Seven gateways to hell

I ran across this and am curious anyone know the legends that surround The Seven Gateways To Hell, this location is supposed to be one, I am wondering about the rest and the story's that go with them..

It's a scary place, I have a heard a lot of people go out there to perform satanic rituals. I may be wrong but I also know that they don't allow people to enter the area at all. It's supposed to be a gateway to hell. If you think about all the people that have done the rituals there (if true) there is probably something off in the area and there is legitimate reason to keep people out.

Logic keeps me from buying into this myth. If the devil could only appear two times a year, one would most certainly be the barbeque cookoff in Kansas City, and the other would be the porn star academy awards in Vegas. But even if my destinations are off, he most certainly would not want to be standing around some dark vacant graveyard in Stull, Kansas.

As for your actual question regarding the seven gates....I'll bbl....sill checking it out. I'd heard there were nine.

Additional: I've found an exorbetant number of reference sites regarding the seven gates, and a couple of interesting forums claiming knowledge of the location (singular) and a stearn warning regarding the $400 fine for trespassing. None of them refer to the Stull Cemetery however. The seven gates I believe are not seperate locations, but seven gates that one passes through in a particular place. Howsever, I only briefly examined the material, and it does warrant an earnest research project. Fascinating. Thanks for the post. ~Jackal

Assuming it is a gateway it would be impossible to know for sure where it leads. You would have to travel through it to know. Perhaps it is a gateway, but saying it leads to hell is speculation. Persons who live in these areas will sometimes claim them as such but they lack evidence.

I suppose it is dependant on how scared you are of hell. It is fairly apparent that these myths are perpetuated by local high school and college students. But just because these locations are ficticious, I wouldn't be so fast to dismiss the notion that the gates exist at all. I am a literalist, and I believe the gates exist, the garden existed, etc etc and these places are real and tangible. Of course the garden was destroyed and it is believed to be under the persian gulf. But the devil walked there so the gates may have suffered a similar fate. Its all good supposition.

Within the roots of Demonology, " Gates " of hell can be opened. This is how conjuring / spiritual vessels occurs. Is it possible that a permanent Gate has been created ?, I don't see why not. Using a powerful ritual of some type " could " unhallow ground, and create an unholy site, much the opposite of a church. I have read of stories, like the one stated here among others ( Lebanon Road, Trout Run Road in Hellam, PA ) that depict paranormal anomalies. In stories like Dantes Inferno he falls into a crevice where he finds the devil. ( although a fictional story, at least to some ) If there " were " Gates to Hell, personally, I don't see the significance of having them in North America. I would picture them in Ancient Europe, Rome, Italy, or surrounding Israel. Those are the birthplaces of the Devil.

As far as I know, biblicly satan and his demons roam the earth right now.There was an analogy of the lake of fire from the garbage that was burned outside the isrealites camps.That in the end times satan and his demons would be put in the lake of fire for all eternity, and that mortal souls who were thrown in there would burn up and thier names erased from the book of life, and it would be is af they never existed.

I live in PA and the story you are recounting is from a place called Hellam PA, it is outside of York PA, there is supposedly 7 gates that you can travel through in the woods, (nobody has gotten past 5) here is the story behind it

(taken from an article about the story in the book "weird Pennsylvania"

The (Seven) Gates of Hell are in Hellam, PA - which is right by York. The name's meaning is "Hell Town" because there's a sulfur pit on the town's outskirts.

If you pick up the Weird Pennsylvania book, you can read more about this local legend. Rumor had it that if you were to walk though each of these seven gates in order, you'd go straight to hell, but that no one ever made it passed the 5th gate. To make things more difficult, gates 2 & 7 are invisible during the day.

Personally, I've only ever seen the first gate (but Hellam is a creepy place). The others, supposedly are "hidden" or have been torn down.

Why these gates? According to legend, there was once a mental asylum of the beaten path on Toad Road. The asylum was so out of the way, that when the building caught fire, it was difficult for firefighters to get there quickly. During that time, several patients burned to death while others escaped. The patients were known to be brutal, so when a search party went looking for the missing people, they beat and even killed many. That act of violence cursed the road.

Did Toad Road and its asylum exist? Who knows. Modern maps show no such road - though some legends claim that "Toad Road" was just a nickname.

And that there was an abandoned house on the road that you would see a light in the second story window but the second story floor was missing. while i do agree that this urban legend is interesting, i tend to agree with the fact that it is just that, a fun story to tell to scare people.

being so close by i can tell you of many people who have gone there, and the only thing they found were a bunch of police officers and a huge ticket for trespassing. not to mention that all of the gates have never existed been taken down

Actually I live in Henry County GA which has a place called "The Money Pit" in the square of McDonough, and it is said to be THE most haunted house in Henry County and some people have claimed it to be one of The Seven Gateways to Hell so I'm not sure wether that is the location of one gateway or not I'll look into it
