user posted image rStephen King: Is radiation from cell phones, power lines, cell towers, computer monitors, and normal everyday electronics really a cause of cancer, leukemia, birth defects, heart problems, and many more illnesses? The answer is yes! Are doctors talking about EMF (electromagnetic frequencies) or have concerns at all? These following doctors have shown themselves or been involved with the scientific research showing multiple effects on the body from such devices and environments. Dr. George Carlo in the United States was given 28.5 million dollars from the telecommunication industry in 1993-1995 to research the ill effects from cell phone usage if any. His findings concluded that brain and auditory never cancers were directly attributable to cell phone usage. He stated that legal litigation is the only way we are going to be able to affect the type of change that will protect consumers.

Dr. Nachman Brautbar, the leading doctor for the Erin Brockovich case which the Julia Roberts movie was made about, was the first doctor in U.S. history to stand up in front of a United States courtroom and report his findings of cell phone usage being the reason for Florida resident, Sheila Price, to have brain cancer form from her extensive use of cell phones while at her daily job. This case was rewarded in favor of Sheila Price who’s new life dealing with cancer is a reminder of what cell phones can do.

Dr. Neil Cherry, of New Zealand, proved that radiation from any device creating an electromagnetic frequency of 2.5-3 milligauss will show the destroying effect of melatonin. This chemical is created by the brain to heal and repair daily radical pair damages to cells that we obtain from everyday devices like computers, televisions, and more. This study was performed on breast cells and other bodily cells.

Dr. Olle Johansson, professor at the Experimental Dermatology Unit, Department of Neuroscience, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden has shown in multiple papers released since the 1990’s that leukemia, skin cancers, seizures, and learning disabilities can be directly related to EMF exposure especially those considered EMF sensitive.

Maria Feychting of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden worked on the Lahkola study of Jan.2007. She reported a higher incidence of gliomas (brain tumors) on the same side of the head the phone was used after ten or more years of exposure. This is the same criteria used by the European Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks for which the strongest association was found for acoustic neuromas.

Dr. Lennart O Hardell was apart of the epidemiological studies of long-term cell phone users. His work points to a "consistent pattern" of increased risks of acoustic neuromas and brain tumors. This was reported on April 4th ,2007 in a paper from the Occupational and Environmental Medicine website. Also on Jan. 26th, 2007 a article from Interphone International Study Group, (funded and sponsored by the European Union, the World Health Organization, and various other groups) stated the same findings.

Dr Anders Ahlbom on Jan. 24th 2004, Swedish Interphone studies presented the following information. Conclusions: Our findings do not indicate an increased risk of acoustic neuroma related to short-term mobile phone use after a short latency period. However, our data suggest an increased risk of acoustic neuroma associated with mobile phone use of at least 10 years' duration.

Dr. Gerald Draper of Oxford University in 2004, researched and generated a paper for the Department of Health concerning power lines and its relation to leukemia. In the results he states that children living within 100 meters of overhead cables are more likely to suffer from leukemia and that powerlines account for 20-30 of the 500 cases of childhood leukaemia in Britain each year. A Japanese study headed by Dr. Michinori Kabuto showed in 2004 that overall exposures to power frequency magnetic fields (EMF) in residential areas, was the cause in many cases of childhood leukemia in Japan.

Dr. Ashok Agarwal of the Cleveland Ohio Clinic, in a 2007 study showed that the use of cell phones decrease the semen quality in men by decreasing the sperm count, motility, viability, and normal morphology. The decrease in sperm parameters was dependent on the duration of daily exposure to cell phones and independent of the initial semen quality.

There are thousands of doctors and even more scientific papers now from around the world that support these facts. The governments and companies responsible for relaying this information to the public have yet to fulfill their role in this matter.

There are also hospitals on two continents now that you can get tested and treated for being sensitive to EMF or from other damages occured. If you have questions or concerns you can get more EMF facts and answers at http://www.emfscience.com.

