Carotid Gland

In an earlier thread on Pineal Health I was intrigued by the mystery surrounding the Carotid Gland.. It's appearing ... developement ..manifestation ...during a time when more and more people are becoming psychically aware... how of late they puzzled the doctors into treating them as tumors...

could it be that the extra fluoride.. calcium in our diets are blocking ..calcifying the pituitary gland so the carotid gland is overworked trying to clear it????

http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art...rticlekey=80821

"Since our study only looked at diet and brain lesions at one point in time, we cannot conclude that calcium or vitamin D caused the brain lesions that we found," she cautioned. But she added that "our finding of a relationship between brain lesions and consumption of both calcium and vitamin D raises the question about a possible downside to high intakes of these nutrients."

Carotid Gland

In our left brain studies the past few years, we have found rumblings of a new gland physically appearing or making itself know in some individuals. It seems as though medical scientists/researchers as well as metaphysical scientists/researchers have been simultaneously discovering in some brains a new gland aptly called the carotid gland.

Following the cerebral branch of the internal carotid artery at the choroid plexus, which is located in the roof of the 4th ventricle, you will find the energetic Carotid Gland. The Carotid Gland is manifesting into a physical gland in individuals doing clearing work in this lifetime on the body, mind and spirit. This gland is truly the master gland of the immortals.

??? also known as the Kundalini gland????

INNERVATION OF PINEALOCYTES

http://www.ch.ic.ac.uk/local/projects/s_thipayang/bio.html

Sympathetic innervation

This type of innervation has been clearly defined both morphologically and functionally. The fibres originate in the superior cervical ganglia (SCG) of the sympathetic trunk, continue in the internal carotid nerve and enter the pineal gland as nervi conari (Zigmaond et al 1981, Bowers et al 1984). Their importance for the regulation fo melatonin synthesis has been demonstrated by biochemical studies after sympathectomy or electrical stimulation of the SCG, the latter leading to an approximately 50 fold increase of serotonin N-acetyltransferase (NAT) activity (Bowers & Zigmond 1980,1982). A study of rat pinealocytes after electrical stimulation of the SCG by Beuss in 1985 reviewed that some pinealocytes did not appear to be influenced by SCG stimulation, a second group responded with enhanced electrical activity and in a third group electrical activity was depressed. In view of the continuing controversy about whether NAT of hydroxyindole O-methyltransferase (HIOMT) is the rate limiting enzyme for melatonin synthesis, and the lack of a clear-cut day / night rhythm of HIOMT, in contrast to NAT, it is relevant to recall that as early as 1972 it was reported that preganglionic electrical stimulation of sympathetic nerves resulted in an increase of pineal NAT activity but a decrease of HIOMT activity.

Fire (Clinging) = Carotid (Shushumna/Spinal) (Yin)

http://miriams-well.org/Glossary/index.html

Carotid Body: A flat structure at the bifurcation of the common carotid artery, contains cells that respond to changes and concentrations of oxygen in blood and to changes in blood pressure. Accompanying it is the carotid sinus, an area richly supplied with vagus nerve endings. These, when stimulated by a rise in blood pressure, bring about reflex vasodilation and a slowing of the heart rate. The carotid body is the upper Pole of Paracelsus.

Categories of Being are Time, Quality, Quantity, Modality and Relation (after the works of Aristotle and Immanuel Kant).

Blockages eg like Salivary Gland Stones (Salivary Calculi)...

http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/23069166/

The reason why a stone forms is not known. A salivary gland stone is sometimes called a sialolith or a salivary calculus. Most salivary stones are mainly made of calcium. However, there is no abnormality of the blood calcium level or any other problem with calcium in the body. Salivary gland stones are not usually associated with any other disease.

The size of the stone can vary from less than 1 mm to a few centimeters in diameter. About 9 in 10 stones are less than 10 mm in size.

Where do salivary gland stones occur?

About 8 in 10 salivary stones form in one of the submandibular glands. It is thought that the 'uphill' drainage and the slightly thicker saliva that is made in these glands is why stones are more likely to form there. The larger parotid glands drain saliva sideways into the mouth. They also make saliva that is 'thinner' than the submandibular glands. So, stones less commonly form in parotid glands. It is rare for a stone to form in a sublingual gland.

What are the symptoms of salivary gland stones?

