Recently the Chinese public have raised great interest over Weird Meat, as are shown in the photos below. They are found on large rocks mostly. Smooth or rough, may have strange strips, feels like meat, can endure fire or hot water, can grow, elastic.
Ancient Chinese doctors call them Tai Sui(means thousands of years), which has medical effect. They were believed to be able to make people live forever. Now scientists have proved that these strange meat can enhance human bodies' resistance to diseases and biological bodies' resistance to decay. But of course it will not make a person live forever because it is just a kind of fungi complex.

Portabello mushrooms (fungi) are a great substitue for meat. They're good for you, and they grill up like a steak nicely, they're even a great substitute for burgers (better than those nasty veggie burgers. haha).

I'd eat the "weird chinese meat". But then again, I'm not a picky eater, I'll taste something twice just to make sure I didn't like it the first time.

The Chinese are infamous for their weird foods... I ate "sparrow on a stick" in Bejing twice. There's not a lot of edible on it, so I'm not sure it can even be considered a snack. Now that I've tried it twice, there's no need to try it a third time. haha.

Oh, come on. If you have dinner in a formal restuarant, you will find nothing illegitimate or filthy. It is just a part of what you will see in my country.

LOL, I guess you have never worked in a restaurant. I worked at first class hotel as maintenance. You couldn't get me to eat from that kitchen. I don't know how they passed heath inspections. I know one the big wigs came down and wanted to take the maintenance staff and the maids out to lunch there and we all turned him down.

The weird meat looks like an fungus I would eat it, but I want to cook it myself.

I am terribly sorry for the trouble my country has brought to you.
But let's get back to the topic. I have uploaded some new pictures here.
I just wonder how you can get it suitable to be eaten. When it is burned, it smells like fried feathers. And when it is cooked in water, it is still able to grow wink2.gif
By the way, when they grow in the wild, they engulf little stones and anything that come in its way. How can you eat that!
