We finally got rid of ours, YAY! These people drove us crazy, the noise that came from up stairs was insane! I,m not talking about ordinary noise like music or fighting and stomping although there was a lot of that too,and i didn,t really care as long as it was between 8a.m. and 11p.m. But these people were up all night as well, And IF you could get to sleep Big IF! They woke you up at least 5and 6 times a night if not more! The people across the hall heard them as did thier up stairs neighbors, and finally after everyone complained the were evicted. When the land lord went in after they left he was shocked by all the junk he found, turns out they were bringing home all kinds of scrap metal and other stuff they would scavenge then at night clean it up, fix old bikes, and assorted other stuff and then try and sell it. Now i,m not against recycling i do it myself ,But this place was a regular junk yard and they left most of it when they moved! It took the land lord several days and many truck loads to the dump to get rid of it all and most of it was heavy metal crap!( At least now i knew what all those soundswere at all hours) As they would sort this stuff out they would throw it down on the floor, and in the middle of the night when everything else is quiet the noise would give you a heart attack! I am so glad they are gone! Why would anyone who did this kind of an activity move into an apartment in the first place? I would think you would need a house with lots of room and a shed or two for all that junk! And they had to know the noise would be way to much for an apartment, specially at night! But they are gone now and all is well with my little world again,AHHHH!!! yes.gif

The ones I have now are pretty bad. Meth-heads who run their house off an old, loud generator. Their yard is full of trash and broken down hearses and they are out cooking meth in their back yard all hours of the night. Stinks up the entire neighborhood.

ohmy.gif I,m surprised the cops don,t shut them down! Or do they have to blow up the neighborhood and kill a few kids before it,s considered a crime? wacko.gif

They get sent away for a couple of months every now and then, but they come back. Last time it happened one of their dogs wandered into my yard and died. It was way in the back and it was there for a good while in the sun before I discovered the smell. Yeah, I'm not a fan of my neighbors.

I tell you what is worse than bad neighbours, bad landlords *shakes fist*.

My last apartment was a bit odd. It was a two story house, but split up into 4 different sections, making 4 apartments. So anything we did it could be heard all over. After a month or so living there, this girl around my age moved in her first apartment, downstairs. On the very first day....very first, she played music until 2am. I told my mother about it and she was saying how it is her first apartment, she's just a little excited..etc. This proceeded for the next two weeks.

Then, she would come up stairs and knock on our door asking for outrageous things. "Can I have a few dishes, and silverware? Oh, and if you have any dishliquid that would be great too." Being the kind, lovable wink2.gif person that I am; gave her our old set of dishes.

30 minutes later she comes up and asks for creole powder. Who the hell asks for creole powder?

We put up with it for another week, and finally called the landlord. Of course, he went and talked to her about the problems she was causing, and of course, she figured out it was us that called.

Thats when the real problems started to happen.

There were 4 parking spaces infront of the house. 1 for each apartment. Each was labeled 1 through 4. Our apartment number was 1, and theirs was 4. The neighbours beside us always parked in our space, we didn't care since all of us only had one car, so we always parked in 4. The day the landlord talked to the girl, she came up to our apartment and said. "Excuse me, but you are in my parking space." I said fine, and went and moved the car.

Out of habit, I parked the car in space 4 again the next day. She comes up to my apartment with an attitude yelling "I thought I asked you not to park in my space?" Well, of course I cant keep my mouth shut. I tell her I am not moving the car, and to never come knocking on my door again. My mother hears us arguing, and she knows my temper, so she pulls me back inside and tells me to go in the other room, while she is standing their taking the girls yelling I heard her call my mom a b*tch. I went crazy lol. Without giving too much detail, she never came to bother us again innocent.gif.

Good grief...neighbors from hell...my neighbor must have 100 kids and each time they come to her house, they have to park right in my driveway - blocking it. angry.gif Where there's a huge parking lot just across the street and more parking on the other side of her house. But yet they have to pick my driveway to park...p1sses me off mad.gif Sometimes I catch them pulling in and I'd be at my door or window yelling at them to not park there disgust.gif ... dumba$$ people!

Oh I called them, said they knew. Week or so later, guy disappears for 90 days, dog dies, yadda, yadda, yadda. Now he's got a sign in the front yard that says: "$50,000 all this could be yours."

I've generally been blessed with great neighbors.

Unfortunately, the home I own now (and love more than any other I've ever owned) I have two completely nuts neighbors. One lives directly behind me. He's just flat an ass. He wanted to buy my house and kept offering the owner a "low ball" purchase price and she kept denying him. So, when I expressed interest in teh house (it was a rental) and her being a long long time family friend, she cheered and gave it to me for the low ball price the neighbor was begging to buy it for. Now he's just spiteful. He sent the EPA out "inspect" an old oil tank that's been properly decommisioned for 30 years, he lets his dog poo in my front yard (while he's walking the beast on a leash) and blatently pretends like he doesnt notice. 2 summers ago he deliberately sprayed weed killer under the fence and killed my 50 year old herb garden (it's back now, I guess it's harder to kill herbs than he thought. hahaha)

I primarily ignore him. I figure if I don't react, he'll just give up.