The common symptoms are pain and swelling of the affected gland at mealtimes. This occurs if the stone completely blocks a duct. You normally make extra saliva during a meal which pours into the mouth. However, the saliva cannot pass into the mouth if the duct is blocked by a stone. The pain can be sudden and intense just after starting a meal. Swelling soon follows. The pain and swelling ease over about 1-2 hours after a meal.

However, most stones do not block a duct completely. A stone may only partially block saliva flow, or not block the flow at all if it is embedded in the body of the gland. In these situations the symptoms can vary and include one or more of the following:

* Dull pain from time to time over the affected gland.

* Swelling of the gland. Swelling may be persistent, or vary in size from time to time.

* Infection of the gland may occur causing redness and pain. This may develop into an abscess (ball of infection and pus) and make you feel quite unwell.

Some people with salivary gland stones have no symptoms at all. A stone may be found by chance on an x-ray picture taken for another reason.

Note how Calcium is added to a lot of our food groups.. especially dairy..so we are bombarded with extra calcium.. whether our body needs it or not...!!!

Tumors..etc are usually seen as calcifications of......

Since calcium and cancer are both at low levels in horses, but both are at high levels in humans, Woods believes a cancer treatment or prevention might be discovered using this data.

"I just think would be phenomenal to take a group of horses that have these melanomas to figure out how to turn on the intracellular calcium -- to, in theory, stimulate the metastases -- of those tumors and then to (reverse the metastases)," Woods said.

Horses' low incidence of cancer is not unique. Most large animals are rarely afflicted with the disease, according the Katrin Hinrichs, a professor of physiology and pharmacology at Texas A&M University who is working toward cloning a horse.

In 1997, Woods launched a company called CancEr2 based on his theories about the association between calcium levels and cancer. He and his colleagues believe that a certain chemical, which is at abnormally low levels inside the cells of older people, may lead to certain age-related diseases. The theory is that high levels of calcium might deplete this chemical, making it a candidate for a future drug.

"Multiple age-onset diseases in humans, particularly ... Western-type diseases, are characterized by abnormally high intracellular calcium levels," Woods said. Age-onset diseases are those that occur more frequently as humans get older, such as diabetes and many cancers, including prostate cancer.

Because Woods' research was done with a private company, it has not been published, making it difficult to gauge his theory's potential.

Lead-contaminated calcium supplements pose small but avoidable risk

"The ADA claims the NRC report didn't question the safety of fluoridation but it did, as the ADA now admits," Beeber said. "The NRC also revealed fluoridation's adverse effects to the thyroid gland, diabetics, kidney patients, high water drinkers and others."

He added that the ADA warning had only gone out to its members, and asked, "Who will alert parents?"

The Environmental Protection Agency, which sets allowable water fluoride levels, is required to consider the most vulnerable members of a population, so allowable fluoride levels should be near zero to protect infants.

"This should end water fluoridation," Beeber said. "Fluoridation is a failed concept that must be abandoned before more Americans are harmed."

Takahashi K, Akiniwa K, Narita K.

Age-specific and age-standardized rates (ASR) of registered cancers for nine communities in the U.S.A. (21.8 million inhabitants, mainly white) were obtained from IARC data (1978-82, 1983-87, 1988-92). The percentage of people supplied with "optimally" fluoridated drinking water (FD) obtained from the Fluoridation Census 1985, U.S.A. were used for regression analysis of incidence rates of cancers at thirty six sites (ICD-WHO, 1957). About two-thirds of sites of the body (ICD) were associated positively with FD, but negative associations were noted for lip cancer, melanoma of the skin, and cancers of the prostate and thyroid gland. In digestive organs the stomach showed only limited and small intestine no significant link. However, cancers of the oral cavity and pharynx, colon and rectum, hepato-biliary and urinary organs were positively associated with FD. This was also the case for bone cancers in male, in line with results of rat experiments. Brain tumors and T-cell system Hodgkin's disease, Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, multiple myeloma, melanoma of the skin and monocytic leukaemia were also correlated with FD. Of the 36 sites, 23 were positively significant (63.9%), 9 not significant (25.0%) and 4 negatively significant (11.1%). This may indicate a complexity of mechanisms of action of fluoride in the body, especially in view of the coexising positive and negative correlations with the fluoridation index. The likelihood of fluoride acting as a genetic cause of cancer requires consideration.

