I thought of this while reading another thread and didn't want to hijack it, so I thought I'd start a new topic.
Hope noone minds.

How many here believe that dogs, and cats or other animals, for that matter, can send messages to us telepathically?
No, I'm not imagining things.
I recently acquired a dog from the pound, she'd been adopted and returned 5 times before I adopted her and the workers there were very specific in telling me that if I had a problem with her, I could bring her back, and they would euthanize her. no.gif Apparently, I was her last chance.
They said that she'd been very tempermental with other adoptive families and had bitten one of them.
She's a mixed breed mutt, medium sized and my sons fell in love with her at first sight.
She is very shy and she seems to always be expecting one of us to hit her, which is sad.
She's housebroken and follows directions without fail.
She's an amazing dog! My question comes from the fact that she can come and lay her head on my leg, or just look at me, and I immediately know what she wants, whether it be water, food or to be let out. I know if she is happy or if she's scared or aggravated by something going on in the house. (Once, I even knew that she had a stomach ache and wanted a warm towel to lay on. blink.gif ) Bizarre! There is certainly nothing special about me, so it must be her ability to communicate it to me somehow.
I don't get words or anything like that from her, I just know what she wants.
So does anyone else have an animal like this?
Banana Man
My animal isn't like this either only certain animals can do this or you have a gift.

I can sorta do this with my pets. I believe it comes from having a very strong bond. I had one cat (he had to be put to sleep) who always seemed to know when one of us was sad or upset. He would jump into our arms and put one of his arm around your neck and just hug you. And as of reciently one of our dogs has gone deaf and it seems to have increased. She will walk up to us and we just know that she's hungry either that or she wants to be let out. I think some of this comes from people being able to read animals and animals being able to read people, but with some pets and people there is definatly a bond that is most possibly psychic.

Well, if you watch two canines together, they seem to stare into each other's eyes and then toddle off to play, fight, or just go their own seperate ways. How else do they communicate, especially when you don't hear them whine or bark, yet they seem to be staring at each other? I guess I just don't find animals to be so simple. We adapted to our environment and our societies, so why don't people think that animals did too?

I don't see any reason that this wouldn't be possible.
I personally know that telepathy exists, and seeing how strong the bond is between some people and their pets why not? original.gif

What makes me sad is i've had my dog for four years and this doesn't happen.

That is a very interesting theory. I had never really given it much thought but now that you mention it I do things like that with my dog all of the time. We have a very strong bond. I seem to know what he needs and he does the same for me. When I am having a bad pain day he will lay his head next to whatever is hurting the worse on me. I sleep on my couch. He has a certain spot he sleeps on too. When I had my last knee surgery, he instinctively could jump up on the couch and miss my knee. Dogs are amazing creatures and we are lucky to have them in our lives.

I had a parrot and he was always scared out of wits when I approached him. hmm.gif

we could always tell when our dog (who passed away in 2005 i think it was 2005 it was on the same day the 5th harry potter book came out, i was so happy to get it that morning, then a few hours later dad rang and said Baylee our golden retriever had to be put down sad.gif he had stomach cancer the vet said there was a 90% change that it was just some object he had eaten damn that other 10% crying.gif ) wanted something to eat he used to sit at the kitchen sliding door and just stare at us with his beautiful eyes, and we knew especially after the barking lol. i did have a weird expirience though we are living in a different house now and he had died when we were living in a rental, and i just got this feeling that we had to finish off the fence so that i could take him for a walk, i know it may sound crazy but i must have tricked myself into believing he was still alive even though he had been dead for 2-3 years.

I have a Rottie, who will run from window to window, barking if a leaf floats by...I get migrane headaches, and for some reason when I lie on the couch,he senses that I don't feel well and keeps very quiet...Animals are wonderful, each one more unique than the other...They can automatically sense illness, depression and of course happiness...What can I say, except they are wonderful and become an instant part of the family.... original.gif

I have had so many wonderful experiences with my mini schnauzers that I would sound like a doting parent and then I would want to show you their pictures, and then I couldn't stop talking about them. But if you have an animal that you are very close to and can communicate with, you are truly blessed. And lucky the pet. original.gif

Our twins were born on January 1, 2000 and we call them our Millennium Babies.

My dog is kind of like this. We got her from a family that didn't want her, and she would constantly shy away like she expected us to hit her (broke our hearts when she did this - she'd get a big hug and kiss from us all). About half an hour ago actually, she was asleep on my bed and she wandered out into the living room where I am, put her head on my knee and just looked at me. I asked if she needed to go toilet (yes, I talk to my animals, even my fish tongue.gif) and she barked (she always barks when you speak directly to her), and I let her out, she did her business and then came back in. Then she lay on the floor near me with her ears up, just watching me, and I asked if she wanted a schmako (dog treat) and she went nuts, she knows the word lol so I gave her one, and she disappeared back into the bedroom after that. On a basic level, I think it's just becoming familiar with an animals routine, though what you're (the OP) saying sounds amazing - knowing she had a sore stomach? Sounds like you have a deep bond with your dog original.gif I believe in telepathy, it's highly possible imo

I have several dogs, cats, two birds, three horses and 6 goats. All a great and special in their own way. I have learned both good and bad things from each of them.

Having said that I do have certain dogs that pick up on what I am feeling and what I am thinking. They know if I am sad and they will get sad even if I pretend to be happy. My husband can always tell by what I am feeling by watching three of our dogs. One I have had for 4 years, one 1 year and the other three years since she was a puppy.

My dog that I have had for four years is now eight years old. She choose me litterally. We were at a dog walk to benifit homeless dogs. I also happened to be sort of looking for a new dog and was going to go to the city shelters in the next few days. My little girl came up behind me while talking with friends and stuck her cold wet nose right in my back. I turned around and here she is this little sad looking girl dragging behind her a shelter volunteer. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. original.gif The lady told me she was sorry and that she never acted like that before. I told here I did't mind and Wea planted herself on my lap. So then my husband comes over and sat down asking what was going on I told wea to go see her new Dad and convince him that we should take her home. Sure enough she did. After that she never went near my husband and has always been rather afraid of men. She however new that he was the key to her survival. I found out when I was filling out her adoption papers then that she was going to be pts that night if not adopted.

Animals do seem to really like me and I tend to connect with them better then people.

I do believe I can tell that there is something wrong by looking into their eyes sometimes. If they need to go to the vet or just need a hug.
Smeagol1
yeah my cat says STOP ROLLING OVER!!! grin2.gif
Piney
Every emotional state a person is in gives off a particular chemical scent called a pheremone. Dogs and cats can smell these pheremones thus "sense ( literaly smell) what you are feeling". Animals that are prey ( i.e. food for other animals) such as birds and horses can detect pheremones even better than animals that are predators (i.e. dogs and cats).

I do the same thing. I'm working on getting the koi in the pond to come when I call them. And the bettas will always come to the side of the tank on which I am when I call them. I even talk to my dog who is supposed to be deaf. Sometimes I think she hears my thoughts because she can't hear my words anymore.

Of course animals and human can communicate. You just have to listen. original.gif

Okay I feel the bashes coming...be nice.

I communicate with my cats all the time. I say things like "you're a kitty!" and they say things like "meow" (transliteration). It's very productive.

I talk to my pets all the time,we're very close and most of the time I can tell what they wasnt. My dog always knows when someone is sick. I think its the same relationship that you'd have with any one you're close with.
