have any of u ever had deja vu before? It's happened to me many times and I think it is creepy because u dream about what happens to u in the future. When it happens, u know u had a dream about it before. Maybe we have deja vu because we have the abilities see our own future? idk -.-

say what u think about deja vu here...

come on post something

I get deja vu all to often I'd say 2-4 times a day. May sound a bit extreme but it's true especially recently if you'd have asked me 4 weeks ago i might have said once a month, but now it's every day. Of course some are just this feals really familiar others are that I know everything that will happen. It's spooky.
momentarylapseofreason
I had dejavu's alot in my teens and twenties and they are getting to be less as I age. Very detailed down to the people, the clothes, the conversations & music playing and knowing what's going to happen next.
They are always short and don't seem to be any life changing occasions.

I also have had the exact same dreams the same night as my sister and ex

i want a scientific explanation ! It haunts me
Shankpin
I would think most people have stopped suddenly and said 'hey, I've dreamed this before.' or, 'why does this seem so familiar?' :}

The Matrix has me!

Yeah, it seems like when you have deja vu, it seems like it was once in a past dream.
When I am stoned it happens ALOT. (sometimes I can even recall the dream it comes from!)
pinOi32
to me, deja vu is weird because how can u explain that u see the future when youre only in the present? do u know what im saying? its really disturbing and creepy... dontgetit.gif
megashredder
Well when I get deja vu' I fell like I have gotten before... Like I sometimes go to places and I fell as if I have been there before like on a past life. And I'm the type of person that i have probably been the same person in a past life like the same old Erik Mayer just in a different location such as orange county. lol

I though deja vu was experiencing the same event twice, or believing you had previously experienced a situation.

Dreaming of an event and then experiencing it is something completely different....

I am thinking deja moo...

The feeling you have heard this bull**** before!
pinOi32
it happens to me sometimes...I have dreams when I'm sleeping where I can see something that happens in the future to me. It's not like a very long vision, but still it happens. I know im dreaming, im not stupid. dont u have to be asleep to dream? -.-
pinOi32
deja vu...it is mysterious and terrifying
the14u2cee
I have had deja vu many many times in my life, and to me i cant explain it, it mostly happens in my dreams and its like;well, for instance, my family went on a cruise a couple months ago and we went to swim with the dolphins, and a certain moment came were we all took a picture with them as a family, and i remember the guide there saying a certain phrase and then a pause and we all busted out laughing, and i remembered doing that same exact thing in one of my dreams.......its weird but it happens....
pinOi32
yes that is what im talking about, roj47 doesnt believe that deja vu is real...

It does happen, again i can not explain it but it happens, Its not always happy or fun things either, Once i had a dream or premonition which ever you prefer to call it while i was asleep, i was at work and i saw it, my co-worker whom i was following got into an accident an an intersection, I even told this person what i remember because he was towing a trailer with a lawn mower on the back, and i told him i had a dream that the trailer he was pulling got hit by another truck, but when i said this it wasn't vivid, meaning ever thing that happen did not come to me all at once but i remembered that specific trailer being torn up on the side of the road with Police cars next to it......And guess what happen.....
pinOi32
u can have a deja vu dream of an event right now while youre sleeping, and then it can happen from a minute later to probably 2 years later in the future. I wonder how our brain shows us some things of the future to us, when its just the present...
momentarylapseofreason
Dejavu is real and I'm as sceptical as they come. (at least real to the ones experiencing it & what if you are experiencing the same thing with others at the same time ?)

Actually I dream the crap beforehand not "Hey I have been here before"

You know that song "Shoot high- Aim low" by Yes. I dreamt that song before it ever came out and didn't realize it was Yes until i heard it.

I like the band "yes" but to me that is one of their worst. That also happened with another jazzy tune done by a black woman (not really commercial) can't remeber her name. Heard that a while before it was released too.in a dream in pretty much detail. I actually woke up thinking i wrote it and composed it in my sleep and was bragging about it to my husband.
And I could go on and on and on...............it happens less as i get older.
Hey maybe I'm getting sane finally ! That's it !

Hey maybe it's a "trick of the mind". I don't know what to make of it and it irks the crap out of me. And I'm a big James Randi fan. Now isn't that ironic ?

Maybe time goes in an unending circle ? Wasn't that a possibility Einstein thought of ?

I am no scientist, physicist or psychiatrist. I just plain don't know. Period.

Maybe some day there will be answers.
pinOi32
I hope there will be answers soon enough. happy.gif

Mine comes and goes, i haven't had an episode for a while now,the last time was when i kept seeing the numbers 911 in my dreams, even while i was out, anywhere when i would look at a clock or address i would see those same numbers. It took 2 years before my wife reminded that i used to tell her to buy cash 3 (form of the Florida lottery) with those numbers and it did not dawn on me about the date and what happen....
She-ra
Had it today...hate it when that happens cause then you stop; lose your train of thought; confirm, yea deja vu...okay; and then move on. UGH. original.gif

I have experienced the same sort of deja vu. Seems to be unimportant social events I remember in my dreams. It's a strange phenomenon and I'm completed perplexed as to how it occurs.

