Blind visions.

Welcome and thankyou for taking the time to read this topic, although I am not sure whether I have posted it in the right catergory. First of all I'd like to ask people to leave genuine responses only. Now thats out of the way, I shall begin.

The following events have taken place quiet frequently since I was 19 (3 years ago). At first I was scared and on the odd occasion, embarrassed, but now I just don't know what to think or how to feel. What am I talking about? you ask. Well now I am going to tell you.

It first occurred just after my 19th birthday. I was at home with my youngest sister. I had walked to the fridge to get a drink when it unexpectedly happened. First of all I went blind, I couldn't see anything so grabbed onto the fridge for dear life. Then I felt really cold and I started to lose control of the muscles in my arms and legs. Which resulted in me rocking the fridge back and forth quite violently. Knowing that if I didn't do something, I would of pulled the fridge on top of myself, so I let go and dropped to the floor. Being in a state of panic and confusion I yelled out to my sister. But already having heard the comotion she had already come to see what was going on. Still I couldn't see and as I lay there on the floor, I could make out fleeting images and flashes of colour amongst the darkness. After about 5 minutes my sight had come back and I was able to get up off the floor. Although I couldn't really recall what had just happened or what I saw whilst on the floor. I just brushed it off and got on with whatever I was doing that day. Until my mother came home, my little sister had told her what had happened and so my mother had asked me if I was on drugs, which I wasn't, but she did not believe me. Until a few weeks later when it happened right in front of her. I had just gotten a tattoo earlier that day and before I went to bed I asked my mum to re-dress my tattoo. When it happened again. I knew pretty much straight away what was going to happen so I told my mum to step away from me and just let it happen. Again I went blind, felt really cold and started shaking the arm chair which I was holding onto and then dropped to the floor. I layed there for what seemed an eternity as images rolled back and forth through out the darkness. This time I could make out what some of them were. I could see peoples faces, but I didn't recognise any of them. When I could see again my panic sticken mother helped me off the floor and onto the couch.

Now for some time after, I endured regular visits to my GP and all the specialists I was referred to, being constantly poked and prodded for a very unexpected result. No one could find a single thing wrong with me. I was completely healthy. Hence the reason I am sharing these events with you. Hoping for some kind of explanation that the good people practising medicine couldn't give me. And if you're wondering, I have gained a second opinion and still no result.

I have experienced these episodes infrequently over the past few years, most of the time when I'm alone. I don't fear them anymore, when I feel it starting to happen I just lay down and wait for it to be over and continue on with daily life. There isn't really much else I can do.

Also I have been having a lot of dreams in which the end of the world is taking place in many diferent scenarios. And in most dreams and I can fly or levitate or jump really long distances. I don't really dream of anything else. I have these dreams all the time.

So we have come to the end of my story. I am hoping there will be some peolpe out there who can shed some light on my past and present situation. All I can do is hope.

Thankyou again for taking the time to read this.

I don't mean to be a a naysayer or anything, do you eat a lot of sugar? Hypoglycemia can make you pass out... so can a drop in blood pressure or getting up too fast. If you have been to the doctor I'm sure they probably tested for it but you could be diabetic... or something.

if you are aware of what's going on and you want to make sure it's not a dream, look for things that can tell you about where or when you are, like a clock or newspaper date. i guess a dream could produce these things but when you wake, check to see if you are close to that time, for example.

Thankyou for raising this issue, I have been tested for these and many other diseases/disorders. I have nothing wrong with me in that sense. Also when these events occur, I don't pass out, I am conscious, I am aware of the situation at hand, it seems to be some kind of temporary paralysis, the only thing I can still do while in this state is breathe and hear.

Quick question . I know you have had a bettery of tests already but did they check your heart ? . My boyfriend has whats known as AV block. Your symptoms are exactly as his were . and they found him to need a pace maker . after this was fitted he never has these dizzy /blind episiodes since . Just a suggestion.

This sounds medical to be honest with you and i would push for more tests to be on the safe side . If it continues .

(Howdy, SS79. Happy Easter, if this applies...)

This kind of thread bothers me. The original poster reports himself as having consulted with professional healthcare providers, being dissatisfied with their services, and now comes to a web forum for a second opinion.

Bigger than hell, if a team of physicians didn't figure this out, then Doc Amateur Hour EmDee isn't going to, either.

Your post describes with clinical precision a medical complaint. If this has not been diagnosed, then you have a quality of care issue. In industrialized countries, both providers and payers have formal arrangements for the resolution of quality of care failures.

Please check with your insurance carrier, health service, hospital, or medical practice's customer service personnel for referral to the appropriate quality of care officer or committee.

There is nothing good for you here.

