There has been numerous arguements on when the world was to end. the debate dates back but a more recent debate, in the early nineteenth century, was lead by Thomas Malthus. he siad that our world as we know it was to end in the mid 1900's do to our population skyrocketing and the food suply not keeping up with the rapid growing population. though he was wrong due to the sharp incline of technology, sceintist still had sprouted a thought from him: how long could our food supply and land hold such a rapidly growing population.
The world was also said to end in 6/6/06 but that didn't happen either. And suposedly at the start of the new millenuim all computers were soposed to crash but that never happend either.
I only have one more topic to discuss: what will happen in 12/21/12? it is the end of the myan calender and home of many other predictions that were said to end our world. Edward Cacey predicted a shift in the poles which would dramaticly effect everything living on earth and plunge the world into desaster. His prediction was to happen at about the same time as the myan calender ended.
this is also a reading from the bible about the poles shifting and the end of our world.
Isa 24:1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
Isa 24:2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.
Isa 24:3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.
Isa 24:4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
Isa 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
Isa 24:6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
and that would be my vision on the end of the world.

I would say you should try to get a hold of your problems. Then you would not desire for the world to end.
And if we would have been meant to know when the world ends we would have it written in clear text, for everything else read the part where it says: ... but only the father in heaven knows.

I honestly don't believe the world is going to end at that date. I do think, however, that the world will change. People will change, and a lot of it has to do with that date, and other times ending. Age of Aquarius, and all that.
But really, I think it's just human nature to keep predicting the end of the world. I think it's, because if we don't, the world (and humanity) would last forever, and nothing lasts forever, right? And the end will come, someday, for everyone. Just, not probably at the same time. But one date for everything to simply end? No.
*did that make sense?*

The Mayan calender doesn't end on 12/21/12, it restarts, do a little research into it instead of just believing what is told to you, there are plenty of websites out there that state that the scientists mistranslated it when it was first found.
As for the end of the world, let me refer you to this website
A brief history of the apocalypseFrom that website, you can see that mankind has probably been predicting the end of the world, since the world began, just because certain people agree on a date, doesn't make it true, IMO, the world will end, when people stop predicting that it will end, the day that people start having faith in themselves, and thinking that maybe, just maybe, the world could last a little longer, that is when it will end.

We've all heard this ending of the world thing millions of times. We will never know. Unless something we would know is definitely going to happen and destroy the world and the scientist confirmed the date when the food dies out or something. But even then won't be a sure fired date. Just because the Mayan calender ends doesn't mean its gonna end and its not because it restarts not end. We could make our calender end tomorrow for no reason. But nothing would happen. Man made calender to keep track of time, not God. If it was a creation of God I'm sure it would be much better but eh what can you do. Still if it was than it probably would mean something. Although that doesn't mean anything for 12/12/12. At the end of the day, the month and when at the end of that year (Which is on 25th) the world...will be exactly the same nothing less. Got it? Good now lets end these threads....can't wait for 8/8/8 lol.

When I first heard about the mayan calander and how it ends on December 21, 2012 I was curious. I researched a little and there are so many different theories about what will happen when it comes around, but of course only time will show us for sure. There are a lot of whackjobs out there though that will make books about this with the most bizarre type of scenario and make millions of dollars on it, it's pathetic. I personally think that day will bring about a new age, a golden age I guess you could say, but I guess like I stated already, time will only tell.

There is actually a lot of stuff out there about 12/12 being the end times. It is the end of the myan calender and there is also a lot of evidance which shows that our sumounting "global warming" problem is going to come to a head and the polar caps will flip and cause mass havoc. I know this because for the last three years my now X bf has been running around like a rooster with his head cut off, trying to come up with the funds to build an underground bunker to save "our" souls. ( He insists that 144 or 166 people are enought that "we " can breed and continue to do so with out worrying about the effects inbreeding.) If I hadn't been listening to it for years now I would think the whole thing sounds crazy, and it does. I'll search out some groovy links for you guys to read up on. Its that whole government rapture conspiracy I've mentioned before. Im trying to compile some info so I can get as forum thread headed in thast direction.
He actually has this very intracate theory about the rapture, 12/12, and the aliens creating us as slaves to mine for gold that links them all together. (Mind you he is my X now.) But if you could hear it, it is very convincing.
As it stands right now , I dont believe the most of it. But if things really start going hay-wire, I'll be in that under ground bunker believe you me.

Well, this my theroy on which ties in the Bible and the mayan calander...
First of all the world according to the bible is not close to being near the end, because there is alot of events that need to take place before the end of the world in correlation to the Bible. But, these events are unfolding rapidly and can possibly happen before 2012. The hebrew calander is off set by 19 years to the current year we know as. So the end of the 6000 years of man accually ends 2019, if you subtract the 7 year tribulation that leaves you with 2012. So I think the end of the Maiyan calander is actually the end of an age that shows the start of the end of the world. Just a theroy....

People can speculate all they want about 12-21-12, but there is only one fact. We're all just going to have to wait and see. However from what I have read, the Mayans didn't start their callender (the thirteen baktun cycle) to count down to the end of the world. They started it to count down to the end of an age. That could be anything, or nothing.
Good Journey.
