Alright, the other day I was searching for UFO activity maps and I found one. Now, I can guarantee that there is more activity than what the map shows, some people would rather keep silent.

The Map: http://www.ufomaps.com/

What I found in my area: http://www.nuforc.org/webreports/056/S56349.html

If you read the report, you would think that the San Jose Municipal airport would have some sort of log with this incident in it. So, I emailed their support and asked if I could view their radar logs for that night. Here is the email.

Sorry, we don't have any tools that would allow you to see this.

Regards,
FlightStats Support

Subject: I have a Question

I was wondering if radar data was available to the public. If it is, I would like to view the radar data for April 23rd 2007 at around 11:00 p.m. in a 60 or 70 mile radius around Alum Rock Park, California. I am guessing that the San Jose Municipal Airport can help me with this.

Thank You.

So, I emailed them back basically saying, "You dont have radar? So you never know whats in your airspace? We are open to terrorist attacks and mid air collisions? I thought every airport was supposed to have a radar system so you know who is in your airspace. I thought RADAR was how the rules were regulated. I would appreaciate it if I could view the radar log for that night, thank you."

I find that reply odd and I am on a mission to view their radar log.

Any opinions?

Contact the San Francisco air traffic control center. They handle radar coverage for San Jose Airport. Your barking up the wrong tree talking to SJC directly.

I emailed the Air Traffic control center with a FOIA request for the radar logs. My email with the flight status support people still continues. I dont know if hes saying things to pull my leg or what, but here is the conversation so far:

Well there was this one.. But that's classified...

I'm afraid I don't actually work at that airport so I wouldn't have a clue.

If you can find out if there are any reports from pilots during the night of april 23rd, flying from san jose to san francisco, that would be great.

I found this email address off the san jose municipal airport page, how can I contact them?

Jim,

We are not San Jose Municipal Airport, but FlightStats; an independent company specializing in global flight status information and have no relationship with San Jose Municipal Airport. I thus can not speak for San Jose and I have no idea if they would let you review their radar log.

I can tell you that FlightStats has lots of data provided by the FAA, but no current tool that displays that data as a radar would. I have no idea what you are even looking for in that data, so I can not really offer much. If you are looking for information about a specific commercial flight, I can probably help you out. If its more along the lines of something in the sky that night, then I very much doubt that we have what you need.

Regards,
FlightStats Support

What do you mean? Every airport has radar detection so they know what is in their airspace, if they didnt, then we would be open to attack and accidental collisions.

I would really appreaciate it if I could review the radar log for that night.

Thank You.
