July 3, 2007-I'm soliciting opinions on this object, photographed by myself outside my home in Stafford (ST16 area) yesterday. Does anybody else in Stafford use these forums? Have you seen anything similar? It's very odd, but I'm not convinced it's extra terrestrial in origin. It just seemed so... real. Well it would wouldn't it? Despite the weirdness of the object though, I'm skeptical. Maybe it does have a plausible explanation. The picture was taken around sunset yesterday. It was a funny day. Cloudy one minute, rainy the next, the clouds clearing... before returning and raining again. The weather got stuck in a loop. But around sunset this amazing affect occurred with (as you can see) strobes of sunshine piercing through a thick cloud across the entire sky. My wife noticed the stationary, very reflective (like blue chrome) object behind the dark grey cloud first and being completely flummoxed about it, told me to grab my camera. As I raised the camera and increased the zoom, the object suddenly started moving at an incredibly fast speed (seemed to be heading in our direction but going upwards) so I just pressed the button several times. We got several pics, but it only appeared on the first one. The object was definitely cylindrical, but with a strangely contoured convex base. There was a cross of incredibly bright light across the base, but a blinding (bright as the sun) ball of light at the front. (I say 'front' based on its trajectory.) I assume the whole top of the craft was bathed in this 'light' because you could see its aura around the entire thing. It was gone in an instant... and we were left feeling a bit frightened for a few minutes. I suggested we look up a UFO site on the internet and post it anonymous seeking opinions because we have nothing to lose by doing so. If any of our readers would like to comment on what this object may be, please comment on the existing forum thread, or you can direct your opinions directly to me. I looked at this for 2-3 minutes and cannot see any object. Either your are insane, or I am blind. Maybe both?

...Clouds are spaceships now?
I knew that cat-face-cloud wasn't from Earth!

I don't see anything even remotely fitting the description provided.

it looks like a raindrop on the lens to me... IMO

Ah at first i thought it was the picture in your sig your talking about :/
Sure looks interesting, and out of place in the sky. I'm no cloud expert though, maybe this could be a certain cloud formation?

What am I supposed to be looking for?
Personally I only see average clouds.

I think it's this one.
Low sun angle, lovely rays passing through cumulus clouds...and that artifact that looks circular at the upper left.
I have a camera that leaves a similar type of artifact, at a different location, depending on exposure and lighting conditions (in reality it's probably my technique...I'm not exactly a professional photographer).
Looks suspiciously like a water spot on the lens...or maybe a jelly fish floating in the skies above the trees...
Otherwise, who knows what sort of thing that is?
Must be an alien craft, though.

You must of been stoned that day. Nothing but clouds there.

Unless there's something very strange about Stafford trees, that picture was taken at least a couple of months ago. The trees (foreground and background) are just starting to leaf out.

Been waiting for someone else to notice the obvious ;-) In the description the object only moved rapidly when the zooming was occurring with/in the camera, I'd say that's a fair indication where the object was located...

That looks like a CGI, and a shotty one at best!

Not sure why, but there are 2 photos being hawked round forums; one of them - as PersonFromPorlock notes - simply doesn't tally with the claimed account. If one is very dubious, what about the other? The EXIF data has been conveniently stripped from the images; I'm not even sure they're from the same camera.

The first picture was not taken last week. Look at the trees and the distinct lack of leaves
Been discussing this on ATS as well - the first picture may be a reflection; picture possibly taken from inside a car (note the crash barriers in the foreground; the road is on an embankment leading to a bridge over the river. Very unlikely it was taken from the front door of anyone's house!). Second picture, as Pax says, looks exactly like a drop of water on the lens.

Pax is right. Its just a waterdrop on the lens. Top left hand corner.

Hum… I think Pax may be right. But that doesn’t explain that they saw it before they get the camera.
Well, I am becoming kind skeptic to UFO pictures posted in those kinds of sites. They end up being a bloody hoax all the time.
I will not make any statement on thin one. Not sure what to think!!!

Yup! I'm from a place near Stafford and there certainly aren't any mountains here! Sooooooo busted!Nice spot Captain Pish!!!!! BTW where are you from? I'm originally from Cheslyn Hay, but I live in Wolverhampton now.
I thought it looked like a spot of water or something on the lens anyway. Why is it that any slight mark on a photo is something spooky or strange?

Come on peeps, have an open mind - must be an alternative-reality Stafford, surrounded by mountains, where spring arrives remarkably late (even allowing for climate change) and people have front doors overlooking an armco barrier

Schnaffler i actually live in stafford near to j14. The post on the other site just sounded fishy, especially the mountains bit. Nice picture but when you say you were loooking out towards the mountains you sure as hell know there are no mountains in stafford so why would you write it?

There's definitely an odd cloud object thingy in the top left of the picture. But I doubt it's more than just a trick of the light or a cloud.

I think its an Invisible something..Or camouflage to make us fool...
If there is no mountain in Staffordshire then why would he/she named that place...