It is currently thought that melatonin reaches its neural targets via the peripheral circulation (10, 11). According to this approach, melatonin is secreted into the Galen vein, which drains into the sagittal sinus before entering the jugular vein. Venous melatonin is finally transported back to the brain via the carotid arteries. Considering that the pineal gland is a deep brain structure, this route of action would appear rather circuitous. An alternative hypothesis is that melatonin reaches its targets through the cerebroventricular system. Data to support this second hypothesis are, however, sparse, and less than 0.1% of the total amount of melatonin produced by the pineal gland is thought to enter the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) (12).

9. Carotid Gland. This gland is located at the bifurcation of the common carotid arteries. The exact functions of this gland are also unknown as yet, but both the coccygeal and carotid glands seem to act as neutralizers of systematic poisons.

CAROTID GLANDS

http://biologyofkundalini.com/article.php?...eKundaliniGland

U.G. Krishnamurti talks about the cobra effect of the neck puffing out during acute prana flow (hence the ancient Egyptian symbol). The "carotid glands" are a reddish-brown oval body, in the top of the neck just below the ears. It is similar in structure to the kundalini gland (coccygeal gland). It is known that oxygen and carbon dioxide concentrations represent the main stimulus for the carotid body. Carbon monoxide as a gaseous neurotransmitter also appears to be involved in the regulation of chemosensors of carotid body which are regulated by molecular oxygen and inhibited by carbon monoxide.

The coccygeal and carotid glands seem to act as neutralizers of systemic poisons. The carotid gland cells produce dopamine, and this is significant to the understanding of their function.

"I do not want to be an exhibitionist, but you are doctors. There is something to the symbolism they have in India--the cobra. Yesterday was the new moon. The body is affected by everything that is happening around you. It is not separate from what is happening around you. Whatever is happening there is also happening here; there is only the physical response. This is affection. You can't prevent this, for the simple reason that the armor that you have built around yourself is destroyed [in the alchemy], so it is very vulnerable to everything that is happening there. With the phases of the moon--full moon, half moon, quarter moon--those swellings here take the shape of a cobra. Maybe the reason why some people have created all these images--Siva and all those kinds of things. But why should it take the shape of a cobra? I have asked many doctors why this swelling is here, but nobody could give me a satisfactory answer. I don't know if there are any glands or anything here." P.31, UG Krishnamurti, The Mystique of Enlightenment.

This chakra is also known as the third eye and is located at the centre of the forehead. The indigo coloured chakra is associated with the temples and the carotid plexus.

It is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively and tunes in to our psychic ability.

This subject also includes, clairvoyance (inner sense of vision), clairaudience (inner sense of hearing) and clairsentience (inner sense of touch) are all interlinked with this chakra.

So maybe the slow regulated breathing of meditation affects the carbon levels in the body and then activates the carotid gland which is linked to the pituitary gland ? Hence helps with the ability to visualize..etc?

Some linked medical conditions here.. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19934939 and http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S096758681300444X

It seems that fluoride calcifies the pituitary...

as well as the carotid arteries.. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24012047 and more importantly the pineal :innocent: ( messed that up in the last post with the meditation thingy ) http://www.naturalnews.com/026364_fluoride_pineal_gland_sodium.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pineal_gland ...

The secretory activity of the pineal gland is only partially understood. Its location deep in the brain suggested to philosophers throughout history that it possesses particular importance. This combination led to its being regarded as a "mystery" gland with mystical, metaphysical, and occult theories surrounding its perceived functions.

René Descartes, dedicating much time to the study of the pineal (Pine-cone-shaped) gland, has called it the "principal seat of the soul".[35] He believed it to be the point of connection between the intellect and the body.[36] Descartes attached significance to the gland because he believed it to be the only section of the brain to exist as a single part rather than one-half of a pair. He argued that, because a person can never have "more than one thought at a time," external stimuli must be united within the brain before being considered by the soul, and he considered the pineal gland to be situated in "the most suitable possible place for this purpose," located centrally in the brain and surrounded by branches of the carotid arteries.[35]

These too could then possibly help with the carotid glands/ arteries too.. http://www.naturalbl...our-pineal.html cider vinegar being one of the most interesting ones... ( I have noted.. and experienced that a blend of organic cider vinegar and honey mixed in pure water taken once or twice daily for a few weeks help treat many ailments including hay fever .. allergies.. sinus conditions.. kidney stones...as well as many other ailments so worth trying anyway for a simple detox) Quite tasty and refreshing too... http://decalcifypinealgland.com/how-to-decalcify-the-pineal-gland/
