Why would aliens visit Earth?

Why would aliens visit Earth...

Top reasons why aliens wouldn't visit us.

1) They're too busy discussing among their friends if there are other intelligent life on other planets, rather than sending out spaceships.

2) Speculation is fun.. and cheap

3) They all assume that if other aliens had existed, they would have been visited. Therefore, they all become happy that they're the only ones in the universe and sit cozily in their homes enjoying themselves.

4) All civilizations have their share of conservative politicians.

5) Aliens received TV signals from Earth. See the chaos. Steered clear.

6) They transcended into higher consciousness

7) They are already living with us. (Hey, how did you think Albert Einstein come up with all that crazy stuff?)

8) They came, they saw, they got bored, they left.

9) They're already watching us. Maybe we're a small petri-dish experiment. We're the e. coli of the universe. They throw in some dirt, water, a glowing "light bulb", and see what we make of ourselves.

and last but not least

10) They all blew themselves up in a world war

(These are as original as they can be from me. If I accidently said something that someone else has already said and not give credit, my apology. But i just made this up on the spot. Respond!)

Anonymous,

Welcome to the forum. :)

Lol @ Number 4. I think we have enough of those on the earth.

I hope number 9 isn't the way of things, I doubt anyone would be too pleased to find out that our whole race is just some sort of alien experiment.

As for Einstein being an alien - I certainly hope not. ;D

Kismit,

"I'm a Llama" is the default personal text for all new members who haven't entered their own yet. Not sure why the YaBB folk changed it from "YaBB rules" or whatever it was on the old forum. If I can find the bit of code that puts "I'm a llama" in I'll see if I can change it to something less silly. :s04

I bet that if they are coming, it's because earth is THE theme park destination for the rest of the galaxy. They come to watch the whole human tragedy take place in all its slendor.

Or maybe the answer is they've already been, didn't find anything intelligent here worth writing home about and then labelled the Earth "Mostly Harmless" tongue.gifgrin2.gif

heh...hitchhiker's guide...

a reason they might come by is some genius alien marketer. "Probe Earthlings for Fun and Profit!" or "Come on down to Earth, where we can get you a human perfect for your probing needs. Hot dogs for sale and free balloons for the kids."

Maybe they're sick and tired of the easy life back in civilisation and they want to go somewhere wild and dangerous. Head back to the "Good ol' days" grin2.gifgrin2.gif

Hey, maybe they have the equivalent of our "reality" TV shows........they're coming here to go "back to nature" and rough it out for some prize on offer tongue.gifgrin2.gif

Maybe they're just studying us like we do ancient Greece, Egypt and such....."Today's lectures start the series 'Earth.....A primitive civilisation's perspective on the Universe'....."

Or we're a zoo....."Mommy, look at all the silly humans. They're cute, can I have one??"

Unless they can travel faster than the speed of light or create worm holes they wouldn`t be coming here unless it was damn important. Like saving us from ourselves thumbsup.gif

Why would aliens visit Earth?

for all our delicious pies and pastries *drools*

they abduct people for the SOLE reason of discovering recipes for the perfect peach cobbler or at the very least an amazing apple brown betty.

and to anyone who reads this, always remember...keep a towel handy.
