Venice is an amazing place, we got lost a bunch of times, and it took me about 3 hours to find my hotel in about a 300 yard radius. Ha. I need to get back to that place. Azalin Posted November 13, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2008 I wrote many months back about my wants to visit this island and I was successful with that !. I have not been at the boards for awhile though, and I still don't have much time to do justice as a write up for the experience. The island is restricted, and we were not able to bring much video recording equipment with us. I went with a group in Italy called the " Guardabosques de fantasma " ( Ghost Rangers ). We could not record much, as we had to sign a lot of waivers just to set foot in the area. Any pictures, or evidence could be confiscated immediately if they wanted, which meant if we did capture anything worthwhile, it would be gone. Also we had to be escorted through the Psychiatric Hospital with 3 guides, I found out soon why, it's a giant maze. We were only able to spend one day and night in the hospital, but we could investigate the Island itself ( which is a lot of flat plains ) for 3 days. The group actually did find some human remains in a field, but nothing else exciting to say the least. If anything the experience was good. I do not get chilled easily at all, however the psychiatric hospital has a very unique feel too it. Creepy, cold, dark, dank yet much solitude. If you have any questions about it specifically, let me know, and I will get back to you when I can. Again, getting a chance to visit the area is quite difficult, even with financial and sponsorship backing. HollyDolly Posted November 14, 2008 #14 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Poveglia was on Scariest Places on Earth.This american family went to the island.When they were there, Alan Robson told them about the island's history, and and there was a place,I believe the chapel which served as a safe house. If you type in Alan Robson and Poveglia, there is a link to a website that has photos of the place. As I understand it, some family wanted to perhasp buy the island, and turn the hospital area into a hotel or something else.Anyhow, one of their children was scratched or had an eye scratched or something,and because of this spirit attack, the place was placed off limits,except to people who are paranormal investigators. The thing to do would be for some italian or other paranormal investigators to set up cameras during the day time, and then just let the stuff roll and see what they catch. Don't know how haunted the rest of the island is, But they definetly donot want people in the hospital area,especially at night due to the activity and concern of someone being attacked.
