I've worked my way through these recordings over the past few weeks. Has anyone else ever hear of Leslie Flint or even listened to these recordings?

I find them fascianating.

The mediumship of Flint began in his childhood, back in the 1920s, when he would go to watch the silent movies at his local cinema. During the picture people around him would ask him to be quiet and stop talking, as it was putting them off the film. Leslie never understood this as he could hear the voices too, only he assumed that they coming from someone else.

In his late teens, he tried to find out about the strange events that were occurring around him and went on to develop his gift in a Spiritualist circle. It became known as Independent Direct Voice mediumship, so called because the voices were coming directly from the spirit people and were completely independent of the medium. All that was required of him was that he sit in a darkened room.

Leslie Flint was tested by many scientists. Experiments would see him tied to a chair, gagged and holding a mouthful of coloured water, which he had to empty into a glass at the end of the test to prove that he was not a ventriloquist. A Dr Louis Young invented most of these tests and, along with members of the Society for Psychical Research, carried out further tests in infra-red light with a microphone attached to Leslie’s throat. Still the voices were recorded.

During the course of many years and many investigations, no one ever accused Leslie Flint of being a trickster or fake and his gift became known all over the world. People who had lost a loved one would come from far and wide in the hope of hearing the voices of their nearest and dearest speak directly to them from beyond the grave. So many people, as it happened, that Leslie had to hold group sessions to accommodate the demand for sittings

I would be interested in seeing the exact tests if you know the links. When you listen it seems impossible because the voices are so clear (and also I wonder how some are in english if the person would have spoken a different language). I'm not sure how much I beleive just listening to them, but if he was tested, then this would be amazing.

This is just one of these proofs that skeptics refuse to believe in sleep.gif

Im really interested in his work, and i love listening to the recordings too.

The fact that there are so many recordings, and recordings of famous people coming through is pretty substantial. If theres anything thats going to persuade me of an afterlife it would be Leslie Flint.

Listening to what these supposed spirits have to say about their world is both comforting but there seems to be a lot of wisdom in their words too. Especially about the ignorance of the world today etc, and how we are all so scared of death. It just seems quite honest, im sure if this was all a bunch of actors talking and it was a load of old rubbish, we would probably know about it.

Yes, the tests may not of been as good as they would be today, as they were done a fair few years ago. But it wasnt like the experiments were primitive! It would be great to have seen the documents and evidence behind the tests he was put through.

Its a shame mediums now arent direct voice mediums like Leslie was. He seemed to avoid fame by the sounds of it.

My favourite one was Ghandi, but its been taken off the website i think. There was also a good Oscar Wilde clip!

There are one or two on the website that are in a different language, one of a roman soldier. (I think) Anyway maybe there isnt a language barrier in the afterlife!
