Minority report: The technology

Ok.. First off.. Leave the Precog's, and pre-crime out of this. This isn't what i'm asking about.

The cars, the "automated home" the Hologram system that John uses during the movie, "Sick-sticks" the choppers, The retinal scanning ads, etc. Thats's the technology I'm talking about.

As some people may know, ILM and steven spielburg sat down with a "think-tank" of scientists, to come up with what they foresee our technology being in <50 years.

And they came up with the technology featured in Minority report.

But will those things really happen?

Why not? Sounds as good a prediction as any to me. Don't really see the superhighways and intelligent cars, though. That would take a massive restructuring effort that I don't believe most cities could practically handle.

  • 2 weeks later...

Probably, its nothing too far out there, it could happen.

I think ads that scanned my retinas and then delivered ersonalized messages would annoy the heck out of me tho. I was thinking that when I saw it on the movie... its gonna happen, and we're gonna hate it.
