I just ran across a DVD about energy use in the U.S. I have not seen it yet, but thought I'd mention it. It is probably education 101, but might be interesting. On the surface, it looks like it might be a little slanted, one way or the other. I'll decide after I see it.

"Energy Crossroads" was primarily produced in order to expose the undeniable existing facts about our current energy consumption patterns and their damaging effects on our environment, the global economy, and the geopolitical balance in the world today. It was also intended to bring to light some of the solutions that would ease these destructive consequences.

Tiroir A Films was not interested in, nor saw the necessity to, politicize this film. We are beyond wasting time by finger pointing. We all need to work together on correcting our course so that we will grow smartly toward a sustainable world for the sake of our children and their children. We may look back 50 years from now and perceive the abuse of resources in the 20th century as we now perceive the time of slavery- as an inconceivable and reprehensible practice. The waste of precious, finite natural resources and the degradation of our own habitat, will be unthinkable in 50 years when the world population reaches 10 BILLION people. Unfortunately, we may not have another 50 years to change our frame of mind.

Using the powerful medium of film, "Energy Crossroads" is a great tool for concerned citizens, educators, and organizations to help bring this urgent message across to the public.

Magnetar, look at the free energy thread. The technology is here, now, but it will require individual effort to make use of it. Not just Searle, but there are others that are quite practical in reducing energy consumption.