I didn't say it was not real huh.gif Think you are getting confused....

I said I thought deja vu was where you entered a situation and believed you had already experienced it.

Deja vu is a memory problem? I don't see that at all, i understand if your suffering from brain diseases but last time i checked, i was perfectly fine...

Thanks for the link.. thumbsup.gif

That is fascinating ! I never had no hunch it would happen.

My dreams that happen are usually things that have no importance in some way but my awake "intuition" & "premonitions" are always some very important matter. Odd because you think it would be the reverse.

Well there is a contradiction already because I get them "less" as I get older.
Could it be I'm recovering from a brain disease ?

Plus when you have brain disease you can't tell what people are going to say next and at the same time what song is coming on the radio next and that it's going to turn off while or be interrupted when you enter the drive through tunnel. and the driver is wearing the hot pink sweater with the missing button and you are wearing a teal colored pullover.
That is how detailed they are.

Or somebody is teaching you how to repair an intercom system -but he doesn't have to but you let him -even though you already dreamt it and know how to do it -and the fact that it's the same guy as in the dream with the same bad teeth and dirty white T-shirt.
If that's a brain disease I don't want a cure.
pinOi32
so if u have deja vu, that means u have brain disease?? whaaaat! and im only 17...

hey...I can tell what ppl are going to say next and know what song is coming on the radio next! it cant be true that I have brain disease!

There is 1 theory (not really sure who or where it's from) that suggests that it is your ability to predict the future, its kinda like your brain kikin in to high gear, like a massive brain storming blink.gif , i kinda like that theory grin2.gif

Another theory is that u have a conection with yourself from the future, this links to the theory thay past, present and future is all happening at once.
momentarylapseofreason
Yeah. It's definitely a thing that causes a sleepless night .

I can't figure it out. All I can figure is that time goes in a circle of sorts. Or there is no time ?

Time is an illusion ?

You are remembering the future ?
pinOi32
wow...that would be cool if I had a connection with my future self happy.gif

I personally believe its a part of our brains that we never use, you know the part that can see into the future, make things move,Read other peoples mind, The part that knows exactly what women want and how they think, The part we will never know about that comes in goes on its own... thumbsup.gif

See, I have Deja Vu every now and then and unlike everyone else, I don't dream about the situations ... I just get that Deja Vu feeling, you know what I mean.
I just feel like I've been there before or I've done this or seen this before, but it's just the feeling, no dreams like everyone else. Only thing I can think of is that I don't remember them and then stuff happens ??? I dunno... regardless of what causes it .... it can be awfully freaky sometimes.

I love strong Deja Vu, mostely because it creeps me out(in a good way) ... and I can't get enough of that apparently.

Cheers,

Gene

Hell yea I DO! I swear I flunk the same material on my tests in high school over and over again!
momentarylapseofreason
I only remembered them 3-4 times directly after I woke up.

The others that I didn't remember until it happened and quite bit later. I am more sceptical of these because they are so short and of little detail. All of them were never an important life event.
pinOi32
hmm...is the dreaming called deja vu, or is the feeling called deja vu? Or is it both? huh.gif
Jouster
this happens to me all the time. except I know when things are going to happen. my dreams somtimes will tell me what will hapen in some parts of the day and then I just expect that and it happens. also I get de ja vu freaquently.
ORLY
It's simple. We have so called "memories" stored in different parts of our brain , think of our brain as a huge tic-tac-toe canvas but replace the x's and o's with different figment of our memories. Whenever each x's or o's ( each figment of memory) get triggered by the same stimuli , it causes our brain to somewhat synthesize a wave across the tic-tac-toe canvas (a wave that hit's certain x's and o's) , thus igniting random patterns of "figments of our memory" and tricks us into believe that we are "familiar" or that it "happened" to us before.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j32/rmarpuzon/figments.jpg

^^Sorry i'm not quite the artist haha .. But imagine those different X's and O's to be different memories , and then imagine that wave (starting from point A to B ) going across the different X's and O's , it ignites different parts of our memories into a strand of consciousness that creates a "De Ja Vu" .

Obviously he does not have them

Look in it up in Wikipedia ,most people do.

I wonder why some people don't experience Dejavu ? Wired differently I guess.

I wonder if women experience it more often?

deja vu has happened to me so much that it doesnt surprise me anymore when it happens in real life rofl
PulsE
sorry for incomplete article i cannot get the complete one
but the thing i remember from it is that its not just a memory problem
there is a part in our brain which is responsible for this
this part is very important because without it we cannot distinguish the difference of almost same things/events
the side effect of this is the deja vu
having brain disease increases its side effects
pinOi32
I have brain disease?? ahhhhhh
