Wingman Posted October 8, 2005 #10 Share Posted October 8, 2005 I found this part particularly interesting: The mummified fossil was named Leonardo because graffiti near its burial site in northern Montana read "Leonard Webb and Geneva Jordan, 1917." nice find, but shouldn't this be in the paleontology forum? SilverCougar Posted October 8, 2005 #11 Share Posted October 8, 2005 This thread existed before the paleantology forum did. That's why it's here and not there. Someone "rezzed" a "dead" thread.
draconic chronicler Posted October 8, 2005 #12 Share Posted October 8, 2005 Of course it didn't have feathers. It was covered with scales like a proper reptile. Archaeopteryx had feathers because it was evolving into a bird. Feathers on any standard dinosaur is still speculative. The unidentified "fringe" on the Chinese finds ar unconvincing, and unlike the true feathers of Archeopteryx.