I also have another crazy neighbor lady two doors up the street from me. She called CPS on me for leaving my daughter at home alone all day while I'm at work. Nevermind that my daughter is TWENTY and has been emmancipated for FIVE years. haha. Needless to say CPS did not remove my adult child from my home rofl.gif . Oddly, the same woman runs an illegal Montessory out of her house... I just ignore her.

Been there, but the only thing you can do is if they are parked out in the street you can do nothing cence we dont own it the city does, but if they park in your driveway just have it towed at the owners expence, problem solved.

When me and my boyfriend first moved out of home we lived in a house divided into two. Our direct neighbour wasn't so bad, an old guy who'd get drunk then want to party with us. (generally it was just funny) But Our side neighbour we called Skitz chick. We would hear yelling and smashing all the time so we thought the boyfriend was beating her up, he comes over one day looking for her and it turns out she's beating up him, because he's hid her pot and wont let her have, apperently it would mix bad with her meds.
Our neighbours to the front of us were just plain trash, lol. They would send they're kids to our place at 7 am to play with us so we'd take them home and they'd gone back to bed! They would get us to babysit all the time. They're friends even started coming to our place (uninvited of course). We ahd to start pretending we weren't home in the end.

LOL. Thought about that when he first put the sign up, but since the wife left, and she picked out or house, I'm moving, but I will warn whoever moves about that redneck lunatic.

Our old neighbors were what you could call white trash. The adults would invite their friends over to sit on the patio and drink all night, whith the occasional exeption when they got their hands on some pot then they would go inside and puff it up. All alchohol was payed for by the Canadian government visa vi welfare checks because they were too lazy to work. Meanwhile they had two kids. A few toys to entertain them, and then other than that they were on their own in the backyard unil they were tired enough to go to bed.

An 6 year old and a 9 year old I believe, and they would always climb over our fence into our yard to play on our jungle gym leftover from me and my brother's childhood (I was then 11 and he was 14, outgrown the need for a playcentre) when we were not outside to catch them. Not only our backyard, but the neighbour next to them, who took the honour of having a pellet gun by his door way incase he caught up to them.

My parents used to babysit my little cousin, who at the time was 7, and befriended them one day when they climbed over our fence. We'll they had become such good buddies in the period of half an hour, she invited them in the house to play inside. We'll when my cousin was playing with the 6 year old one, my brother and I caught the 9 year old one eating all the food in our pantry. We kicked them out and told them to go back to their own house.

Sadly, a couple of days later, we heard someone go throw our side door. The two kids felt so welcome at our house, they didn't bother knocking our even asking to come over and "play". After we kicked them out, my mom called social services, and the kids got taken away (because their parents were divorced and it was just their mom with god knows who) and sent to their other parent. However, they still spent weekends with their pothead mom, and we found that out one day when we caught the 9 year old taking a s*** in our flowerbed.

My parents moved after that because the neighbour hood became so trashy. It was fine when we first moved into it 4 years previous, and fine for an extra two years. But within the final two years of living there, a whole assortment of druggies and wh*res filled in the once family orientated suburban block. no.gif

Hey I've been there and that is the only right way to do it,Drygulching your bad neighbor may seem like a good idea and sounds like fun to crack his head but with that the feeling only last a few nights then its back to wondering what he will do next,so the advice I give you is within the Right of the Law and that way you can sleep good at night.

Only thing I can do. Wish someone would have done it for me, I would have never given in to the ex then. LOL. Don't know for sure, but I got a sneaking suspicion that he sometimes leeches off my power line, too. Oh well, another month and I won't have to worry about his crazy ass anymore. I wish I wasn't afraid he'd shoot me, or I would take some pictures of his yard, so ya'll can see how bad it really is. Imagine the worst redneck yard you can then dump a junkyard over it. LOL.

Currently there is a strange trailer across the road and down from us. The guy there is usually whacked out on drugs, which is really scary since I was told by someone who went to school with him that he has mental problems. And I wonder why! His mom is always yelling at him, they scream and yell at the top of their lungs "F"this and "F" that, it gets so bad that my daughter gets scared. They live in an absolute junk pile. The fence is falling down, their carport is full of crap, and they have a female cat that is not fixed and tried to raise her babies in my carport. The police have been called numerous times, and one day I looked out and there were two police cars, not just one parked out there. The guy had his mom locked in the bathroom once and was trying to get to her with a butcher knife. I guess a neighbour heard her screams for help and called the cops. I was walking my daughter to the bus one morning and the guy was walking into town. He started talking to himself and then to us telling us that a star came down and was put into his skeleton and he was invincible and that everyone in the world should be thanking him since he put $200,000 in everyone's bank account. I just tried to ignore him, not trying to encourage him or set him off by saying the wrong thing. The last time I was working in the garden he was walking back and forth on the road in front of my house watching me and my niece and nephew. I ordered the kids into the house right away and didn't come back out that day. I get pretty freaked, especially since I have seen people vandalize the house to get back at this guy for whatever he has done. Today my sister said there was a for sale sign on the trailer when she went by. Boy, if I had the money I would buy it tomorrow to get them the HE** out of here.

