Christians and Muslims alike believe that there will be a saviour in the time of the revelation. The second coming, but how will we know it is THEE saviour? What if one day you woke up and turned on the news. There is a man performing miracles unseen in all of written history. Africa is no longer affected by rampant AIDS, North Korea no longer has a food crisis, Australia's wildfires are stopped before damage is possible, there are no more blind, people suffering from cancer, the paralyzed can now walk. Truly, this must be thee messiah. Only he can preform such miracles.

But our holy books remind us to beware the false prophet, for he is the anti-christ, and only deceiving us.

"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." (Matthew 24:24 RSV)

"Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "Shall I not tell you about the Dajjal a story of which no prophet told his nation? The Dajjall is one-eyed and will bring with him what will resemble Hell and Paradise, and what he will call Paradise will be actually Hell; so I warn you (against him) as Noah warned his nation against him." (Hadith Bukhari Volume 4:554)

It is easy to say "But I am Christian/Muslim I will know when the real saviour returns." But will we truly be able to identify the false-prophet? Could you point the finger and call the man who healed your mother the anti-christ himself?

According to Christianity, when Jesus returns, it will be the end. It won't be a matter of "oh, it could be Jesus or it could be the anti-Christ ** ". Indeed, Jesus will not return until the time of Judgement, and by then it will be too late. Of course, things might pan out differently than what the Bible suggests, but that's a different argument.

** the anti-Christ - in A-millenialst philosophy, there is no "anti-Christ" (as in a single person who will set himself up as God-on-earth). There will in fact be many anti-Christs, and we see them every day..... at work, school, university, at the footy, the pub, the cafe, wherever we are - anyone who is not a Christian is anti-Christian (not Christ-followers). However, if my philosophy on Eschatology is mistaken and the pre-millenialists are right, then hopefully i will be part of that Rapture that I don't believe is biblically supportable. If not, then a guy setting himself up as Christ-on-earth, regardless of what miracles he does, if it is not apparent to everyone (ie, if even one person suggests it is not christ), then it is not Christ. Of course, this goes back to my earlier comment that if the Biblical account is deficient or wrong, then things can be a little harder to work out, but since the Bible is what we have to go by, then that's what I'm going by.

The prophet you seek is already within you. He guides even though he is not in the flesh.

Reading stuff like this really REALLY scares me. I'm at a point where I'm soul searching and I've been thinking about death & life coming to an end. Alot of ancients civilizations... Mayans,Egyptians,Chinese and various other cultures point to a time of change happening soon either in 2011 and 2012. I really believe this is when Jesus may return and that frightens me. That's why I'm trying to get my life together and try to get into the bible because I'm confused and scared.. I really don't know who to turn to or believe.. This really is eerie..

The Bible is very specific on how to identify Jesus when he comes.
