Living Life on Borrowed Time

By: Jody

How many trips to the vault can I take?
Living life on borrowed time
Withdrawing and crawling into a ball

I used to deposit so frequently
Now I haven't got the strength
I live week-to-week
On borrowed time
Until one day I will rejuvenate

It's sad but true but when you are gone
I'll finally be able to spread my wings
and be free

Free from the curses that plague you
Free from the curses that were sent to me
To make me strong and patient and calm

I will take what I've learned and live as I was taught
To laugh and love and not be so damn stern
One day at a time they say

It's everyone else and always their fault
She would always say
Trying to push the blame the other way

Just look at yourself
Look what you've become
Can't you see your life
Is overtaken with misery

I will write and write
and then write some more
Then when I'm through
I will say a prayer for you Mom

Jody,

That was unbelievable. You write so honestly, and with such emotion. I was touched.
