The Crying Wolf sounds more like folklore than a cryptid to me. Interesting story though, thanks. =)

Fear Liath was pretty fascinating. Just from reading the Wikipedia article I learned stuff that had nothing to do with it, lol.

Wow, so Burrunjor is basically like a T-Rex? Interesting. =3

Thanks guys.

The Onza, a mexican big cat cryptid that resembles a black panther is another lesser known.

http://missourifolkloresociety.truman.edu/momo.html interesting site about MoMo. Apparently he's a dog snatcher.

He's not a dog snatcher.

He's a dog lover.

I heard he owns 3 pit bulls and a poodle.

So he's breeding bull-poos?

There is suppossedly a creature in Lake Erie called the "Snake in the Lake" which I have actually had a person tell me they saw. This is of fairly good size (6 feet plus) eel or such with a head the shape of a horse's head but of course more serpent or eel facial features. In the cryptid list quoted in an earlier entry there is a reference to "Bessie" being in Lake Erie but I do not know if these are one and the same. Good luck finding more info.

A friend of mine says he was brought up with the phrase "Gnitches and Gnomes", that isn't like, "Nomes", like normal pronunciation, but "Guh nomes", same with the "Guh nitches", which he says are supposed to be similar to but not the same as actual Gnomes - these are the corner of the eye creatures, which sound kind of like faerie to me. Maybe not cryptids as one might usually think, but I kinda feel like if it's an entity, it could be considered - these to me would be one of the least likely to actually exist as beings.

I heard something about a creature called the Moehau which is like the Bigfoot, only smaller and lives in the mountain ranges of New Zealand. Another cryptid which lived right up until just before the first European settelers came to New Zealand. They supposedly died about but there are some sources saying that there are some still out there.

Trunko!

"Trunko is the nickname for an animal or globster reportedly sighted in Margate, South Africa, on 25 October 1924, according to an article entitled "Fish Like A Polar Bear" published in the 27 December 1924, edition of London's Daily Mail. The animal was reputedly first seen off the coast battling two killer whales, which fought the unusual creature for three hours. It used its tail to attack the whales and reportedly lifted itself out of the water by about 20 feet. One of the witnesses, Hugh Ballance, described the animal as looking like a "giant polar bear" during a final fight."

Atmospheric monsters are a category of cryptids I really like just because they're so cool and interesting. For those who don't know, they're creatures that reportedly live high up in the air, just floating/flying. I wish there was more on them.

Another personal favorite is globsters. (Trunko, already posted above, is a good example) They're corpses of animals that wash up. Though they're usually known animals, they're still kind of cool.

A bit of a tie-in to atmospheric beasts. UFH - Unidentified flying humanoids. Very interesting and creepy.

Here's a few less well-known crypitds for you:

Kungstorn, King Eagle, was a giant bird that would grab children and eat them throughout Europe back around 1830s to 1950s

Monkey Man of India, also called Hanuman, terrorized alot of villages in 2001

Nepalese Dragon is a 40 to 50 foot giant snake that would suck its prey into its mouth through a powerful inhalation, only sighting of this creature was in 1980

Ropen, a pterosaur in New Guinea, that would attack natives

Doubt any of them are real, but the monkey man is a interesting read. Also I know someone already said it but the loveland frog is a pretty good read too, as a few of the reports came from officers.

Also if you don't mind spending some money, the book called Encyclopedia of Cryptozoology has alot of interesting cryptids, even if you don't believe in cryptids, it's a good read

ugg, UFH creep the hell out of me

They creep me out, to be honest. I remember when I first heard there were reports in Washington (where I live), I was honestly frightened that I would look up and see one. I have though. Maybe because it's always cloudy where I live.