You know, when you think about it, your home should be somewhere where you can go to relax, unfortunately some people seem hellbent on disrupting others - half the time they haven't a clue how noisy or annoying they really are, they are that ignorant!

Next door to us is a woman whose husband works away a lot, she has three kids around the ages of 11, 8 and 5. During the last two years they would continually kick their damned football over our back garden, squashing a lot of plants. At the beginning I used to throw the thing back immediately, then I began leaving it sitting in our garden for a few days, however, they then started climbing over the fince, eventually breaking it and getting the ball themselves. It didn't matter how many times I asked them not to keep kicking it over as it was ruining my plants and killing them, they continued.

Now this summer, a few months back, I was outside planting seedlings and bulbs, the eldest son was kicking his football against their own wall so hard that I am sure he thinks he is bloody David Beckham, over the ball comes, whacks me on the head and when I saw it was their ball on my broken plants yet again, I went ballistic - this was when the trouble really started.

I would go outside the next morning, and find plants trashed with sticks nearby. Plants ruined and me upset. My husband finally, having had enough, stormed next door, told their mum and really told the kid off. The trouble gradually petered out, but they do stupid things like climb all over their babysitters car with shoes on, jump on its roof and slide down the front! This, I hasten to add is whilst the old woman who looks after them whilst the mum is at work in the evenings is sitting inside the thing!! She just laughs and thinks it funny no.gif

My nearest neighbors are about 35 to 50 acres away so they've never really been a problem, more so the fact that they're most of them are truckies on the road sometimes for days at a time, but we all have an understanding at keeping a watchful eye on each others farms whenever any of us go are away for a couple of days or more.

That's the way neigbours should be, keeping an eye on each other's palces, not the 35 to 50 acres away thing......well, actually, that would be awesome, too! LOL

I live in a small apartment building (only 8 rooms) and next door to me there's a family that's very noisy sometimes(I live in #4, they live in #3). The kids run all over the place, the kids honk their family van a lot of times in the morning, and they play Mariachi music so loud(They're Mexican). I never like that music (I'm Hispanic also, but I'm Salvadorian).

There's nothing I do about them other than hope they move in the near future, they don't bother me a lot but neither of us moving anytime soon.

Actually, I have a better solution. The jerk behind me is going to get a rude awakening.

I have this bitty little house, it's old, plain, but I love the place, I've remodled it so that it's absolutely perfect for me, a single gal. My house is in one of the hottest real estate markets in Seattle, and properties on my street are going for HUGE money. We have a set of real estate agents/builders who are trying to buy my land, and the two lots directly behind me so they can knock the houses down and build monsterious mansions. I'm going to refuse to sell. That should tick him off good, because if I don't sell, he will get a whole lot less for his place. The value of his property is in many ways directly relative to mine. I'm not really refusing to sell because I want to be spiteful, it's because I want to own a free standing home, and if I sell this place, the chances that I'll find another small 1100sq ft house in this area are next to nothing (and if I did, I'd be stuck paying god awful capital gains taxes)... they're all being torn down to make way for multi million dollar behemouths.

So basically I'm hitting him where it hurts most... in the pocketbook. I think he's going to sell soon, so I'm not too worried about it. I'm patient, I can wait him out.

As far as the woman up the street? She's just plain crazy. No one likes her. She's done bugging me for now as far as I can tell. she's set on bothering her nextdoor neighbors to her west now. Since they're friends of mine, I happen to know she's chosen the WRONG neighbors to bug, they'll take care of her. haha.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is the only reason I'd sell my house, wait that fool out,Let him cry over not getting the money he wants, you are so right it hurts, as for the crazy lady, have your friends call the old folks home or someone that takes the elderly and places them in old folks homes, now that would be funny.

I'm very fortunate to live in a very good neighbourhood. All the neighbours watch out for each other. But there is one lady down the street that is nuts! He place is just a delapitated dump. I'm sure a good strong gust of wind is going to knock it over one day. She used to come over and talk to us. One day I was out on the front steps talking on the phone and she walked over and started a conversation while I was talking! She just didn't seem to understand that I was on the phone! I haven't seen her yet this summer. Hopefully I won't!