Whoa, that's some creepy stuff! I doubt any amount of fact is going to stop people in general from using cellphones though. laugh.gif

Any time you move electrons you create radiation. How dangerous are cell phones? I think the studies are still too inconclusive to say, but what can be said is there is no such thing as “good” radiation. I do like cell-phone for one good reason. Years ago when I walked down the street talking to my self, people looked at me as though I were some kind of nut. Now they ignore me because they just assume I’m talking on a cell phone. Cell phones are a blessing to crazy people like me! wacko.gif

Since cellphones and communication devices will always be used, there must be a way to create new electronics that emit less radiation, or have some sort of protection around it. lead-encased cellphones? lol

When you move electrons through wires you create magnetism. If the AC current running through a wire (DC current will not produce radiation) is at a high enough frequency, the wire can put out radio frequency radiation, aka radio waves.
The antenna of a cell phone is designed specifically to put out radio frequency radiation. That's why it works.

Yes, there is such a thing as good radiation. It's called sunlight. We would die without infrared radiation, which heats things and keeps us from freezing solid. We would not see without radiation in the visible frequency range.
The radiation emitted by cell phones is nothing like the radiation coming from radioactive material. A cell phone is a radio transmitter that must be powerful enough to be picked up by the cell towers nearby.

The statement, "...any device creating an electromagnetic frequency of 2.5-3 milligauss will show...", damages the credibility of this story. Milligauss is a measure of the strength of a magnetic field. It is not a measure of frequency.
If they're saying that the magnetic field put out by a cell phone is causing the damage to the brain, then the word "radiation" couldn't be more wrong. Magnetism is not radiation.

Reducing the intensity of the radio waves transmitted from the cell phone would reduce the risk, if there really is any. There are a couple ways to do it. More sensitive receivers on cell towers would allow cell phones to put out weaker transmissions and still be picked up. Another way would be to greatly increase the numbers of cell towers so the distance from the phone to the nearest cell tower is much less.

I think the real danger from cell phones comes from the idiots who talk on them while driving! Not to mention the mental stress you get from morons yapping loudly into them in public places like resteraunts when your trying to have a pleasant meal and chat quietly with your dining companion,I really don,t want to over hear what she said he said or who was an animal in the sack last night! I,m cell phone free and plan to stay that way!

I'm with you all the way! I don't need to hear half of somebody else's conversation. I agree about phoning drivers too. I've seen plenty of bone-head moves from jerks on cell phones.

I thought the samething years ago. These people are labeling everything "cancer causing." It's annoying.

Exactly! Sometimes i find it difficult to resist the urge to grab those cell phones and start jumping up and down on it till it,s in a million little pieces, the only thing stopping me is i,d probably get the crap kicked outta me and have to buy the person a new one! But it,s still tempting, and if i ever saw anyone with the courage to do it,i,d probably start applauding them! yes.gif

The answer is actually no. Radiation from 850/900/1800/1900Mhz (GSM) and 850/1700/1900/2100Mhz (3G) is not dangerous. It never has been at the power levels that we use them. But normal GSM phone uses 2W at 850/900Mhz and 1W at 1800/1900Mhz bands. I don't know at the moment what the power output is from 3G phone, but it problay isn't above 1W on higher frequency's, but problay 2W on the lower onces . More on Radio Waves here.

There is also no scientific data to support the claims that are laid out in the article that claims GSM phones are dangerous. It is still being debated, at best.

I suffered from severe headaches and migrains for months about nine years ago , only when I lost my mobile phone they dissapeared , when I started using my mobile again they returned.
electric smog then was practically unheard of, I was told by my doctor that I was sensitive to microwave radiation.
I can't use mobiles but still get slight pains when people use mobiles next to me,
Also we dont have a microwave in the house as this makes me dizzy.(Im not nuts honest)
still get pains driving by some masts in my area.

this can affect me on a day to day basis as somedays you feel ill or get headaches, its a different type of feeling or pain so I do know when its electric smog and not a hangover.

when I had visited the doctor in the past he told me he had a patient with the same problem and who wanted a scan......nothing showed up , but its still a worry.

Yes, it all depends on how they are using the word “radiation” and what we are talking about. You are right; we are not talking alpha, beta, and gamma particles here. MRI’s are not going to fry you in the same way x-rays do because they use magnetism and radio waves, but I still wouldn’t want to run a pregnant woman through an MRI just for kicks. Perhaps “safe” would have been a better word than “good.” There are no real “safe levels” of radiation, more like “acceptable levels,” but all radiation is POTENTIALLY harmful. But then again, living is potentially harmful.
