After several nights reading through this 27 paged thread I have finally been caught up with all the IronGhost stories. IronGhost, I must say, your stories are fascinating and a wonderful read. You are a brilliant writer. And you say you have 30 years of documented sessions? You need to write a book!
I am a little confused though. How long have these sessions lasted? On an Ouiji board the communication is spelled out letter-by-letter. You and your friends must have spent 5,6, or maybe 7 hours on a single session. Would you say that is accurate?
I look forward to reading your next entry!
Thank you so much, stormgasm, for your kind words, whether I am worthyof them or not. Also, let me take a special opportunity to welcome first-time poster cece samy to UM -- how's the weather in Morocco, my friend?
Let me just say, and perhaps to those of you who are young writers, one must always take words of praise for one's writing very carefully. For every person who dubs your work brilliant, another will always come along to call you "a pathetic hack." Among the comments of my many columns here at UM, I have had several people tell me things like, "I'm sorry, you'll never make it as a writer."
Thus the lesson: If you are willing to take it to heart when someone calls you brilliant, then you must also take it to heart when someone calls you a "a worthless hack."
But enough of the lecture.
You're right, stormgasm, I have not 30 but 40 years of documented sessions. I have perhaps more than 2 millions words of session data. When you consider that an average book or novel is about 80,000 to 100,000 words, that means I have enough material for perhaps 10 books in Ouija stuff alone, although not every word fit for publication.
Indeed, my agent has already caught wind of what I was doing here ar UM, and he is very nervous about it. Like stormgasm, he tell me: "Write a book!"
But, anyway, I want to share at least one more story with you before I decide to change course, as some here have suggested I do. Some say I have "taken over the thead" which was not my intent -- I just wanted to share a few stories with you all -- but I think I owe everyone at least one more "MOMMY IN THE NOTHING CHAMBER" session, which I will try to post later tonight.
After that, well see. Perhaps I'll start on the book (although finding the time will be hard!) -- but I'll also probably share more stories in my column, which you can all find on the Main Page.
But at least one more story coming right here for all my friends ....
Edit P.S.: I wonder what happened to OuijaBoy? After all, he started this thread. Oh Well.