And this kind of response bothers me. But unfortunately, you too, like everyone else, is entitled to an opinion. If you can recall I have stated that i have already sought a second opinion. In two different states, besides, Australia has an excellent healthcare system. Now I have taken the time to read most of the replies you have posted on here and it is my opinion that you pray on people whose beliefs do not conform with your own. I started this thread to gain an alternative insight on these issues. Not critisism on my reasons for creating this thread.

Thankyou.

I agree here. This is exactly what i would be doing if the solution wasn't found in the near future .

Start recording all the visions you have when you're in that state...Like when it happens, afterwards get up and record all that you saw

When these do happen, do you happen to remember if you had few fluids or little food on the days that you had these events? Also, did they happen after you experienced an temperature change? (Hot to Cold, or Cold to Hot?) Also, did your hearing start to numb or did you hear ringing? How long do these episodes last?

I used to have something very similar. If I had not eaten or drank enough fluids for an extended period of time, and I would quickly do something physical or drink something quickly then I would get something very similar. My eyesight would darken to the point where I could not see, my hearing would numb and I would hear ringing, I would feel very cold, and my limbs would become very hard to control and I would have to lay down on the floor to get out of it. These episodes that I had lasted from 3-6 minutes and I would only regain my health slowly after laying down.

The first time I had this and I did not lay down, but I sat down. It gotten so bad I lost consciousness and stopped breathing and my father had to do CPR on me to revive me. An ambulance was already on the way once I told my overly scared parents that I felt really, really strange. Once I regained consciousness, I laid on the floor until I felt normal. The ambulance came 5 minutes after I felt better, did all of their tests and said that I was perfectly healthy, but I had not had enough to eat and not enough fluids.

I went to several doctors after this and they said I was perfectly healthy in every way shape and form, they said that this is was due to sharply starting or stopping exercise or some sort of motion too fast. The technical term for this event is called either Hypervolemic Shock or Hypovolemic shock meaning that their is either too little or to much blood in your head respectively.

I had this many times until I started the art of blood control, something I learned from my uncle, and I would constrain the blood flow to and out of my head and now I've never had a bad incident of this. I only get mild initial symptoms, but then I concentrate and I keep all of my blood flow controlled.

Is it anything like this? If yes, there really is no way to stop it except to lay down on the floor and practice blood control. Fighter Jet Pilots practice blood control because they need to keep a fix level of blood in their heads in order to fly the jets properly. (*NOTICE* All of you skeptics out there, This is nothing supernatural, anyone can do this, you just need to concentrate and experiment with your body. Monks can do this very easily. Research it if you want.) This can be done by flexing all of the muscles in your body to keep an even level of blood in your body.

Anyways, the dreams... just keep dreaming. Don't fear it. If your anything like the rest of us, you should enjoy having those powers. If your in the dream and you understand that you are dreaming, just try and experiment with things while still trying to stay asleep. Build your abilities, for they possibly will help you in the near 3-5 years. Possibly. Either way, it's still very fun.

And as heart said, if you hear anything try and remember it and record the things once you wake up.

That is all...

Thanks for the experience.

Sincerely,

llynx

If you post on an open board, then you ought to expect a diversity of opinions. If you wish to control which replies appear, then that's what personal blogs are for.

Here is a comparison among five countries, each with an international reputation for high quality healthcare, including Australia.

http://content.healthaffairs.org/cgi/content/full/23/3/89

As the authors document, each of the high-performing countries had strengths and weaknesses in their healthcare systems. This probably has something to do with medicine being a human activity. Quality of care issues are inevitable. Providing a means for remedying these is a mark of strength, not weakness, in a system.

You have stated a quality of care issue. Nobody on this board is qualified to remedy that for you.

Though no one on this board is qualified to remedy anyone for that matter, Placebo Effects can work wonders. But then again, what you are stating is like stating that Open-Source has no credibility which is entirely incorrect.

Quality of care in the US is poor in general from the 15 or so doctors that I've been with. Doctors simply do not want to put in the effort to find an answer and just want to give you a quick solution to your problems by either saying theres nothing wrong with you or by telling you to take prozac or ****** and telling you that you will feel alot better. Though there are exceptions, the majority is this way.

Well, llynx, I am not on the hook for what the typical quality-of-care level is in one country or another. What I do report is that there are mechanisms in place to address quality of care complaints, and that these should be used. And, duh, nobody here is qualified to substitute for those.

Three years of unresolved recurring intermittent blindness episodes do not result in clean bills of health, except maybe at sick call in Dachau. There is either more to the medical aspect of the poster's story, or less.

Taking the original post at face value, there is a proper way to proceed. Seeking medical advice on an internet forum merely ensures that anyone in the circumstances described in the OP languishes in a condition dangerous to themselves and others.

This a more of a last resort place. When all of the reliable sources have failed you, you go to the unreliable sources to seek settlement. But I agree with you 8.
