom appartment in a sixplex which was located in the basement.
A few days after I moved in, i could sense a presence, would walk around the apartment and it felt like an energy kept passing through me giving me the goosiebumps.
Odd things always happened, one morning every kitchen cupboard door was open, numerous times late at night I would hear the front door open and shut.
I amde some inquiries with the neighboiurs whether they heard of any strange occurances, and the neighbours laughed.
Seems I am the fourth person to move in there in a year.
Yikes
The strangest occurance was with the toilet.
One day the thing overflowed.
I called the landlord whom called in the plumber.
He opens the lid to the holding tank at the back of the toilet and clogging the works is a bright red apple.
The plumber gives me this "where's your stupid sign" look.
I live alone and never placed an apple in the holding tank of the toilet.
I shrug.
The plumber rolls his eyes and hands me the apple.
I figured a friend did it as a prank.
The next day the dang toilet backs up again.
Self investigation this time reveals ANOTHER apple in the toilet, this time no friends were in apartment from last episode to this one.
Hmmm...
For 7 days ..every day an apple would appear in the exact place in the holding tank.

Now I am a little freaked out and go back and ask the neighbours if they heard of anyone dying in the apartment.
Seems a year ago the apartment was rented out to a young family with a child.
Seems the young father became enraged at the youngin and decided to drown him in the toilet.

Seems the boys spirit was in the apartment.
I asked the boy why he was still here.
The boy was sad because he couldn't find his parents and missed them.
I found out who the mother was and told here to come over (which she really didn't want to do) until I explained to her that her childs spirit is still here in the apartment looking for you)
Although this freaked her out she did come over and tild me the story.
After she left that day the problems in the apartment stopped.
Odd but I kinda missed that kid from then on.

What i would suggest is that you buy a smudge kit and smudge the WHOLE house (closets, kitchen cupboards, you name it...every area of your house) and while you are performing the ceremony tell the spirits firmly that this space is YOURS and you (the spirits) are asked to leave.
Be firm but LOVING and that should end your encounters.

Can you provide some kind of relationships between the apple between the boy entity? For instance, the boy liked eating apples?

Interesting question...but the answer is No, I can't provide the symbolism as it was the boy's symbol not mine.
The mother didn't share with me the significance of the apple or whether the boy held special meaning or significance to the apple.
