Sweetpumper Posted January 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2004 How is it some members are able to post larger images whereas mine seem to be limited to your 115x115 20k file sizes? Does it have to do with file type (JPG or GIF)? I only ask because some of the images I want to post are detailed but not worth bothering with when I can only upload something that is so tiny. I am Mac platform. Thanks!
Blood Angel Posted January 30, 2004 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2004 Ok, first things first. Uploaded images are limited to just that. When you see larger sized pictures (dimensions and file size), they are usually outside hosted. What this means is the person has linked the image to the post via BBcode (special bulletin board code for forums, similar to html). To add a image to you page that is on another site do the following: 1. Goto the site that has the picture. 2. Right click on the picture, and select properties via the menu that pops up. 3. Highlight the part http:\\www.thepictureurl.com 4. Hold down Ctrl button and press C button on you keyboard (keep ctrl pressed when you press C) 5. Start your post normally, type what you want. 6. Anywhere in you post click the IMG button 7. Hold down Ctrl and press V to paste the http:\\www.pictureurl.com in the small box that pops up. 8. Click ok 9. Your picture is now linked to the post. When you press 'add reply' to post your reply, the picture should be inserted into your post. Not quite sure on a mac computer however, but i imagine it has copy/paste hotkeys, use them to paste the pictures URL into the box.

Blood Angel Posted January 30, 2004 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2004 If you are referring to re-sizing a picture so it is small enough to be uploaded, this is a very much different kettle of fish. You will need specialist software to do this, such as Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Open-Canvas etc etc. (If you have this software and are wanting to know how to resize, PM me and i will get back to you with the instructions.) Alternatively if you haven't got these programs, email me the image i can then resize it for you.

Sweetpumper Posted January 30, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted January 30, 2004 Big help! I'll try your suggestion when I find something I want to add to a post. As for resizing pics, etc. I've got my Photoshop running all day, everyday! Thanks for the explanation!