There sure are a lot of demented, deranged and plain disrespectful people out there that many have of us have the misfortune of having to call neighbor! wacko.gif But thankfully a few people were able to say some really nice things about thier neighbors and the comunity that they are fortunate to live in! yes.gif

I like all of my neighbors. Most of them are original owners in my development so they're really old. My mom lives next to me and my Aunt 3 doors down from my mom. LMAO.

Across the street from me is a big field and lots of people brings their dogs up to run and play, which is cool.

My immediate neighbor (he's about 80 and his wife passed years ago) well he just married this 65-year-old lady. She's been a bit of a thorn in my side.

She hates dogs. I have 2 and I used to watch/dogsit one other for a friend during the day. She moved in (it's been about 18 months now) and she hates all the people who come to walk their dogs on the big field.

One day she came over to tell me that she put rat poison all around her house (politely telling me) so my dogs wouldn't eat it and die. She didn't tell ANY of the people who come with their dogs. So, I sat out front most of that morning and told them all as they came about the poison and to keep their dogs away from her yard. We have a Yahoo listserv for our "dog group" so I posted it there first (I wanted to make sure I caught the morning people in case they hadn't read their emails yet).

But isn't that rude?

We've ALL been here; some 40+ years and she comes in throwing rat poison everywhere. UGH.

Ok rant over. I feel better now. Thanks original.gif Jody

When I was a kid, we had a dog poisoned by a neighbour, and he was chained up so that they couldn't complain about him being on their property. They came over while we weren't home and killed him. Just because we told them to keep THEIR dogs at home. We found out they did it because one of their kids was bragging about it. To take such hate and anger out on an innocent life is absolutely horrible. I know that karma kicked them all in the butt, so I felt a little bit revenged, but still, to poison animals is really really low.

One of my old neighbours sprayed weed kill along the fence line without telling us, so we could keep the cats inside. Anyways my cat must of rubbed against it and she was pregnant at the time, she of course cleaned herself and was poisoned. She miscarried and the kittens went sceptic inside. $1500 and 2 suburbs later the cat was okay and desexed. angry.gif

It sure made me hate those neighbours, and that is a strong feeling for a kid. It blows me away now to realize how warped that really was on their part. I teach my daughter to not even hurt plants since they are living things and to respect all life.

Thanx for caring Jody.

If they did it maliciously, then that is absolutely horrible. Some people don't even think when they do stuff like that. Especially if they don't have pets. But a little common sense sure goes a long way-what if a kid would have been out there and touched that stuff and didn't wash their hands after playing? Little things like that can blow up into huge things when people don't care enough to warn their neighbors.

Isn't it just amazing how evil people can be? And for what? How can that make them feel better? I get so flummoxed sometimes at the meanness that is displayed, and it really makes me angry when I feel angry or say something rude when soemone has done something rude to me because I don't want to be like them.

Why don't you poor gasoline all over her house when the teenagers with firecrackers walk by.

With my bad neighbors, I just live and let live. I don't like the concept of revenge at all. So I just smile, wave and say "howdy neighbor." I strongly feel that eventually, they'll get their come-upance without my help. And, being nice tends to make them go crosseyed with rage. haha.

When people are as negative and nasty as some of these folks are, they'll eventually cut off their nose to spite their faces. It never fails.

What was that saying? Be nice to your enemies, it will drive them crazy wondering what you are up to?

a constant barking dog tied to the fence on a 6 ft lead under my bedroom window while I was recovering from brain surgery. I had asked the neighbors over and over to keep the dog in. eventually I called the humane society that removed the dog for neglect. it isn't as bad as other posts , but the noise wasn't just irritating but painful.

My grandmother would say the worst neighbor she had ( who was moved 2 years ago ) was another old lady . They had known each other for over 40 years as neighbors and have disliked each other for 35 of them. They fought constantly. calling each other crazy. ( rumor is Mary years ago developed a crush on my grandfather who spurned her when grandma found out) when my Gran was about 75 had come home from church one morning , parking the car in the garage. Mary who had been watering her flowers after a few words back and forth decided to hose down Gran. lol

Gran had a cat that would relieve itself in Marys front flower bed. Mary would then pick out the matter and throw it on our driveway. My Gran later would see it and throw it on he porch. this continued until my Gran was in her late 70's.

both are nuts.

I'm still too young to own my own house. But I feel bad for you all. >.< Some of your neighbors are crazy & idiots.

LMAO.. you know I could never do anything even close to that!!!

Actually, I felt quite badly for writing about that incident this morning. I sat on my front porch thinking about it while waiting to drive Dylan to camp. Low and behold she walks into view. I said "Hi" (she usually tries to pretend not to see me) she actualy said "Hi" back to me!! Then she proceeded to chat away with me.... which made me feel even WORSE! Ugh...she did put rat poison down...I have to keep reminding myself of that!
